"The best a man can get" is a beard..so I guess the whole campaign is void.
Youre the hero we dont deserve mate
Turnah81 beards are for beta nerds to hide their no chin and use Axe deo. True alpha chads clean shave, have a wide variety of toiletries and have a handsome chin 💪🏻

alot of these soyboys cant grow beards sucks for them i guess . possibly too much estrogen not sure .
@@jimmymckay73 If only plant estrogen had literally any affect whatsoever on the human body, lol. Shockingly, "soy boys" don't exist.
As an Asian person I am deeply offended in the lack of representation in this commercial. It's like hello?! I like to BBQ, I'm a dirtbag, I mansplain... where's my guy in this commercial. Racism
@Marc Rossbridge. A lot of South Asians can grow good facial hair. I'm of Pakistani ethnicity but can naturally grow a beard that is full and thick and not patchy although I choose to keep it stubble sort of length because it looks better for me. I definitely have a shit load of leg hair too haha. Chinese are not so good at growing facial hair.
@Marc Rossbridge sure.. I'm with you. I have so little facial hair that my razor actually gets sharper every time I use it... but this commercial isn't selling blades, it's letting the world know masculinity is toxic... and going by the population.. there's over 4 billion asians.. that means we have more dirtbags per capita than any other continent
@@versioncity1 He means actual asians, not the middle easterns that get lumped in with them.

@FredFlinstone'sSmokingAddiction I still see their razors on sale all the time lmao
What about this made you feel attacked?
@@wildo4459 I never said I felt attacked, I said that they basically attacked their main buyers meaning men and I’m not a man.

"The internet is an attention economy" very quotable
Sounds like barbie talk! Very intellectual!
Ry Mo reverse racism? Thats just fucking racism buddy. To be racist you only need to hate one! Race. If thats white people thats racism.
"The best a man can get" was about the quality of their razor product relative to competing razor products. It was about the _product_ not the _customer_ .
Now it has been perverted into being about the customer. They want _me_ to feel bad about myself while at the same time suggesting to others that I'm deserving of shame, and therefore it's game-off for me.
Down with Gillette. They crossed a line which I'll never forgive them for.
Very interesting commentary, Ozzy Man. Cheers.

It has to do with shaving off men’s testicular region
CASPER 12345 well one you should be aware that women go through significantly more razors on average annually than men do. And two there are a lot of men who are feminists and agree with the message. I loved the "Attention based economy" explanation. Well done.
I am a woman who worked in construction for over 20 years. While I was often stereotyped as gay, it didn’t take long for people to see that I was (and am) not. My appreciation for men grew exponentially when I worked alongside them, and the respect I earned was deserved for being a woman in a tough trade. I was harassed at times and I quickly learned how to deal with it - when to handle it myself and when to get someone involved to put a stop to it if I couldn’t. Men and women are invaluable to each other and blurring lines makes the waters muddy and people confused about how unique each gender is, losing opportunities to recognize and appreciate those characteristics.

I've been growing a beard for a long time, so forgot how expensive razors can get. Recently clean shaved and went to the supermarket to get some new razors - saw the prices and decided that it was better to go back to having a beard lol. I know it doesn't have much to do with the topic but still, razors are friggin expensive for what they are.
Honestly, the wrestling in the yard is a right of passage to most kids. That’s not really toxic, that’s just brothers. Also teaches forgiveness
Not even just brothers. I'm female and my brother and I wrestled constantly when we were little. I did the same with others in the smaller grades. Though, granted, in the case of my brother it was more him being an annoying, older brother putting me in a headlock, than it being for fun like when I wrestled with others. Lol.
@@Avarioth It makes funny stories to tell your wives and kids when your older😂
It also teaches limits.

Ozzy man would sort Brexit out in two minutes
Can he go for prime minister in new Zealand too?
Man I wish other corporate companies would do such a good job of sinking their own boats.
Love the insights, hard not to get sucked in to Terry Crews he knows how to keep it blended
The boys weren't even fighting? Just a wrestle in the backyard, nothing wrong with that!
Feminist Faith Feel Goodismsers need to eradicate such behavior. It is a threat to their existence in their snowflake minds.
I think the reason the fighting shown in the commercial seems so mundane is they probably didn't want to accidentally injure the child actors in the commercial.
Really it lessens the impact of the point they're trying to push.
I'm a woman. When and if I have kids (girls and boys) they can wrestle and play as hard as they want (if they get hurt, well that's how they learn) but I won't allow my kids to get in an argument and decide to angrily fight with each other or a friend. Growing up with the mentality that that's an option is just detrimental to the relationships they will have as teenagers and adults
they weren't wrestling. They was wrassling. :P lol gotta add the southernism.
some of you are so stupid...
“I’m being sarcastic” understatement of the 21st century lol
Is there anything more patronizing than a corporation like Gillette latching onto the latest “movement “ to sell products?
My only question here is who will buy their product now?
This commercial was the sole reason I moved over to Single edge razors. Sure my face is bleeding constantly, but at least I'm not supporting this corporate agenda.
This is so dumb
@@cecillelopez7487 what was dumb was having an ad that shaved 8 billion from said company puta😂
I'm constantly surprised by just how smart and sharp Ozzy Man really is. It's easy to forget that when you're laughing your head off at a koala trying to escape bad koalas.
That's very try lo ozzy man is a very intelligent an socially aware person who knows how to approach a subject in a far an reasonable way you when he's not savagely roasting videos with satire lol but even then it's usually pretty accurate
I mean those books behind him isn’t for show off though
That was almost exactly my thought while watching this video.
I'm a fairly new subscriber but the more I watch Ozzy the more I realize he is extremely smart and aware. For the controversial topics he uses comedy to lessen the blow while still making a statement. He tells it like it is while making us laugh. Laughter is the best medicine and Dr. Ozzy is very good at what he does!
I've just found him and have been binge watching. He's hilarious. Many comedians are very smart. The funny ones anyway.
If somebody would have stopped me from going after a pretty girl after I saw her, I wouldn't have my 3 awesome kids or a pretty wife. Been together 12 years now
I agree. If im being honest i dont mind the idea behind this ad but it wasnt executed correctly and that scene you are reffering to is a good example of bad execution.
A guy at a club who is drunk and wont take no for an answer would have been a better example as that is a much stronger message of taking responsibility.
He's not talking about regular dudes like you that just want to connect. Believe me, there is always that one weirdo in a club that understands statistics & probability a little too well, is making his circles/rounds around 4 women, actively trying to get them wasted and get laid. THAT is toxic.
@@MareNectaris What about the chicks who get wasted for the same reason? Most stories end in regret though, some not. I think this add goes too far, I wrestled with my elder sister, why can't boys exercise their strength? Those times brought me closer to my mates (sis maybe not, but she's cool). Sitting your fat ass on a couch is toxic - BBQ = AWESOME!! Giving your partner a kiss with clean shaven face = Awesome - stick to that imo.
That was the worst part of the advert; pissing on the art of a man pursuing a pretty woman he's interested in.
Nobody is stopping anyone from talking to someone of the opposite sex. Just don't be an asshole. Respect the other person as a person, no matter the sex.
Why is that difficult or trigger-worthy for some people is befuddling.
Well you hit on the key note "We can think for ourselves" you are God Damn right we I do not need a commercial to do that for me.

Probably to be PC with the numerous vegan crowd.
@@MadManchou fuck the vegan crowd! There's only ONE thing a barbeque should be used for, and that's cooking meat, with veggies grilling on the fringes of the barbeque. They don't deserve to be the center of attention on any grill!

The new bullies are the SJWs that made this ad.
It’s really not that way. The ad is alright I think it’s a bit exploitative trying to use people’s sympathies and morals to make a buck but the ideas aren’t bad. And sjws you gotta realise are real people to they’re frustrated and are expressing that. The methods aren’t perfect and there is some collateral damage. If what you say is right and they hate white men it’s not all white men but their own idea and conception of them of white men as a group. I've stopped using those fancy modern double/triple blades shaver for a year now. Too expensive for just a 3 pieces of the shaver head per pack.
Currently using those traditional single double edge blade shaver that my grandad used. One tiny box contains at least 5 individual blades, only cost less than $3 in my area.
Also no issue having hair stuck in between blades, hence no need to tap the shaver on the sink to get them out.

3:05 I'm 47 and I've NEVER heard a guy talk over a woman in a meeting and pat her on the arm. NEVER. Maybe this is what happens in Gillette.
I'm 34 and it's happened to me and I've seen it more times than I can count. Maybe not the touching part, but talking over or rewording/repeating ideas and taking credit happens all the time.
I'm 28 and I've been pat on my shoulder, on my thighs/legs, kissed on the cheek by my boss, I could go on. Mostly happens in private settings. Just because you've never seen it does not mean it doesn't happen.
Seen it a dozen times. Mainly from 2 people. 1 sales manager in particular was horrible to women. They never pat them on the arm but they did almost exactly what the video portrayed. Talked down to them, and were extremely dismissive in meetings. Not saying it's an every man problem, but I've never seen a woman do it. Have had a female manager crazy guilty of nepotism though.
@@MareNectaris and he's still your boss? Wow....hope not
I'm 38 and I've seen people reword/repeat ideas and take credit for women's ideas many times in meetings. I've been patted by older men at work, I was referred to as a girl for all of my twenties and well into my 30s during meetings (or even worse, 'one of our girls back in the office' while at client meetings where I'm actually the one who produced the content of the report we're having the meeting about), and have silently sat through situations where I'm described as 'looking after' a project but a man is 'taking the lead' on a similar project in a similar role. That said, in recent years I've also had a man interrupt a meeting to force the room to listen to and genuinely consider my idea, I'm now described as a 'project lead' when I am one and I haven't had to cope with someone in a position of power calling me a good girl for a long time. I do have hope for the next generation of men and women to be better than we've ever been before. It's made such a difference to my confidence and I think even my work output to be treated with respect and included in a team. I hope this is the normal for men and women in the future. I don't doubt that you've never witnessed this behaviour but I do doubt that it's never happened in any of your workplaces. It could be that you weren't picking up on what can be subtle yet still powerful, or maybe people have been doing it when you aren't around to hold them accountable. Just because you haven't personally witnessed it does not mean it's not a lived experience for many of us. I hope you can consider the possibility that our experiences have been different but they are both still true.

I grew up in a family with 3 other brothers. Fighting/yelling happens a lot and is a part of brotherhood and growing up together. At the end of the day we still love each other and would go to lengths to protect one another.
Fighting with your brother(s) helps you understand your capabilities of being cruel and inflicting pain. Which in turn teaches you how to control your emotions and regulate your force when getting into an altercation.
If you have ever play fought with a younger kid/toddler you will notice that most of the time they will end up kicking you in the face or slapping you way too hard because they haven't yet learned how to control that part of themselves. It takes trial and error and accidentally hitting someone too hard (in a playful capacity) to understand that your actions have consequences.
Outside of playful interactions there is still an argument to be made. Sometimes two people dont get along until they knock some sense into each other. I've had best friends fight physically, get over it, and realize they really don't want to fight anymore because they know they work better together. Yes, boys will be boys. Don't lump that in with perverts and douchebags that dont treat male or females right. Shittiest ad I've seen in awhile. I'll take the Kendal jenner Pepsi ad Part 2 over this
hey I agree with your statement, but in the ad the boy was beaten up, not playfully fighting (at least that's how I saw it in the ad)
@@celseac8107 the kids were smilling
What's wrong with two boys fighting? Rough housing has always been a thing. Are kids no longer allowed to play?
Because when two adults fight, it's assault and illegal. So teaching your kids that violence is fine is stupid. Now teaching them self defense so they aren't helpless is a good thing, but never encourage violence. Lord knows there's more than enough hate and violence in the world as it is.
No they have to play dress up and put make up on eachother because roughhousing is too manly.

Boys will be girls.

Best review of this ad that I have seen.
Every man with a pair boycotted Gillette after this commercial, that’s a fact jack!
The ad completely ignored that women too can exhibit such toxic behaviours, and that most men already call each other out. Boys wrestling does not equate to inherent toxicity.
Not at all. Just because the message is for men does not rule out the toxic behaviours of women. It is simply a call for them to be better. Also the wrestling is oversimplified, wrestlinng in itself is alright, but they can be fighting over a toy or something. Lets always keep an open mind
@@pardsmcgee2924 Whom are you trying to fool though? Do you really think the people who made this would ever connect all those negative connotations with femininity in the same casual / blanket way like they do here?
I mean... "some already do". Some. A select few. The rest of men-kind who does not fit their image and vigurously grovels in agreement is dogshit in their eyes - and they want everyone to think the same. To see half the population as guilty until proven otherwise, for the crime of being born male, or even worse, male and white. With the most radical elements fancying themselves the judges.
@@ViolosD2I Ya~ it's disappointing in it's double-standards and taking a step back in history~ it's like nothing has been learnt from the past. As Crowder noted the other day, Does a multi-million dollar corporation have only to say what others want to hear, to be one-of-the-good-guys now...? Raise the bar ~:-)
Women have enough advertising telling us we can/do/need to be better. I don’t see men up in arms about the toxicity of the beauty fashion industry targeting women? And the way they target us is to buy into their nonsense that we need their product to be prettier so society will love us. This ad targets men to say: don’t be a bystander, because you are better & we can all be better human beings. But yeah, poor f*cking men here.
@@kildareire you make a good in that, these commercials are still just, corperate propaganda with the main purpose of getting its target audience to believe the product is the answer. It's all lies to begin with, and here the whole internet is, taking it seriously.
Of course there is no reference to toxic femininity, women aren't they're target audience. Of course white men are the bad guys, white people are the least likely to give a shit and ruin profits with protest and boycotts. And why would they even think about using an entire race to hold a mirror to, when that would literally ostracize a 1/8 or better of their potential profits, when they could instead advertising to half the fucking world. I don't think these ads are as big of a problem so much as what it is we as a collective choose to give a shit about and try to change.
Not once until now have I heard mainstream shit legitimately advertise raising our kids better.
That's a goal and stance I'll choose

Initially because your looks and humor I tough you were a low life of some sort. But man, you have some very sharp intelectual skills while also being pragmatic honest and funny.

Gillette... Not something a man will get, again.
Or a woman...I was a Mach-3 user forever before this.
@@ReikiontheRun They really fcked up
@Loral Anthalas yup that was my take as well!
The joke's on Gillette. Little do they know, I only use their product to shave the heads of those I torment.
100th like! Awesome joke mate!
In my opinion Gillette was already doing enough! Their products are mainly used to shave balls to cater women's preferences
@@frnmsr5573 fuck, you caught me!
I only shave my balls with it. I fucking love my beard!
Yeah I use 'em on Alvin and the Chipmunks too
In the end people will wonder what they sell.
Don't think much of the add but your video dissecting it Rocks. 👍
