Former flight attendant here...PLEASE make it a habit to always wear your seatbelt during the flight. You never know what can happen ... planes skid off runways, bumpy weather can toss you out of your seat, loss of altitude, etc.

You fail to understand HOW the chain of command works. At that level, General Austin abrogated his responsibility to inform the President of his hospitalization. THAT is unacceptable.

I flew SW from San Diego to Portland. I caught the expression of the pilot. He was cautious and determined leaving blue skies. We immersed into pressure rain but arrived early. His door open, the pilot had a note mindset of relief success. Portland had ocean air

Room was probably the most private one. And helped accommodate his Secret Service. Between Secret Service and the government hospital, enough people aware in case Austin could no longer do his job.

Pretty sure the HIPAA privacy rule applies to politicians too. And it wasn't a "full three days" if he was admitted on the evening of the 1st and let people know on the 4th. He should have made sure Hicks was aware he was transferring authority to her immediately (or maybe that was a failure on someone else's part who was supposed to be relaying the info); otherwise, this is much ado about nothing.
