    To all the people talking about water going in your engine. Please take a moment to understand how the engine works. The air goes from the intake filters through the hot pipes to the even hotter turbos then to the hot charge pipe into the hot intercooler then finally the engine. Unless your car is literally under water there will be no water in your engine.

    Nice video and thanks for sharing! I’m a new guy to tune worlds so from what I understand about this video is that if install the cold air intake onto a stock car it might not work really well, but if to install it to a tuned car like stage2 downpipes with the ECU tune then it will work really well and gain a good result of horsepower. Am I correct?

    Even on mustang dynometers f8x make 390whp and on dynojets they make 420whp. You're supposed to dyno these in 5th as its 1:1 ratio, you guys dynod in the wrong gear.

    • @vivid_racing
      @vivid_racing  6 років тому +9

      Disagree. We dyno in 4th as 5th gear is to high of a speed and really not safe on the dyno. What matters is the delta not the peak number. And you have to remember we are running 91 octane with ambient temperature of near 110F here in Arizona! Neither of those are a turbos friend.

    • @fpsgamingcashcups
      @fpsgamingcashcups 6 років тому +14

      Vivid Racing The delta is what matters when you’re comparing stock to modified but the numbers are more susceptible to error if you don’t dyno in a 1:1 gear. You’re mentioning the intake adds around 17rwhp which is impossible, I’ve seen many f8x dynos on pump gas and those numbers vary greatly from your results. The temperature doesn’t mean anything since as you said you’re comparing the delta in the same conditions, the point is the numbers are way more reliable and consistent in 5th which is why every shop I know dynos these in that gear. In the real world you’re going to get around half the power gains you guys are claiming

      It maybe different for mustangs. I seen many shops for Bmw specifically do 3-4 gear pulls specifically for 3 liter inline 6 engines. V8 Mustangs are totally different you can’t compare totally cars and equipment the same.

    What abut water in the rain or washing

    • @vivid_racing
      @vivid_racing  6 років тому +2

      Rain is ok, washing is ok. The issue or assumption is that the intake would suck in all this water and blow your motor up. You would have to submerge the intake in water. So dont drive through 3 feet of water! At speeds, there is not enough water that is going to those filters. At the same time of washing, dont hold the hose on the filters and than immediately turn your car on. If you think for some reason you have gotten water in the intake, than stop and turn your car off. It would be the same for any intake on any car.

    Hmmm dynoed on the wrong gear. Should've used 5th instead of 4th gear. Wrong result. Then claimed testing ram air intake but not really performing the ACTUAL RAM AIR condition (well you'll need a really big fan with closed /sealed routing direct to the intake mouth / performs on the road testing & measures the air pressure before & after).... So this is just a video selling the product with misleading way of testing it...😁😵
