I never liked Gage to be honest. He was pretty unpleasant to the other employees on the show when his only ‘claim to fame’ was sleeping with the boss. What did he ever have to offer that anyone else with half a brain could offer?
I've been thru this and we set up a schedule, but if one of us needed to be gone during our scheduled time, our first offer to watch the kids was to the other parent. Only if they were busy would we find a sitter. We also spent holidays together at his mom's house (neutral territory, but still together). We were very respectful of one another's privacy, because at the end of the day we both knew that the other parent really loved our kids and would do the best for them (even if it wasn't the way we would do things). I thought they made a nice couple. Gage appeared to be a really good match for Jeff, confident enough to let Jeff’s hurtful personal passive aggressive comments roll off of him. But, I think there comes a tipping point where the comments build up and you can’t protect yourself any more - then first, you hurt and fight back and second, you leave.

If you've decided that that's your home and you're staying put then he doesn't need to be there. He should be collecting her and doing whatever he has planned then she should be staying overnight at his home. She'd quickly understand Daddy Jeff's home and Daddy Gage's home where she'd have her own room and belongings at each, simple! Get on a schedule but at least try to set the schedule up between yourselves before going down the legal route. That can create conflict and of course cost thousands of dollars. If either party has an issue sticking to the schedule that's when you need to bring in attorneys. Jeff the one thing that you're doing that's not great is having a new partner around this quickly. You can't possibly know at this stage whether this is going to be a long term thing or not. The last thing either of you want to do is introduce Monroe to a whole list of "Uncles" throughout her life. That's just nasty. Oh yeah....only in la-la land is the solution to Jeff's problems to purposely have a baby ALONE. Children need TWO parents to learn so many things in life. When you're with an equal, loving partner your child learns what dedication is, loyalty, compromise, compassion, sharing, understanding, empathy, respect for others and self...etc. There are REASONS that societies, that have had two-parent familes for thousands of years, are by far the most advanced in so many areas. I'm on Jeff's side on most things, but he is dead wrong on this one: he needs to be a real parent and put his child's needs before his own and NOT have a child alone.
