You just saved me some money! I had Noah’s flood coming through the glove compartment of my 2011 Volkswagen Golf. I tried this an hour ago and got a bunch of leaves and dirt out. It just started pouring down and no water inside the car 😀 Thanks from Tulsa Oklahoma
Hi mate, yes it ended up also being the rubber "nipple" at the end of the drain from the sunroof. The nipple is located in the same area as my video shows. The nipple had blocked with dirt so the water was backing up to the sunroof and dripping into the car. The inside of the car has dried out so no more problems. 👍
Conor Kelly Hi mate how did you clean the blocked ‘nipple’? Did you have to remove it or did you flush it from the drain next to the sunroof? I have the exact flooding issues, just waiting on a windscreeen wiper removal tool and im going to have a look!
Hi mate, if you squeeze the nipple with your fingers the dirt will fall out, assuming there is water blocked in it. After I rubbed it the pressure was like a mini water fall when it was released.
Conor Kelly Thanks for getting back to me. I have tried without removing the wipers and one side is easier to access than the other. The blockage is on the hard to reach side (typical!). So much for perfect German engineering lol.
@@conor_kelly ah. Carpets still wet. Too cold for dehumidifier. She won’t take it off the road to get the wipers off and carpets out. Might purchase an eNiro or Kona.

Glad the video could help, from Sydney Australia 👍
Legend... have my foot well upended... looked like the water was coming in trough the loom... looked under the wiper trims and it pooled... cheers
Glad you got sorted mate
Well done, thanks, why VW don't have a removable inspection cover that can easily be removed for routine preventative cleaning.
The mind boggles
Thanks very much Conor great video
Worked perfectly thanks man!
You're very welcome
Hi, got the issue was thinking of sticking a jet wash and blowing everything out that way. Bad idea maybe?
I think it's a good idea buddy
Any idea where to find a new cover for the blower motor??? at 3:00
Mate a breakers would be your best bet I think. Plenty of golfs around for breaking (where I am at least)
Many thanks.
Did you solve the issue of water getting inside?

From memory, the nipples are accessible without wind screen wipers removed. And I believe this is the main source of problems
