The comic genius and chemistry of Don Knotts and Andy Griffith is so incredibly apparent here. I wonder how many times, over these many years, I've roared with laughter when Barney puts his head on Andy's shoulder and utters that boozey "Hi".
Jubal may have been willing to blame some kids over a fire. But he's not heartless. He sees someone when they've a snoot full, he'll help them out. Shows that he's not such a bad dude despite all that happenedthis episode.
@@SpectrumSwordtails {"He sees someone when they've a snoot full, he'll help them out."}...of course he helps them out, they are paying for & drinking his illegal product. Man would be a dang fool, to not help.
I am interested in Capitol Hill and the state of America...but when I need a break from all the fighting in America I go to Mayberry. Thank you for the ride!
Growing up, The Andy Griffith Show came on at 6:30 p.m. every weekday, and my family gathered around the TV set each evening after the 6 o'clock news to watch it. What fond memories.
If you watch enough of the Andy Griffith Show when someone is talking to Andy, he very slightly moves his lips, sayin the other persons lines before he talks. You have to watch real closely.
There was an episode when Otis, after getting drunk would pour his booze in the water cooler before locking himself in a cell. Barney, drinking from the water cooler, got drunk. Funnier than blazes. True testament to Don Knotts' comedic talent.
I've been watching this show since i was a kid. I'm now 63 and still love this show. My kids and grandkids watch this show as i did. Such good wholesome humor.
It is so sad that we won't see good lovable funny movies like this anymore Barney's gone well Don knotts now Andy's gone they're just ain't going to be any good movies like this anymore good down home country love you caring sure I am going to miss the Andy Griffith show
FUN FACT: ............ Earle Hagen and Herbert Spencer wrote the music, however, it was Jubal Foster, (actor Everett Sloane), who wrote the lyrics to 'The Fishin' Hole' which is the theme song in the opening title for the Andy Griffith Show.
There is one episode in particular that I can't seem to find where Barney is looking to catch a male and female criminal in a camping trailer park. The man gets out of the camper and goes to the car to start it, Barney is caught hiding in the front of the car and tries to stop it from moving by putting his shoulder to the care and planting his feet in the ground. After the man goes back into the camper, Barney hops in the car and takes off speeding down the road weaving side to side with the pair inside being thrown all around. This one of Barney's funniest apprehensions ever IMHO
The late great Everett Sloane, who Played "Jubal Foster", was the guy who Wrote "The Andy Griffith Show Theme!" Dressed here like an evil serious Southern hill country version of "Ed Norton." Talented man.😂🎤👮♂️🎼🎸🎹🥁📺B.W.
I knew two guys who were brothers. The oldest was Gabriel, called Gabe. The youngest brother was named Jubal Lee. He went by Jube or Jubal. Their dad was somewhat religious so he gave his sons religious sounding names. Jubal Lee...very close to Jubilee. Mike Pardue

This was 100% dead-on accurate: when moonshine has fully set up, it has no odor and is easily mistaken for water; before that, it has some STRONG fumes... (you might take a sip, but- why would you want to?... you would wait until it had fully set up). This is not called "sipping" whiskey for nothing: if you took a big gulp (as Barney did) you would, in all likelihood, end up flat on your face !!
I was visiting a friend in North Carolina long ago and some friend of his gave me a sample of Tennessee moonshine. I told him “back in Texas we call that rocket fuel.”
Its a wonderful he could walk just one ladder full would make a pint bottle anybody that has ever had good old fashion shine straight from the hills knows a pint will plant ya good LMAO😂
Yes Don Knotts---Barny Fife was very good at his part. But did you ever notice he almost plays the same part in Three's Company. The want-to-be deputy and then the want-to-land lord .

@@dvdreview7956they did a lot of takes!! Just saying
cracks me up when the prisoner has to help Barney to the car 😆
It can be his first time of community service as a prisoner.
And then the prisoner even helps to put Barney in the back seat lol.

Makes me smile every time I watch, thank you Don!
He was one funny person. Especially as Barney.
I miss this guy. He was my favorite comedian.
It crack meup when barney gets drunk god I love these shows can't get enough of them
The part where Barney makes the noise of fire going everywhere is so dang funny! That's my favorite part of the scene!
Andy broke character 😂 when Don was acting drunk, and couldn’t help it.
I always liked "Barney you're gassed!" Lol
Yea!! Otis!!!!! He spiked the spring water!!! Lol!!!!!
@@adriantomlin1362 ...bottoms up....
I love it when Barney gets drunk he’s pretty funny either way
I think it would be difficult to act drunk, but not for Don Knotts he is a natural and talented actor 👍👍👍 love this episode 🤗
He’ drunk w/ a gun!!! Lol
John dunsworth did a very good job of acting drunk. I guess if you see enough drunk people you just mimic their actions.

Barney got drunk 5 times 3 by accident although it’s hard to believe someone could drink moonshine and not notice
Barney is so funy he would say Jubal jubal jubal bual.. ju...bal XD THis is too funny

Barney just can't hold his liquor...
Yeah, he shouldn't have been that drunk. He did drink alcohol, but not that much.
It's a dry county. Their tolerance is pretty minimal in there.

I love this Show, one of the best ever made.
I love at 2:55, Griffith is laughing /breaks character, but holds it together, enough to keep the scene going until 3:10 . Fine acting by all.
Absolutely fantastic. Thank you for posting!!!
Best thing is everytime i watch the TV show F.B.I. the head of the offices name is Jubal and makes me think of this show everytime.

Barney drinks the whole ladle then realized it’s shine🤣🤣🤣
Don Knotts was so funny being drunk! No one else could do it like him.
Barney gassed on one sip a that white lightning

Love this when they have to end up taking Barney to the car.
I love Andy Griffith show, esp. Barney and Andy, Gomer...:)
Don Knotts made this show work his humor & timing we’re perfect!
Don Knotts was so smooth in his drunk act. Excellent acting.
I loved how Jubal, the prisoner, ended up assisting the drunken deputy, Barney, to the squad car 😄.

Ah Barney. Even when inebriated he's able to do what's right. You don't find dedication like that very often.
Barney Fife, arguably the best T.V. sidekick ever.
The good old days of tv.
This episode is hilarious!😅
LMFAO XD
Not to many Jubals in this world today, we gotta stick together, there are Barneys everywhere!!! hehehe

Jubal was also the name of a great John Ford western with Glenn Ford, Ernest Borgnine and Rod Steiger. Worth a look
Even when Barney wasn't gassed, he was on a natural high.
