1969 Hot Wheels Anniversary - Where was the Celebration of 1969?

- Last year we celebrated the 50th birthday of the first model year of Hot Wheels toy cars. Now I’m thinking hey why has there been no celebration of the 2nd year of fabulous Hot Wheels? 24 NEW MODELS were introduced in 1969 adding to the original 16 for a total of 40 models. And they were not done there. Hot Wheels just kept coming and they are still going strong today.
Join me as I review each model for the 1969 model year.

That is a stunning collection. Never been that impressed by the early Hot Wheels, but seeing a pristine collection like the on you have here has changed my mind. Look after those babies, they are priceless little gems of Hot Wheels history!
I am involved in a long term love affair with 1968 to 1972 Hot Wheels. Even after 30 years plus collecting as an adult I still can't get enough of them. They are so beautiful. Thanks!

Like you, I have noticed the prices going way up lately on redlines. Not sure of the reason but I suspect it is because of new collectors coming in and paying more than retail value for them. I have all the 68 and 69 models but I am not sure if I will try to complete some of the 70s years right now. It is a good thing for sellers that prices are going up but not as great for those wanting to complete their collections.
Cars are in excellent condition for 50 year old cars. Great Collection. Thanks for sharing

I noticed that he does tend to open them up and handle them like a spasticated idiot most times.
I have some zowees minatutre hot wheels not in packages though. have like 6 of them I think. ill sell them if interested.
Very expensive hobby, no doubt about it. Some beautiful models there. I already spend a fortune on my record collection, however.
