- Hey guys, today I am coming at you with another FFXIV video, this time it's A Complete Guide to the Island Sanctuary, part one, this will continue on as I work on my island sanctuary itself, so come along with me!

for the workshops agenda if you alternate between items like the potion and fire sand, you’ll get an efficiency bonus :)
I got a bonus too starting on earrings going from that to necklace and from that to macahutli. I wouldn't be surprised if there aren't longer chains too that give efficiency bonuses.
@@anthonydelfino6171 It has to do with the item tags. If they match the previous item, efficiency goes up
@@Salt_Mage thanks! I pieced that together since commenting. I'm finding that if you have the recipies doing a 4-6-8-6 hour rotation of items fills in the entire day with efficiences triggered on the final three.

From what I understand, the rare animals are apparently meant to provide guaranteed rare materials. As for the rare animals I've found, and what triggers their spawns:
Apkallu of Paradise: 12pm-3pm Eorzea Time
Ornery Karakul: Fair Skies weather
Star Marmot: 9am-12pm Eorzea Time
Lemur: 6am-9am Eorzea Time

Not sure if it's been mentioned yet but there also spawns a Black Chocobo occasionally, just don't know the condition for it to spawn. If anything I've only seen it during daytime at a fair weather?

Question, I am rank 6 and have 3 workshop and 1 granary. I have seen ppl with 2 granarys but I simply dont have room for that and havent seen the option for it. Any idea why? Or is it that ppl build 2 workshops and 2 granarys?
The space for it will open up as you rank up.

So will everyones camp be the same and look the same? I thought we can customize and have differnet looks of buildings and stuff?
you probably unlock more customization down the road. Also I am positive they will expand on this in future updates.
Yeah everyone is going to look the same. You have a limit to how many skins we have. At Rank 5, I've only upgraded my main hub once and can choose between 2 skins. The first and then the second. There is also the ability to make dirt paths become grass again, but you need island prisms which I think you can only get from expeditions and they are rare. So at most, there is probably going to be 3 or 4 skins to choose from, which will cover all the ranks, which si currently a max of 10.
@@iceman3317 you probably figured this out but island prisms can be crafted or bought on the market board. Uses clear prisms and high durium ingots/palm lumber/pewter ingot/luncheon toad leather/… a materiel depending on which class you are using.
Do we know what the time gate is? Weekly/Daily?
For resources from animals, it seems to be daily. From plants, Yoshi-P mentioned it being something you check once a week, so it might be weekly.

for rare animal spawns i failed a "Apuker(spelling? its the penguin thing) of Paradise on the far side of the island
ah yes, the Apkallu of Paradise. I know that pain, I used 7 nets on one of those things and it still ran away =/ I got lucky when I found my second one though, caught it right away. So keep at it
someone told me landmarks reduce the amount of time it takes for other stuff to build
They don’t. They do increase max groove for workshops and the amount of supplies (non rare items) from foraging expeditions (granary).
I had to make my Landmark to lvl up to lvl 5
This is to relax and not to farm the life out on it on day one lol
There's nothing relaxing about it I was on it all day today and it was a living hell leveling sucks worse than anything. I am trapped at level 4 with no hopes of hitting five I've done all the available crafting all that's left is gathering stuff and that doesn't get you anything for experience I have no idea how I'm going to get hit five to even continue my progress at this point I'd rather be doing old school diadem

As far as i can tell the meta-game points of the workshops will be how many you can fit on that sheet, the materials needed, chaining together the material types, and watching the market so you dont flood and make them worthless. Seeing you put two potions and two firesands on the same workshops hurt me physically, though.

@@SixxAxxiS I am not sure that is what they meant. I think they were just saying that they hated that mostly everyone is at that point. If they meant degrading, then I totally don't agree with them. But I feel like they meant something else like.... *sigh everyone is there but not me* or *everyone has the same set up*
@@iceman3317 I meant that it was degrading to say that 99% of people are there when that's literally not the case lol most of us have lives and don't have time to mindlessly farm and just wanted a simple video to teach us the basics. It's genuinely rude to rush through content and then be like LOL you're not here a majority of us are already at this point! It's meant to be a casual and fun experience. I understand he didn't mean for it to come off that way, but it did.
I had to stop watching because even just reading the tutorial and the guide book THE GAME PROVIDES, I was able to catch multiple mistakes or incorrect pieces of information he provided. If you are watching this I would find a different guide unless you want to be mislead.
For those wondering what he said was wrong; The rest cycles are entire days not time blocks, based on time zone during, the days. The "season" is a week period and the 1-7 days are each day of the week. This is a Tuesday-Monday schedule so when you block out 6 and 7 like he did you, are stopping crafting on Sunday and Monday of that week.
The second part he was "guiding" us wrong with is how he had his production set up... he showed it on screen even though he did go into it (probably because he has no idea what the hell he is talking about). The tutorial goes over it, it's pretty simple. Craft alternating items of the same crafting category to gain an efficiency bonus. Even with what he is making he can almost double his ENTIRE production of the exact same items by just doing potion > firesand >potion > firesand. The only one that WONT get the efficiency bonus is the first item crafted each day.
I'm sorry to anyone reading this that thinks I'm being rude... I'm just tired of content creators releasing videos about subjects they don't understand at the fastest pace they can instead of taking the time to actually learn and putting out ACCURATE guides. He has in one video guaranteed I will never watch any more of his content because I no longer trust him as a source of information.
I mentioned in the video that there's still work to be done optimizing it, don't worry, I'll go into more and more accurate detail about specifically the workshops
They made the only interesting part overcomplicated, and the rest is boring. Massively disappointing.
What a tedious and time intensive BS ... ... It's gonna be torture to do all this stupid stuff...

@@tristenj1992 Since the items you get in there (hairs, glams, mounts, minions, etc.) are non-tradeable, it's pretty much mandatory... I wouldn't mind paying ridiculous amounts of money for that stuff on the MB ... but this farm-game BS is the worst ..
@@sleepfishl The game needed more content in my opinion - something different. As a more casual player I am very happy with this but its not for everyone.
While I agree it is going to be torture. And I think they should just completely get rid of green shell currency, Yoshi P said it wasn't going to be for everyone. If it isn't your cup of tea, then don't do it. So what if you don't get 3 or 4 mounts and a set of cosmetic gear that everyone will wear then forget about. There is plenty of other things to do. Not everything has to be made for YOU or people like you.
