Hey Max, I checked out the BT-Moto ECU reflash on your channel and saw something about U.S. models only and I am in Canada. I contacted BT-Moto and they assured me it would work on Canadian bikes as well. I found a distributor in Winnipeg, Manitoba and they ordered it for me. Confirming my order and sending me the new map only took a couple of hours and I installed it today. I am impressed in how smooth the shifting is now. I doubt I will ever try to see how fast I can get it to, but it should be about 2x our speed limit. Enjoy your channel. Thanks for the info you provide.
Thanks Max! I picked up the Tuner from the shop on Monday, read bike and uploaded file on Tuesday, had file and bike was flashed with new file by Wednesday. It really was not all that difficult, but it was unnerving making sure to HOLD the switch to the off position. However, with your videos making us all aware of where that was really needed, it took away all the apprehension of performing the flash. All in all it was NOT that difficult of a process, IF, IF, you watch a few videos, read the instructions. NOW on to the results. Wow, what a difference. Having a 6-speed with Traxxion suspension upgrade, I never really had much issue with Sport mode. Yeah it was a little clunky on-off throttle, but the suspension took care of a lot of that. NOW with the flash upgrade, the on-off throttle is even better, and the POWER delivery is amazing. Sport Mode is totally usable (user-friendly) and the bike is a rocket ship. Thanks again Max, for offering the product and showing how to use it.
So psyched for you and your team do this on my '24 in a couple of weeks, Max! Between the BT Moto and the Mega Monty suspension, it'll be a whole new bike. 🤘😎
Max, I could not agree more with yours and Bobby Ray's comments and they are very similar to the comments I sent you a few days ago after I performed my first test drive post ECU flash. As I mentioned, Sports mode is now Vicious!
@@Traxxion I can only imagine! I was was speechless the first time I rolled the throttle back in Sport mode. I will spend the majority of my rides in Tour mode which too has been greatly improved, especially in 7th gear and throttle roll on.
Wonderful info, Max. I want to do the flash but there is no option for those of us who use Mac Computers. Wish there was a solution other than trying to find someone with a PC who would loan it to me. Does BT Moto give the option of sending the ECU directly to them to flash? Love all your stuff, Max. Keep them coming!!
I'll apologize in advance if these questions have been raised and answered already. I have an 01 DCT Tour. In stock trim, the low-speed throttle response is a bit unpredictable, and "snatchy". Using rain mode helps this a bit. Does this upgrade address this snatchiness? Having unpredictable throttle response is annoying at low speeds, ESPECIALLY two-up. The throttle is a bit touchy in sport mode, I seem to have heard the this mod smooths that out quite a bit. Next, Once the ECU has been reflashed, can it be easily returned to OEM mapping without a bunch of effort? Lastly, has anyone noticed any appreciable difference in fuel mileage? I don't care about removing the limiter, etc., but I'd be interested in smoothing out the rough edges in the mapping - maybe how an OEM would do it if the government didn't have their nose in it. Thanks for any input -
Yes, it very specifically smooths out throttle jumpiness. It only affects Tour and Sport Modes. Increase in fuel economy is pointless to talk about since no two people ride alike and environments are completely different. It does offer an almost 10% power increase all across the range. Once both tunes are in the Handheld, you can switch back and forth easily without any interaction from a PC or BT Moto.
That's our core business. The rest of this is all ancillary. Changing the shocks out on the bike will support it dramatically better under cornering loads, without really moving the seat height.
No. Watch all four parts of this video series and you will see the entire process. It does mean that they don't need to have your ECU in their hands, and the new file will come back quickly, within a day typically.
Ok, I thought that since they have the ECU references, they would send the update within the flash... another question, how much does it cost? I live in Spain, would there be any problem?... thanks...!!
@@lucasandresmartinez402 They are $800 USD. They have many European specs. Do you have a DCT? If so, you can see the ECU part number the way I demonstrated.
@@Traxxion I never stated that I thought that's what is going to happen nor do I think that's gonna happen, I just made a statement of possible concern as I see engines detonate all the time when you change stock timing fuel and air wether by mechanical means or computer tuning. @@adamt581 Yes if you are tuning a carbureted 1975 CB750 with mechanical ignition advance by the seat of your pants. But we're not working on vintage bikes under a shade tree. I agree, this upgrade is even more "useable" on a 6-speed... it polishes the Wing into a slick weapon!
Again another technical impression carried out by Max.👏

Sorry, not that I know of. I will inquire about that so I know.
This is the payoff: a more powerful and responsive bike with a much smoother and useable Sport mode. Definitely a major upgrade!
I actually found it even more fun on a 6-speed, or if I drove the DCT in manual shift mode.

Hi Max, just an out of context question. Do you guys have any product to increase the ground clearance of Goldwing?
