You can’t swing a baseball bat like that in America! Reply to D.U.S.T.

  • Because the incredulous will never be satisfied, here’s ANOTHER video proving that (Contrary to what Dale Brown claims) you can swing a full sized 38 inch baseball bat back and forth quickly the same way I was swinging a poodle noodle when testing out D.U.S.T. Self defense Bat dismarm techniques in this video:
    • I was wrong. Apology t...
Commander Brown left a very long detailed reply to this video insisting that it was physically impossible to swing a bat the way we handled the pool noodle when we tested the technique live. Soooo… I proved him wrong here: • You absolutely CAN swi...
And yet, dozens of viewers still insisted that the test was invalid because the bat I used wasn’t MLB regulation size (try saying that to a would-be mugger on the streets!)
So here we are again with a 38” baseball bat, proving once and for all that a bat is not a heavy unwieldy weapon that is impossible to swing back and forth (unless you are an absolute weakling!)

Reminds me of when a bunch of football players came into my physics classroom saying "It's impossible to do 10 full pushups in under ten seconds. I burst out laughing, handed one a stop watch and said, "Time me." I'm not particularly strong, but it took me 6. And by 10 seconds I had done 15.
The thing is, I weighed about half of what these kids did. So, what they were clearly saying is, "I can't do ten pushups in under ten seconds."
What people don't seem to grasp is that less mass means greater acceleration with less effort (Newton's 2nd law). So, clearly baseball bats are designed to accelerate quickly.

Seriously, I don’t know why people think a bat would be so heavy and unwieldy, it’s used in a sport and specifically designed to be swung fast, it’s like these people have played too many video games and have never swung a real bat before. Also even IF you couldn’t swing it very fast, you get hit in the head once or take one or two good strikes center mass from an average strength person, you WILL be going down or falling over.
