I love Lauren. I don’t even have schizophrenia and I started watching her right as she began her taper. I was a little worried but then she found Mark Horowitz. That’s when I knew she would be okay. Seeing her speaking to Dr. Josef has been the cherry on top.
Never be worried abt someone tapering of neuro-toxins. There are no "meds" to treat mental illness.
People who actually have schizophrenia feel differently than you and is justified. For one she has never been diagnosed with Schizophrenia.
@ people who physically get injured by medications feel differently than you and it’s actually justified. Find Dr. Stuart Shipko. Find Dr. Josef Witt Doerring. Find Nicole Lamberson. Find Adele Farmer. Find Angela Peacock. Find Chris Paige. Find D E Foster. Find Dr. Christy Huff MD. Find the award winning documentary “Medicating Normal”. Find Geraldine Burns and the documentary “As Prescrided”. Hear about her work on the Massachusetts Benzodiazepine Bill. Read Robert Whitaker’s “Anatomy of an Epidemic” Read David Healy. Find Peter Breggin. For the love of god, do some research.
@ people who have chronic akathisia and other protracted medication injury definitely feel the way I do. I have lost 24 friends to chronic akathisia and other protracted injury since March 2021. I have suffered chronic akathisia on some level since my late teens. I avoided antidepressants and antihistamines like the plague only knowing that I never wanted to feel that way (acute akathisia) again. I was unknowingly made a pain patient by 21 year old b/c of some of this medication harm. Trust me grasshopper. You don’t understand how far this medication harm rabbit hole goes. I have friends tortured alive 15 even 29 years off.
@@PaulMay-mt4sc Schizoaffective disorder, not schizophrenia. But she's right, they don't work the way people think they do. People think they reduce or eliminate mania or psychosis, but they don't. They just make you less energetic and more outwardly compliant.
She’s sparking this revolution into a whole new patient-base. I love seeing this.
WTF is this? Either she's lying or else she didn't have the mental health problem in the 1st place and she should question the MD who slapped that on her. This is Dangerous
@@gigi9301Actually she shizoeffective disorder and having checked in to wards and hospitals having to increase medications and only last year she researched medical keto.
I forget her channel name.
It wont work for us all but worth looking into
@gigi9301 How so? She clearly says to work with your healthcare team to properly integrate a therapeutic ketogenic diet.
sometimes we are under much stress, but we do not know that, we think it is normal (narcissistic family etc). Especially sensitive young girls(and boys) are in danger of thinking that something is wrong with them, when it is not so, they are good people, normal, it is just a bad society, family, bad people around them.
Stress keeps you in a fight of flight response and that leads to hormonal.disruptions. Cortisol production directly competes with testosterone production for example, it's either one or the other. So yeah, when you're a.teenage male for example , it is highly problematic to have your testosterone production inhibited.
Yeah❤😢
The prophetic generational curse breaker is always gonna be made to feel like something is "wrong with them". That's the issue with these labels.
So true
So true
I lost all that. Thanks to the "help" I got from the disease management industry after I asked for care for severe complex PTSD from extreme developmental trauma. The standard treatment for PTSD nearly killed me. That was almost 7 years ago and I'm still trying to recover. We don't have a Healthcare system; we have a patchwork disease management industrial complex. It's toxic, corrupt, harmful, abusive, and protects abusers over vulnerable individuals.
Yep I went to ask about a magic pill for chronic depression. Now I’m crazy, unemployed, alienated, and have lost my normal personality.
I believe the reality is far worse than what most people imagine. I am convinced that 90% of doctors are willing to manipulate medical records and treatment plans in ways that could harm or even kill their patients-and that this is often a deliberate and calculated choice. These doctors seem to operate with a shared understanding, coordinating in ways that ensure patients remain powerless to expose their actions or hold them accountable, even under healthcare inspections.
It seems disturbingly common for the system to target specific groups, particularly men with any form of mental illness. While there may still be a few good doctors out there-just as there were likely decent individuals within the Nazi party-they often choose to remain passive, focusing solely on not causing harm personally, rather than actively working to stop the systemic abuse.
The entire psychiatric and general healthcare system appears designed to set you up for failure if you exhibit any signs of mental illness. This isn’t a myth or some wild conspiracy theory-it’s something many individuals who have been truly ill, either mentally or physically, have directly experienced.
Of course, if you dare to bring up these truths with doctors or healthcare professionals, they will gaslight you, labeling you as paranoid or mentally unstable. The system will quickly try to silence you, often by justifying increased medication or even locking you away-all while dismissing your concerns as delusions.

@ you’re misinterpreting and exaggerating something that does happen regularly - defensive documentation; doctors and nurses do not document agains themselves; they will never document “doctor didn’t listen and prescribed the wrong medication which damaged the patient”. They will say instead “patient has treatment resistant depression and did not respond well to a trial of X medication.” There is no vast conspiracy just defensive documentation and lack of motivation to admit and document so you get sued or lose your licenses
I've been watching you for years, Lauren. Thank you for sharing to the world your journey and may it help millions!! One of the shocking things I remember is how the support is not there for patients in psyche wards and almost treat people inhumane. Very sad.
Absolutely agree.
I hear that. Absolutely terrified
Like where is safe
Psilocybin mushrooms have certainly had a beneficial effect on my mental health. They've been quite effective for me in managing my anxiety and depression.
Yeah. More people should try psychedelics.
Not only in a medical environment because in some countries they are illegal. But with the right set and setting they can do wonders.
levishroomies is your guy. The best shrooms and psychedelics guy I know.
Impressive can you share more info?
‘Levishroomies’, a renowned figure in his line of work. I recommend researching his credentials further.
Just ran an online search on his name and came across his website; pretty well educated. thank you for sharing.
I deeply respect Lauren. She has gone through a lot. I am so proud of her being so self reflective and getting off the meds.
WTF; this is plain out Dangerous to thousands. People, do not believe this Bull Shit
Yes! 😊
I love the word from the title "cured". I fucking love it. Didn't watch it as I am too sensitive about this topic, but I am happy that there are psychiatrists out there who know more than medicating you for life with poison
Thanks for having Lauren on for an interview. She helped me get my life back while I watched her YT channel. It’s always good to hear her inspiring story.
Good questions, Dr Josef! Yes, we are pissed all right. What happened to the good old psychoanalysts like the school of Carl Jung? Nobody cares to talk to you anymore because all they are interested in or have time to do is pushing drugs ! A lot of teenagers go through hard times with dealing with peer pressure, stress from school work and all the hormonal spikes in their bodies. Yet the psychiatrist only cares to drug them and take them out of the complexities of their lives, as Lauren put it eloquently. What a sad and exasperating situation we are in nowadays in the so-called most advanced country! It’s almost criminal for them to use drugs to ruin so many people’s lives with absolute impunity! I am so appreciative of your channel which I watch daily. Thank you for all your work!
I think you're amazing Lauren!
She is awesome
Dr. Josef is so mature and intelligent for being so young.
What a beautiful and genuine
Young lady. Very encouraging and sensitive story of courage and determination. Thank God for her and her partner who lived her and helped her.
I’ve been following Lauren for years, although I don’t suffer from the disorder. She’s always been very transparent about her experiences. I have NEVER seen her this well. It is absolutely inspiring and infuriating that this approach works, because why are most psychiatrists not interested in it?
I’ve been on psychiatric medication for a while in the past and it has a lot of very destructive and long lasting side effects. Every doctor’s interest should be not to keep patients on it long time. Psychiatrists nowadays can’t mostly cure patients, they just manage symptoms and this is absolutely revolutionary to change this dynamic. I don’t get it, this should be spread everywhere.
Not to defend psychiatrists, but I do believe almost all doctors take up the profession with good intentions. Imagine though spending years of your life learning what you believe is the best treatments (because that is what is taught and you don't know any different) and spending lots of money for that education, then being told that what you learned and what you have been doing clinically for years may not be optimal and may in fact be doing some harm. That would be a hard pill to swallow (sorry for the pun). You are being asked to accept things that go against the guidelines of treatment. You may even think you can get in trouble by not following the guidelines provided to you.
But yes, I also get frustrated that doctors are not more curious about things that seem to helping people that they didn't learn about during their training.
@@reinerschafer1708 I think they don’t want their walls to come crumbling down when they discover the truth that is being presented.
Right??? 🖤
My schizophrenic friend lives and breathes sugar + carbs. My other friend has bad anxiety and was put on antipsychotics for a suicide attempt and emotional outbursts- she drinks soda all day and lives off fast food. When I eat excess carbs I feel irritable, disassociated, restless, bouts of depression/anhedonia, ADHD much worse. It’s hard for me to be keto because my bf is vegan and I’m already a very low body fat, but I find all of this very interesting. When I first lost all my weight, it was through intermittent fasting and keto, and I think that was the first time I experienced bliss as an emotion.
I had a client on my bus ( i drive for a living) who was a nurse. She said her daughter has hallucinations and was seeing and talking to people in her room until they took away a new doll that had foremeldhyde chemicaks on it. It cured her a schizophrenia.
Anyone skeptical of keto, try it for 30 days and see how you feel both mentally and physically. I don't have a mental illness, though I'm sure the DSM would say I do on occasion, but keto was a game changer for me. It's easier than you think.
Yep, you stop craving carbs and feel amazing
@@smooth_pursuitHow can I stop having cravings in general and constant hunger when my blood sugar is always dropping to 45 no matter what? I want to do a good diet for myself, but my body always fights it. I've never liked sugar, but the more I try to fix things it seems my body fights back. I did try carnivore but it screwed me (cause more issues). So now I want to do another form of keto. Tips?
@@m.htruth8880 maybe you need to take your time with it, slowly work your way into low carb and use more slow burning carbs, just get off the sugar and other processed carbs, maybe use whole grains, brown rice, potatoes and sweet potatoes. How did carnivore screw you too? There are some tricks to it, like using coconut oil to avoid constipation. It can take a little while to adjust too, and the change in bacteria, you can even have withdrawal symptoms for a short while too.
@petecabrina I guess I still can't really digest protein or fat even with HCL and other digestive aid (I stopped being able to digest food at 15 and found supplements for it at 17 or 18), so I started having I.C type symptoms/ intense bladder pain for the first time since 15-16 (I had pelvic floor dysfunction in general from mold toxicity). That as November and my bladder still hurts and sometimes my kidneys as I speak. I ended up doing some test in November for separate reasons and saw I had proteinuria and high urine P.H. so now I'm having really bad itching (although I've had this issue my whole life and never knew it was a kidney thing), worse than ever. And the itching Is worse at night and when I have to pee.
That was before I started monitoring my blood sugar, but I believe my blood sugar dropped a lot. And that was my second time trying. The first time I tried barley 3 days. The second time I made it abt 8 days with honey on the meat.
So now I've even lowered down in digestive aid to try to take less stress on my kidneys. It seems like no matter what I eat I have b.s issues. It seems as though it's gotten worse sense I've been back in the East Coast, I guess since my options are bread crap and sweets or nothing. My situation makes it harder to diet. But it seems like my body always fights back.
And lol, I wasn't constipated, at least.
@@m.htruth8880 Are you on any glucose lowering medications? Anyone on any glucose lowering medication MUST work with their doctor when trying a ketogenic diet.
Not everyone is the same. You may need more unrefined carbs than other people. Measuring ketones is important as well.
I've been following Dr.Josef for years, and to have Lauren on is a plus, plus!!!❤

I am a recently retired PMHNP, however I pick up an occasional shift in the Behavioral Health unit at the regional hospital. Some of Lauren's videos were showed during morning groups and I'd give testimony to how she has helped patients. After the Keto series began and Lauren started making some medical claims, the Director ordered therapists and counselors to stop showing her videos due to lack of transparency. He showed us the two e-mails from his professional address that never received a response. The Behavioral Health unit at the regional hospital is amazing and is polar opposites from the psychiatric hospital across town. I believe it was to avoid any sort of trouble. I must say many younger medical professionals and informed patients are turning to sources they can relate to and that is fantastic, but if the medical and health industries need to be heavily vetted. I find her "listen to me because I'm qualified" approach that mirrors legitimate medical advice despite nothing being verified to be dangerous and unrealistic for a vast percentage of patients. It's a shame, really.
The medical and health industries includes social media especially if the social media creator is "influencing" a potentially at-risk population.
I was diagnosed with schizophrenia and psychosis. They kept me hospitalized for 60 days until they could force meds on me through a court order. I refused meds for at least 46 days until I was forced physically.I fixed my myself with probiotics while in the hospital but the doctor never asked any real questions ever 1 time a week what a complete joke! I had remembered watching the video documentary The gut: Our second brain. Which shows how mice can have a calm attitude personality or risk taking and they can switch the behaviors with the gut bacteria. All I can say is it don't matter how you act how you talk act anything they will not let you out until they drug you out of your mind! Extremely awful unbearable side effects from their poisoness drugs and they could care less. Crazy how the terrible side effects the drug gives you get even worse if you try to stop the drug! I am doing great without there drugs on a good diet and intermittent fasting for over 5 years now.
Well done.
❤
With the exception of family-backed orders, court orders are typically signed for patients who are either a severe danger to themselves or other or patients who are incapable of caring for themselves.
It almost seem like they diagnose and prescribe a drug that give you more of the symptoms that they are supposed to help. Like mild suicidal thoughts, give them anti depressant that cause the suicidal thought to get worse and numbs them out so much they don't care about anything. This something I've seen.
She is a big inspiration, what she said about leaning into this vulnerability has empowered her in ways that have helped her heal
Great interview! It really is challenging to imagine I am the key to my healing.
Josef you really are a voice for the outliers. I love the title here. Cheers!🎉
You should read Ron Coleman's journey - labelled with the nonsense of 'schizophrenia' drugged in and out of hospital for 13 years - discovers hearing voices network gradually stops seeing himself as a DSM mental patience.
Thank you Lauren, your chanel turned the life of a loved one around. God bless you for opening up your journey with the keto diet, you are a life saver❤❤❤
Followed her for years! She’s an inspiration!! 🌟
i was diagnosed with schizophrenia and schizoaffective too but another psychiatrist diagnosed something totally different. Every psychiatrist diagnosed something completely different. i don't believe that systemm anymore
All "mental illness" is trauma. Mot get labels for things they don't show symptoms of. Then the food causes it as well.
Oh my gosh!! Me too. I purposely went to 3 different psychiatrists in 3 months and they all diagnosed me with something different. Bipolar, anxiety disorder and BPD ...I don't take any meds...but sometimes wear sunglasses for my social anxiety....I drive a bus for a living. I don't believe the system at all.
@bla-n7h My experience is “bipolar” is practically “code” for harm from prior medication exposure. I had to get injured by klonopin so badly it could not be anything else to understand how I’d been injured trying Prozac. I had no idea this kind of harm even existed, let alone was allowed. All I know is that chronic akathisia, tardive akathisia, tardive dystonia; and any other tardive injury, is life altering. Most doctors think only antipsychotics cause them when anything w/an associated “withdrawal” or “discontinuation syndrome” can cause akathisia. Especially withdrawal akathisia. Opiates are notorious for it. Antidepressants are one of the biggest offenders. I can’t even say the word “medication” w/a straight face anymore after realizing how many drug classes causes my injuries.
My final shot landed me w/Benzodiazepine Induced Neurological Dysfunction which includes things like akathisia, dystonia, TD and all kinds of other neurological madness. I’ll never forget the words “akathisia” or “tardive” or “dystonia” the rest of my life.
And that last part is how you know that you are really healing. A crazy reaction is completely justified when you are dealing with a crazy system because it shows that you were actually able to process information correctly. It’s why the credentialed authorities moved so fast to have the original Soteria House projects in California closed down because they showed empirically that patient and compassionate people were more effective than the pharmacological interventions.
One time in 2021, I had a doctor in my country (Canada) tell me that I need to take anti-psychotics for 6 months to a year any time I get slightly upset about anything. I lived in a group home one time where they were trying to convince me to take anti-psychotics simply just because I had a look of annoyance on my face lol.
(My diagnosis is Generalized Anxiety Disorder. I'm not and never have been psychotic.)
I do not believe that psychiatry is a real science.
I took workshops for my depression from BiPolar In Order and indirectly learned that my antidepressants were causing most of my symptoms. In that they were not working and causing blunting.
Giving me the room to go from surviving to thriving. I took 3 years to come off all medications.
Definitely mourn my lost years and glad the program helped my question and search for my own perspective.
Yes you got her on. Well done!
Medication is for sure mind controlling and the things we receive from the outside world can also mind controlling but we just have to find people who can help us to navigate these life challenges or just let the negativity go over our head
Trailblazing the way for many of us. Thank you!
I used to love watching Living Well with Schizophrenia but as I became skeptical of the mental health system, I stopped watching and unsubscribed. I’m glad to hear this change. I resubscribed!
How cool that you basically grew in the same direction as Lauren :) People are really starting to wake up!! Dr Josef and Lauren have both helped me begin my skeptic's journey.
An anti-inflammatory diet helped me. I got autoimmune type symptoms 3 years ago after 1 year of chronic work stress. First, it caused gut issues. Then, caused major depression like I never felt before, along with multiple other bad symptoms. Doctors just prescribed anti-depressants. I didn't want to take them because I knew something else was wrong. So, I did lots of research. I chose to first eliminate all stress, including the stressful job. Then, I did a nutrient dense anti-inflammatory diet along with supplementation. That is what worked! Almost all symptoms were gone within 2-3 months.
Glad you didn’t fall for meds, but no one can eliminate all stress. If that were the case, no inflammation, no need to limit diet.
Well done.
❤
Thank you Lauren for sharing your story and recovery! I hope this message reaches everyone who needs to hear it. This is such a powerful treatment for such a serious mental illness. Cheers, Michael B
Yeah I've been on different antidepressants for thirteen years but have just come off medication as I was having side affects as well and generally eat a healthy vegetarian diet and get good exercise but find finding the support imperative to recovery and being present in my own recovery important as well
Your experience makes me doubt DSM with its ever growing diagnosises. Not prooven science is the new normal. Glad your out❤️❤️❤️
Read The Book of Woe in the history of the DSM is a horrid medical book. The DSM i mean Book of Woe is good for exposing that we need better diagnostics.
You should doubt dsm...
It seems troublesome to me the fact that she continues using the word cure; when she even ackowlodges that she has had relapses during this time and even was recently on medication still. I think that is deceiving in some way, no matrer how she tries to explain what she means by that.
True. I haven’t had any major periods of reoccurance of my depression since graduating highschool, but still, in my medical records it’s listed as “in remission”.
I wish she was more honest and careful about her language, even though in a recent video she claims it’s fully alright for her to use these terms.
Hi from Russia! Thank you for your channel and speaking the truth
What if medical doctors, psychiatrists, psychologists and other allopathic medical professionals were able to prescribe keto interventions, which would lead patients to taper from antipsychotics safely - and practice a keto intervention safely? What if antipsychotic drug companies could make antipsychotic foods - and sell those foods to pharmacies?
I think these kinds of nuanced, smaller-adjustment reforms would drive prescription drug costs down - and food prices down with it - eventually. At first, prices would probably skyrocket - but that would stabilize.
I also think that these kinds of questions would eventually lead to cures for cancer, heart disease and diabetes, among other major diseases. I think that getting outside more (way more), having less stress, following our dreams, employing more homeless people, etc. are some other things we ought to ask about.
I’m open to comments, positive and negative! Obviously, you’ll have to follow UA-cam’s Community Guidelines - but if you have healthy skepticism, critical counter-questions, etc. or even if you actually say, “hmmm, you got some good points there, fella” all comments and questions are acceptable in my mind.
Thanks Dr. Josef and Mrs. West for this enlightening (and quite frankly important) vid. Rock on & keep on venturing!
Keto is not the one fix wonder for everyone. Getting well is a VERY complex issue with needs constantly changing, different tools will need to be accessed at different times and it will not be the same for everyone.
@ agreed. They also talked about other methods of food-based fixes - and both acknowledged that some will continue to benefit from taking meds. And I can corroborate what you said - not just agree. I was never on meds but I did try several forms of keto - and none worked for me. I’m not knocking keto; maybe (like Mrs. West) I was doing keto wrong. I’m simply saying there are different strokes for different folks. Everyone has different biochemical individuality, so of course keto would not be the one fix wonder for everyone. I acknowledge that this is a very complex issue - and I’m glad people are taking about it.
Appreciate this woman’s struggle and victories, however keto is absolutely not a cure-all for everyone. Please cite proof of this for all people struggling with MH disorders. Not everyone has gut issues or eats a SAD.
Pharmaceutical companies don't profit from 'Cure'.
@ no they don’t, but most doctors ARE prescribing lifestyle changes now. People have to be willing to make hard changes to their own health.
I believe stressors can lead to inflammation in the gut, which leads to nutrient deficiencies. The inflammation can become systemic throughout the body and brain.
I've been watching Lauren for Years!!❤❤
Dr. Josef, thank you for adding the weight of your influence to this important subject. I only hope that metabolic therapy will continue to gain ground and become more widespread and accessible.
Could you please share some information about lamictal and especially vortioxetine? The latter keeps getting pushed to people as the "rolls royce for depression".
This is amazing. As I chose God over pills, the road has been bumpy but it's a worthy road, I'm praying my fiancé will get set free of the psych meds too because the side effects are as bad as the moving through feelings evenore bad because it’s added chemicals that we have to deal with. My fiancé's psychiatrist keeps telling him he has to be on the meds . I'm not pressuring him to stop them but I'm definitely praying because he is such an amazing man and the people who constantly tell him "don't forget you have mental illness" I think they just want to keep him to pay their bills. It makes me angry really because I deal with adhd and occasionally bouts of stress but now that I can feel I'd rather. Praying for everyone to fight for their mental health . The doctor doesn't always know best..
Thank you for your work.
I have schizophrenia in remission and take 10mg of olanzapine every day. My advice, based on personal experience... do not get medical advice from UA-cam videos.
DOesn't mean you can't try a different diet, for crying out loud. It's not that big a deal.

Definitely. There is unethical behavior coming from the medical community wanting to cover their a**es. There are a lot of sickos who end up in psych, everyone from the physician scientist synthesizing poisons in the lab to doctors selling these poisons to patients who don’t need them. There is a lot of sadism and cultish brainwashing in this field. Psych fields should be abolished due to the criminality and fraud. The WW2 criminal thinking never disappeared and has trickled in this space and nobody is doing anything about it.
Also, they love to legitimize their profession and lies. There is no accountability here at all. And if you are a threat, they drug you.
As a former kid of a severely mentally ill woman it has always been weird to me, when people such as Lauren are labeled "schizophrenic". My Mom is a real schizophrenic person and she is nothing Like Lauren, she talks the whole day to her voices and lives in her own world. It's ridiculous tobthink that her illness can bei cured by a diet, because she would never follow one! I don't want to sound mean with my statement or hurt anybody, IT IS Just absurd to me, that Lauren hast been labeled a schizophrenic for years.
It is called schizophrenia spectrum illnesses. Not every person is the same with schizophrenia and not every persons schizophrenia has the same severeness
I knew a guy, 40 years old, nice career, easy effort.money flowing, no rent to.pay nor bills (an engineer friend was letting him use one of his apartments as payment for various oddjobs) , unmarried, girlfriends to.spare. he had this stuff where he couldn't close one eyelid due to the ginecologist hurting him with the forceps during birth, so he got hooked.on some weed synthetics, since it made him sleep.no.matter what, even with the opened eyelid. The man also had a carcrash when.high on.cocaine once, so the psychiatrists were all.over his ass. He was court ordered on.olanzapine.eventually. This is in Romania.
Haven't talked to him since , it pained me to see him getting duped into taking the pills and suddenly getting fat. He was a funny, intelligent , empathic, spontaneous guy, but with a life most suited for a 20 something years old and not a 40 something. THAT IS NOT SCHIZOPHRENIA.
If you haven't read "Brain Energy" please consider it. Listen to Dr. Palmer's story of his youth and those of his patient's. It must be so hard to have a mother experiencing that degree of serious mental illness. It so sincerely affects the entire family. I would imagine your mom is older and likely has experienced decades of SMI and treatment? I am so sorry and it's so unfair. I try to equate SMI as any other physical disease (like cancer, Parkinson's or Alzheimers disease), only the organ affected is the brain and the symptoms are the neurological ones that affect the mind, speech, thoughts, dysfunction and subsequent actions. She didn't choose this. But even for your mom, maybe there will be hope now. As I now have hope for my son.
You're right your mom probably wouldn't follow the diet. I'm so sorry you have to live with a sick mom. I can't imagine. I do believe diet affects people's brains. There is a book called, brain allergies ..by William Philpott...but our society is not set up for people to succeed with a diet. I was told 30 years ago to get off sugar and I'm still eating sugar even if I know it causes anxiety...it's hard. F' ing hard. 🤷💕
She doesn't have schizophrenia, bi-polar with psychotic features would be more appropriate diagnosis
Love you Lauren❤❤
Very interesting. I had undergone chelation for mercury and looking back it was a wild ride. I was experiencing strong changes in about every kind of behavior such as depression and "body rejection," anxiety, one weird and strong imbalance of vertigo -- EXCEPT -- all of them dissipated in one to two days only to be replaced by new ones! This went on for about four months and then suddenly they all tapered away as my chelator (DMPS) stopped jerking me around with the mercury leaving my body. My chelation assistant/guide was great suggesting I continue and I did even though today I would not recommend mercury chelation to anyone as I think I cannot push anyone on this ride where the end could be anything. including death. I am living without a single infection for over ten years now and feel second born. Hope and wish for anyone with mercury poisoning -- which oftentimes ends in psychiatry -- to take the cure along with the risks into one's own hands.
Keto diet heals gut and lower inflammation, right? Susanne Bejerot is a swedish professor in psychiatry at Örebro University in Sweden. Her research focuses on various psychiatric conditions, including schizophrenia. She has conducted studies on the immunological aspects of psychiatric disorders, exploring how inflammation and immune responses may be linked to conditions like schizophrenia.
One of her ongoing projects involves investigating immunological markers in psychiatric patients and testing the effects of the immunomodulatory drug Rituximab on patients with schizophrenia spectrum disorders. This research aims to identify biological markers that could support future treatments for psychiatric patients with severe symptoms.
To hear her speak so negatively about Cobenfy / xanomeline is EXTREMELY disapppinting. It is a revolutionary medication with good efficacy and nowhere near the side effects of all prior antipsychotics. Keto is excellent for some but guess what... we don't know that it works for everyone suffering from schizophrenia. Why would you downplay that, Lauren?
They need to open hospitals and treatment centers for people getting off of meds or trying to revover from biochemical illnesses. I don't use the word the word mental illness...its stigmatizing.
There used to be a rule of thirds when it came to recovering from schizophrenia. I think it's now the rule of fourths. One fourth of schiophrenics are expected to recover with or without meds. Keto might have helped her feel better. There is also the placebo effect of believing that something like keto will cure you, as well as the nocebo effect of professionals giving you a stigmatizing label and cursing you with their negative expectations. Believing that you could recover and having hope can help you tremendously. I wish she had more insights.
A person needs a lot of social emotional and fincancial support to do this and have it work. Most people dont have the means to actually do this right?
Yes..
As opposed to all the medical support, payments for long term sickness that she would have needed for the next 40 years, assuming she lived that long?
@@colinmacdonald5732yeah that's a good point

I honestly think feeling like your medication is poisoning you is no delusion. It is well known many medications are toxic and addictive. I was put on meds as a child and developed horrendous side effects that almost ended my life a few times. I had horrendous side effects from my asthma medicine. Psychiatrists don't consider that your other medicine could be causing psychosis.
My epilepsy medications are causing me crazy side effects.. seizures arnt fully gone ..maybe I should put up with fits than lose my sanity😢I've tried keto but I had the keto flu badly and didn't know what to eat so I never ate enough..
Ok. This is about schizophrenia. You are also supposed to do medical keto under strict medical supervision not wing it like you did. Take everything influencers say with a grain of salt.
@Urhonour i get u, it was klonopin which is a benzo but yea now after withdrawal I feel manic..
Feeling suicidal happens more often when experiencing severe hot flashes and nerve pain and liver problems too while the toxicity on board in yourbody wholistically is far more complicated than what some rookie interns believe they can discern all in one week. All in one week when these days the pharmaceutical industry in bed with the counselling industry too believes in the playing the victim theory while malingering too. When taking a medical history to many clinicians to them only seems like just a waste of time. Meanwhile a lot could be happening in the person of interests reisdence which they need privacy about too. When people like social workers back when you were a lot younger called you a less well known public person.
This clinical out patient center is in the USA Midwest called Unison. A quick search will validate that these places do exist and have been in place for decades. They are helpful, very dynamic and open to "change", art therapist/therapy being a highlight on the path to recovery. Education on how to manage symptoms, become "self aware", etc. Peer groups. Individual talk therapy. Cross therapy for drug/alcohol addiction. And 50+ age peer group. On site pharmacy with psychiatrist/nurse practitioners there to help manage medications, including tapering medications.
All of it is offered through medical insurance and none of it has to be paid out of pocket.
I don't know if her audience or yours is even aware that these places exist?
But the way she completely leaves this out of her "journey" is not at all the reality of what is actually available and all it ends up looking like is all of you trying to push the Critical Psychiatry movement into the mainstream door, that has been there for decades helping communities on the subject of mental illness.
If you don't acknowledge it, it isn't there, that leaves room for your "experience" to be the only thing available and it's simply not true.
I’ve done Carnivore and Keto for S.M.I and both made me worse, despite guidance and tweaking all I could think of. I accept this a game changer for a lot of people, but for a few it can it have the opposite intended effect.
Sounds improbable
Every person’s body is different. Before finding Lauren, I read a book about a biomolecular scientist whose son had severe paranoid schizophrenia and after he was on clozapine, he agreed to do a protocol that heals mitochondria… I know he was vegan. In his case, it seems he found relief using a combination. I want to find out if he ever tapered off clozapine. Some people, after time, therapy n brain healing have been able to get off medications or decrease dosage. Lauren is basically saying there are more options to try- not only drugs. But she’s not against drugs, a combo or anything…. She’s trying to let people know ideas, tools that they can try to see if it helps them in their own efforts to heal.
In todays insane world especially if you are in contact with healthcare or local government trying to use you and force you into programs or jobs, becoming paranoid and even anxious and depressed is inevitable, the whole system is psychopatic.

I tried Keto after watching her channel and failed miserably. Don't try it alone. I was so sick. Maybe for some people this will work. Unfortunately not for me.
You too need support! Just start by lowering your carb and processed foods intake. Your journey doesn't have to look anything like Loren's. We each need to be on our own journeys. Wishing you the best in your endeavors.
Try reducing carbs slowly and also slowly reducing your eating window. Getting into ketosis doesn't have to happen quickly. Get plenty of electrolytes like salt. That's the most common mistake people getting into keto make, not enough electrolytes.
Don’t listen to the people in the comments, you know your body better than you do and if you feel unwell - stop.
Try raw keto
Try carnivore diet and add alot of butter
Keto is a better way! Carnivore is the way 💜

I hope you get locked behind bars for spreading this message.
Maybe they will. Lots of people in the past have been locked up for having outlandish new ideas. A couple that come to mind are Galileo for suggesting that earth was a sphere and revolved around the sun rather than the sun revolving around earth, and Dr. Semmelweis, locked in an insane asylum and beaten to death for the outlandish idea that surgeons should wash their hands between surgical procedures to save lives. Spreading new ideas is dangerous stuff.
This comment says more about you than him if anything. Maybe try going keto 💀
@@jupitersspell It says the only sensible thing about this whole crazy ass topic that a remotely sane person can hope to express. I had, and have friends who have total full blown schizophrenia. Several of them have repeatedly stopped taking their meds, and even when slow-tapered, they ended up worse afterwards. Some even dead sadly. And I know what keto is. Also know enough scientific stuff very well, like how neuropharmacology and mental illness work & manifest. Keto, as well as other diets, definitely can shock and alter the nervous system. But not in a way that would be a much safer alternative to medication, for something as severe as schizophrenia. Suggesting to an open audience of vulnerable people to replace their meds with keto is just criminally insane, that can end up hurting more people than curing them. That's why this lady & her supporters should be behind bars, instead of being allowed to spread such a harmful message. But I welcome you to prove me wrong by presenting more realistic evidence than this delusional lady's hour-long yapping could.
Isn't it dangerous advertising a cure from a diet? This could inspire people to come off medication and be a danger to themselves and others? Very misleading titles and its playing with fire.
She talks @ 37:15 about the current "system" as if all that exists for recovery, are meds.
This is not true. There are clinical out patient centers that offer a lot towards helping with recovery. And it's a very large part of the "systems" approach to dealing with mental health community. There are a variety of therapies that are offered, in a group setting, "one-on-one", nurse practitioners, clinicians, etc.
She has never highlighted this, spoken about it, nor has she ever recommended sources like NAMI.
Lauren and This whole conglomerate of "Metobolic Therapy", Tapering meds, etc. represent the modern day Critical Psychiatry movement"revolution".
They leave out what doesn't suit them (pseudoscience) to push their narrative and style of treatment on the subject of mental illness. And in very unethical, dangerous ways.
In my own experience, I never found help through NAMI- but others have.
So it is my fault for not eating right?
No! Everyone really needs their own personalized diet. It's unfortunate that we have all been misinformed over the past century on a diet of foods that are actually harmful, especially in the quantities we were told to consume them. But now we know. So, we can learn to choose, buy, and eat wiser.
Finally, she was getting on my nerves when I was watching her channel, there was something so disingenous about her experience, like she was letting herself get duped.
If that's the case, whoever she was being duped by seems to have done her a huge favour.
@@reinerschafer1708huge favor? Her new subscribers to unsubscribe ratio slightly better than 1:1 she basically stole subs from her original channel and is now pretending to have gained them organically under the guise of keto.
Hey, doctor. Should patients blindly follow an influencer's medical advice? She can say it's not medical advice all she wants but it most definitely is medical advice.
Ok this is a huge stretch, each individual has a multitude of various symptoms. Maybe you can play with different modalities however it’s biological. There is no cure.
All the negative comments here is evidence Lauren and Rob do in fact delete comments and or hide users' comments.

I am going to report this channel because it is wrong to offer wrongl information for a person with severe mental illness to people who are as fragile as anyone with inoperable prostate cancer. You said she has schizoaffective disorder which is NOT the same as schizophrenia.
He’s a medical professional, providing accurate medical information.
And, schizoaffective is ABSOLUTELY just as serious and life altering as schizophrenia - maybe even more, because it’s basically schizophrenia AND bipolar (for her) rolled into one.
@@DannyD-lr5yg "Schizoaffective disorder is considered to have a better prognosis than schizophrenia, but it can be just as serious." I am a medical professional, advocate for those with mental conditions, AND their support teams, as well as parent of someone with schizophrenia and someone tentatively diagnosed with schizoaffective disorder. There is no disagreement with Lauren's UA-cam, but I vehemently disagree with this so-called psychiatrist. He advocates for this, that, and the other new therapy, and as far as I can see continues to promote 'tapering' patients off effective schizophrenia therapy, BUT continues to talk about benzodiazepines as a standard therapy for schizophrenia, and it is not.
@@engletinaknickerbocker5380 Where/when does he talk about benzos for schizophrenia? I've only ever heard him talk about tapering OFF of benzos.
Also, he's not a "so-called psychiatrist." He IS a psychiatrist, and has some pretty impressive credentials, working for a pharmaceutical company and the FDA. He gave all of that up after seeing the lasting harms that antipsychotics, antidepressants, and, yes, benzos, cause to people.
Meds can be good in a pinch, and may be helpful for a smallllll subset of people, but they simply are not ideal for most psych patients. The way forward moves away from meds, and I'm sorry if you in your ignorance or bias disagree with that.
Sadly, keto didn’t “cure” anything and unfortunately, not withdrawal. If withdrawal is so common and she has such a massive following, how could she not know about it? It’s great that Dr WD is branching out, but he’s quickly dropped advocating for the withdrawal community.
Did you achieve true fat adaptation and deep, therapeutic ketosis? And for how long?
"Withdrawal community". Um...
@@notaras1985 you need to address the woman in the video.
What’s the tldr
Lauren’s schizoaffective disorder (basically schizophrenia + mood disorder) went into full remission (no symptoms) AND she got off of all psych meds, by adopting a strict ketogenic diet (very high fat, very low carb).
This is important because most people - doctors, patients, loved ones - consider diseases like schizophrenia to be permanent, with a need for lifelong meds.
That may be the case for some (such as those caused by head injuries), but for Lauren, her schizoaffective was apparently caused by metabolic/dietary factors.
There are actual studies showing the keto diet works for others with schizophrenia, too, which is why Lauren tried it. But I don’t think anyone expected the massively positive results it’s had for her!

I suffer from depression
If you know what it truly is, and it's a doozy, then you have succeeded to wrap your mind around it. Control is thus back to norm. No meds required. No special diets required, and no assistance of any kind at all is needed. The only catch is that you have to figure out what it is, all by yourself.
There is no such thing as schizophrenia. It just turns out that if you talk your usual sh** to a psychologist, they are 99% mute, but when you do the same to a psychiatrist they say "Schizophrenia!". It's as easy as that.
Particularly if you say anything relating to other people: psychologist - mute; psychiatrist - schizophrenia. That's all, one can put out these guidelines. Both fields are entirely unscientific, anti-science. (Which always happens if a particularly soft science acts like the ultra-fascist mega-hard science. And there is no other example than that. Maybe law in some cases.)
There is one way to escape their trollish, circular trap: be a narcissist. Be the one someone else might talk about, be the issue, rather than talk about some issue you have with someone else. Or just never bother talking to those arrogant dimwits.
All their proof is how they destroy people with their brutal pills: "See, they are completely different now, in fact completely ruined? Well, they are not normal, like I said."
She's gone full grift
I don't think all of her influencing is coming from her, alone. I think she is being influenced, as well. And she definitely is not looking or acting "well" in this video. This is from a month ago, the same outtake she did interviewing Dr. Josef. Revisited. Just flipped. He interviewing her.
Plus it opens the whole can of worms again, posting it as "cure" which is her original title post of that video that she bold face lied on camera about. This whole "journey" doesn't look good and it just keeps getting worse with every post.
Her husband has a "background in UA-cam"? Obsessive videos of her. And some of them are downright creepy. Dots on walls. Rainbows on walls. Her being the focus center subject in a room.
Plus he did a vlog on his previous wife who came out as being gay. He vlogged the whole "journey". Her name is Lauren, also.
It's now taken down.
Using the title "living well with schizophrenia" is also the USA government website official schizophrenia page.
This whole thing looks very strange from the start.
Her sitting on the toilet? What husband would post a video on YT of his wife sitting with her pants down on the toilet?
Telling her audience to "f*ck off" when being asked about her psychosis.
Being allowed to vlog post inside a psych ward and leave the premise to go on a jog and have her husband with a laptop get in room visitation?
"Fired by my psychiatrist"
UA-cam is demonetizing my channel based on discrimination?
Grinning from ear to ear "I'm a schizo" poster child for boiler plate, common knowledge, symptoms.
Morphing into the poster child for Metobolic "I cured my schizophrenia with keto" (even though she has Schizoaffective Disorder) Minds.
Then wrap it all up with a bow Critical Psychiatry and some of the possible connections there...
Part of me feels sorry for her and a another part can't stand her, for how she has willfully? Exploited the schizophrenia community with her husband and now this "care team"?
She's a PR disaster for the collective. Anyway ...
I guess it feelsthough minimizing to tell me that if I stop eating bread. That my lifelong tribulations will just be gone?
Everyone should be tested for pyroluria!! If you have a genetic defect which strips the blood of b6 and zinc....its a urine test. Very cheap at functional medicine. If you take b6 and zinc and digestive enzymes you can eat more and not be perfect. Niamacide is a great anxiety reducer.
