I got my ozma mount on accident lol. I was solo farming for an emote in Hydatos, and a red portal opens right next to me. I shout "What the heck is going on?" They asked if I wanted to join they had 3 spots. I joined on the 2nd half of the raid and got my mount 😀. Cafe had a discord and gave pretty clear instructions. I didn't dps or anything just did mechanics on Ozma and won!! 😀

I hope they make another convoluted raid like BA. maybe not the entry part...
But the puzzles of hidden passages, splitting up and fighting separate bosses at the same time, OUTSIDE help to trigger something INSIDE the raid was cool.

Delubrum Regaine Savage had a lot of cool stuff. The golems / slimes at the begining were really interesting tests of team co-ordination. There is the solo duel boss one person has to take care of, literally navigating through a labyrinth of traps. The winner gets a 2x damage buff too, so that is very cool.
Then after Trinity Avowed, you have to use the mini trap to shrink the group to pass under the iron bars and into the secret minotaur fight that gives access to the Queen.
The minotaur in general is pretty unique in 14, and a whole lot of fun.
Then the Queen just has a lot of stuff going on. Including a very punishing soft enrage that requires healers to use the special healer lost actions to keep up. Tanks also need manaward for a few other fights.
I would really like to see another BA/DRS.

I have to admit, having a boosted Warrior in full Cryptlurker gear in my back pocket is the BEST way to progress through the story on an alt. I can solo ANY trial in the game up to the first one in Stormblood (and that one's fussy only because of Mechanics) and not have to deal with trying to find groups in the dead hours on Dynamis. It also leads to unintentional hilarity when said Warrior's glam is a Sky Blue Chocobo outfit and one just finished Heavensward's L60 Trial. "Who... WHAT are you?" "Kweh."

eureka is super fun, one thing pint didn't mention in the video are the boss spawning mechanics, which can be a little intimidating when you first hop in but can be a really rewarding experience. basically each boss has certain conditions for spawning (weather, time of day, respawn cooldown etc) and has a random chance to spawn each time one of its' prerequisite mobs are killed. you could just farm mobs on your own to get exp, or wait in camp for other people to spawn the bosses for you, but a big part of the fun in my opinion is pulling up a tracker with some friends and going around leading the charge in spawning bosses. it really makes it feel like you're part of the expedition into eureka and also makes the content a lot more active and social. plus it's fun because while spawning in a group, you can usually pull an ABSURD amount of mobs at once, far more than anywhere else in the game

for me, progressing eureka with a couple friends from my guild stands out as one of the best experiences i've had in the game, even alongside stuff like clearing ultimates on patch

Pulling EVERY crystal claw + 8 lions for prepping Providence Watcher + getting 30 chain for obscure logograms is a glorious experience.

Warrior is definitely the go-to for grinding out Eureka levels. Make sure to grab the unique chest item for whatever job you go for, though! It'll make your life in there much less tedious.

Having played FF11 online for 9 years kept me out of Eureka. Eureka is basically FF11 online lite version. Back then, I had youth and tenacity. Now, I don't got them. And yes, I have beaten Absolute Virtue in FF11 online. I was among many Black Mages on the sideline replacing others without MP.

13:07 xD I haven't done Eureka myself at all so I didn't know about this. It's actually reminding me of the game called Visage, which actually gives pretty much a similar warning like this when you start a game, saying the game can get impossibly hard and requires a lot of tenacity and patience... and it's actually justified, because in the game you don't know where the enemy will spawn or when. In my case I hid in a very small room with a washing machine... and the enemy spawned right in front of me, thus trapping me and instantly killing me. I find it funny, because not even Dark Souls games give such a warning (at least not to my knowledge).

Eureka is SO MUCH BETTER if you can do it as a duo. A tank/DPS pair can group up mobs and burn them down to level Elemental XP & prep the boss spawns so much easier. WAR & PLD have the self healing needed to make it a breeze.

My gut instinct tells me YoshiP wants to make a really hardcore old school MMO but either he or his bosses know that would not be profitable. Every so often he tries to slip that stuff into XIV and it's almost always hated (except by the people who have 8+ hours per day to just grind.

I did the relics for DRK, RDM and WAR so spent a LOT of time in eureka and I gotta tell you, the hardest part is not getting your portal to BA stolen lmao

Eureka definitely feels like an old school MMO. That’s probably why it’s some of my favorite content in the game - along with Bozja.

eureka is significantly easier with guides and discord servers to coordinate baldesion arsenal...but if you compare it to literally everything else in the game yeah, its fair to say its the hardest side quest. There are others that are more annoying or longer but not really any that are harder

As an aside about WAR: Pretty much once you get Raw Intuition and Equilibrium, you are nigh invincible in a lot of content if you are half-way decent at the job.

Go warrior unless you want to be dependent on others for what feels like an eternity (or backed by a group) I just recently did this content myself and the grind is real.. SE gets smart in the later zones and doesn’t allow you to mooch off others if they are more than 8 lvls higher than you. Until you can reflect farm - the grind is monotonous and, tbh, absolutely mind numbing.

I’d argue that Pint has NOT been playing 14 for “ages”. He’s fairly recent in comparison to the average player. He does put in more hours than most players though, and his content is excellent.

    "Hardest sidequest in XIV"
Immediately does nothing but piggyback off the work of others.
Eureka really isn't that bad. I enjoyed it so much that I did it on a couple alts without much problem, despite people saying it's impossible to solo. The only thing is getting into the Discord so you can get callouts for the raid, which have been super easy to follow in my experience, but everyone uses Discord so it's a non-issue. So, yeah, Eureka's a chill time.
