Oh my, Allice is absolutely gorgeous. I love the front colors, but am also looking forward to seeing her back. The sampler gives an overall feeling of maturity and grace that typically would not be displayed by a ten year old so that makes it seem even more precious to me. I look forward to hearing what additional history on Allice that you may discover; having some history truly makes you feel like you have some small bond to the stitcher. Thank you so much and enjoy your stitching...........

just catching up on you tube watching of your channel, that's about the only one I have time for. Allice I absolutely stunning and it's the history that captures me. The fact she is from your little town is amazing and that you might see her actual grave is so moving. Simply amazing news - glad you are out and about more and the photo walk of your and BB's adventures is a feast for the eyes. Thanks for all you do for this community of stitchers. mel

I just love it when you have history on the samplers you reproduce. Also enjoyed your video on the previous owner of your house and when you visited her grave. Such a touching story about her and that she is remembered by you this day.

Allice is a beautiful sampler; cannot wait to see your reproduction. I’ve not attempted a large sampler yet; I purchased your little gem Sarah Spencer to try my hand at it before going to a larger project. I am loving it! Thank you for all the wonderful history you provide on these young ladies, so interesting. -Anne

Alice's sampler is lovely but I was almost in tears hearing of her early death. Poor dear she will never know the pleasure her sampler will bring to us. I hope you can find her grave and share it with us. How wonderful that she lived in your area and that she will be honored by all the needlewomen who will reproduce her beautiful work. Thank you so much for the story of this sampler.

I am so pleased that Alice came into your possession! The sampler is a definite treat for the eyes. The border begs to be stitched as does the motives and messages. The sampler is so lovely!
Your little gem in progress does remind me of the artwork of Peter Max which always reminded me of inspired stain glass through the centuries.
    Stay well and stitch on!

Nicola, Allice is just lovely! I look forward to her story unfolding further and am really excited to see the actual colors of some of those motifs. Jane is so fun! The unrestrained use of color is quiet a joy and I see now why that carnation reminds you of the US.

I too get emotionally invested in these girls and wonder how their journey of life was. I look forward to hearing if you find more information on her. You already have so much history in her. I am also looking forward to Queen of the May 2020. Have a wonderful week!

I am really looking forward to stitching Alice. But I had a question. Would you ever consider doing color conversions for the front of the samplers, how time has aged them, as well as the colors on the back? I have loved many of the samplers you have charted but sometimes the colors are too strong for me. My taste runs to the softer hues that time has given us. As soon as I saw Alice behind you I was very excited, because how she looks now is so beautiful to me. Thank you for all you do for the stitching community Nicola. Stay safe!

Oh my! Allice is so beautiful! It was her destiny to be in your care, I think samplers have a way of finding their way home and Allice surely did. I’m hoping Allice is rocketing to the top of the must be charted soon list, her border is gorgeous! Honestly the whole sampler is stunning and to think she was 10 years old. I cannot wait to see her backside 😆 I am grateful you paused the video and fetched Jane because 🤤 🤤 🤤! Seeing her now convinces me even more that it was the right decision to chart her with the backside colors. It was the proper way to honor this little girl! Her release will not come soon enough for me! - Soozie

Allice’s Sampler is beautiful and such an unusual way to incorporate the text. Nicola, I know that you love to gather as much information as you can about your girls, so I hope that you don’t mind me mentioning that the verse ‘Remember now thy Creator in the days of thy youth’ comes from Ecclesiastes Chapter 12v1. The following verses talk about the pains of growing old which, as you have already discovered, sadly she did not get the chance to do. Very poignant indeed. I’m so glad that she is in your care. Look forward to seeing and hearing more about her.
