Correction: This is from the oldest Hot Wheels Historian still alive today in the good old U.S.A. ie: Me!... Mr. Spike. The Hot Wheels Mustang Fastback was based on the 1968 model version Mustang Fastback! (just look at one close up, "no side vents"). and was released in January of 1968. (do to licensing) Two weeks after the '67 Camaro was released in mid December of 1967 and was considered a marketing test at SaveOn Drug Stores around the Los Angeles area. I got mine in South Gate, Calif. ...Both cars were made in 1967, it's just the Mustang could not be released untill '68 do to licensing.
