    A serious case of outgrowing their nation's local scene (and that's no understatement, since we're talking of FBM proliferation). Whether you like them or not, they earned their status on account of audibly much hard work - the complexity of their studio output and the ravishingly frightening essence of their lyrics above all, especially after SMRC, reach such paramount heights that only in decades shall it all be thoroughly understood by whom it may concern. Ghastly fenomenal group.

    THIS is Black Metal. If you determine the genre based on what it was SUPPOSED to be, and not what the original bands on forward put out, then from an idealized sense this is the real deal. Obscure, dark, graphic, spooky, malignant, hateful, and doesn't give a fuck if you understand it or like it, it is what it is for it's own sake. From an idealistic, philosophical sense, this is pure darkness. Not the theatrical, pedestrian shit that so much of the rest of the genre is.

    This album is definitely more intelligible and discernible than Paracletus and Fas, that's for sure. But it's still damn good; it'll be hard for them to top the absolute masterpiece that is Fas.

    If they ever play live (which I doubt will happen)..I think I would die from how intense it would be.

    why people care so much about labelling the music?

    • @satanicpanic1313
      @satanicpanic1313 9 років тому +1

      Gives people something to argue about! Great band lets just call it metal folks

    • @liltito1519

      Yeah right. Let's call DsO rap or pop. If someone asks you what kind of music do you listen, you just reply "I listen to music", and they'll totally get what you're listening. Why do people care so much about not labeling music?

    • @50iraqidinar
      @50iraqidinar 6 років тому +1

      Some people are more interested in the identity of the music than its essence. Labeling a band as multi-faceted as DSO "black metal" or "death metal" or "blackened grouper-core" or whatever, necessarily obscures their complexity

    there is a lot of shit in black metal (the whole people who cared more about being trve and whatnot than about their music) but if done right, it can be one of the most thrilling genres to listen to. a little list of black metal i enjoy: emperor, dissection, watain, sacramentum, bathory, utgard, if you want to get a bit more into it. there's some real breath taking moments to be found.

    I have every BaN album except for their first two releases (I mean to get them at some point), and each one offers something unique and interesting. TWWTG and MV II are probably my favorite, but I listen to the others quite regularly as well.
    Yeah, every fan of extreme music in general ought to check out Blut aus Nord, regardless of their opinions on traditional BM.

  • @technics27

    Blut aus Nord are very good! I like them even though I don't listen to black metal much! I like their industrial feel..! I have listened to ''The Work...'' and I ll be checking ''Memoria...'' out also! I
    believe that these kind of bands may appeal to various metal or extreme sound fans..!
