  • Just a few short years ago Elke Pollak found herself in the battle of her life. With Herself.
Elke had just had a beautiful baby boy and while everyone around her was so joyful, her world was falling apart.
This is Elke's story of resilience and perseverance.
Elke has since started an organization to help those struggling with PPD.
Tikvaseinu is there there to provide critical resources and support to women struggling with perinatal mood and anxiety disorders. They aim to provide exceptional care, as they partner with women on their journey toward recovery.

What is postpartum depression? Postpartum depression (also called PPD) is a medical condition that many women get after having a baby. It's strong feelings of sadness, anxiety (worry) and tiredness that last for a long time after giving birth.

Such an important episode. Job very well done Elky you are a true woman of valor to stand up to the challenge and to be able to put yourself back into a very very hard situation inorder to help others. May haShem give you the strength to continue in your work. I am a doula and I am very careful to teach my clients about post partum depression. I do want all mothers going through this to know the following 1. It's not your fault 2. even though you don't see the light at the end of the tunnel you will! 3. There are plenty of people going through this you are not alone. 4. NEVER give yourself a time frame of when you will feel better. It is two steps forward and one step back. Chazak v'ematz

women always seem to watch after each other. But a man whom suffers suffers alone . all my life I've suffered alone . I've been in bed since august and didn't relieve any community help .some people visited me but no one cooked and cleaned for me or helped me shower . I've lost 50kilo

Hashem should watch over you. What country and city do you live in so that you can get the help you need?

That's really sad. Have you reached out to people asking for help? Most people dont magically recieve help, they need to ask for it. Which seems to be harder for men to do than it is for women...especially mothers who usually do it for their children
