Thank you very much for this! Discussions like this really creates a dialogue around postpartum depression, particularly among Black women. I have witnessed women close to me really struggle with emotional difficulties during and after pregnancy and find it hard to make sense of their experience or even feel like their feelings are valid. I find this very empowering x

I don't mean to offend anyone, that was my experience with with birth control. I had so many side effects yet I was told just keep taking them. I started seeing a natural path and within a month I was able to balance the imbalance naturally. We need to do our research, and remember not everything works the same for everyone!

Parents are responsible for the well being of our children. We need to educate ourselves about child development vs listening to the stigmatizing messages for our culture.

Such a blessing to have this info& support. I believe I had it w my daughter 20+yrs ago& postpartum wasn't talked about. It ruin my marriage because it wasn't known. I wish I had this information then. They used to put women on Prozac w no solution which led to alot of women committing suicide. I refuse to take it but it was years of hell with no support system. Im glad you got better. Keep getting ur message out.

I’m a Veteran and the VA wanted to put me on Prozac. I refused. I’ve been dealing with post partum since my daughter has been 4 months. She’s 4 now and still deal with it. The whole pandemic and me not having my job now because of the pandemic (again) has been super stressful. This video is enlightening because I don’t want my daughter or myself in no damn system.

I have five kids. 17,16,16,13&9. I had postpartum depression. At times it tries to rear it's ugly head. But, *God* .

Say it louder!!! I got it with my second. Think I might’ve had it with my first but “powered through” cause I was told black ppl don’t get that. The toxicity of it all. I choose Jesus and thank Him for even the help he provides here on earth for us who struggle. A lot of times it’s not a one and done thing either. It can and will longer especially if you have history of it in your family.

Even in this message I can still hear the struggle to even use the terminology. Calling “it” by name helps. Thank you for your truth 🙏🏾

Really appreciate this conversation. Regarding the village...it can be hard when people don't want to help because they feel like they didn't get support or anyone who offered to watch their kids so why should they help you.

I love to hear conversations of this nature, especially within the black community because sometimes it feels like we're scared to share our negative experiences in fear of appearing weak 😫. Love this chanel 🥰 and all the love behind it. If anyone is ever down and wants a pick me up, check out some of my videos 😌😅💛

I think she was referring to her daughter being too cute to be in the system, she said “you’re too cute”.

And she is too cute to be in the system. A beautiful woman with a beautiful daughter. I feel the same way.
