They're so brave going up on that hot roof. Massive respect to them all.
Thanks for sharing this piece of new!
How are all these fires starting? So many lately.
Anything west of DTLA and South of DTLA can be blamed on the lack of gentrification.
I like Stu's commentary better than Desmond's
Because of the pitch on that roof they have to use a roof ladder, (has hooks on top), so they can vent somewhat safely. Roof position is the most dangerous for FFs.
12:58 I WANT SOME GUACAMOLE TOPPINGS😐
Where is it exactly
Dems gonna be like it’s climate change
Some people just can’t leave politics well enough alone. SMH.
Dems be like racism caused this fire.
@@nala3038is it political if it’s a real life thing?! 😂

Rats love rhe insulation on the older" tube and nail " wiring ...( pre 1940) .... asphaltum black tape insulation. When the insulation is gone...then the wires short on each other. Or candles ...
Thumbs up!
Someone overcooked Korean BBQ
It’s called Koreatown but 75% of the residents these days are non-Korean. Mostly Latino.
God bless the firefighters man and woman thank you for being of service
The news media cynically turning upsetting or tragic event into the watch show and then asking rhetoric question why everyone is such a heartless a..hole
All fire departments nationwide cut holes in the roof to get the heat out and fight the fire not something unique to LAFD
This is what happens when you build house's or apartments on top of each other
😢
Typical of LA firefighters, 1st on the roof and never any water on what's actually causing the smoke until they've opened up all the rooftops so all the fire can destroy the house
The primary job of the truck crew is to ventilate. Proper ventilation can make a huge difference. The truck's ladder isn't always feasible with trees, hydro wires etc.. plus this is a one story house so regular ladders work fine.
I couldn’t tell exactly, but it looked like they may have had as many as 3 hose lines stretched. Definitely two.
If i was a safety officer at this fire i would never let these ff up on the roof. Working from an aerial platform yes but not on the roof itself.
Not worth the risk here.
@eriksand9262
If you understood the difference between tower ladders and aerial ladders then you would know why LAFD uses what they do.
They are well trained in working on steep roofs…
They drill constantly for different scenarios…
