- The state of New York has introduced a bill to ban Glocks in the state. The reasoning: because of the Glock switch. Yes, because they can’t keep criminals from criminalling they are going to ban the most popular handgun, perhaps in the world. GOA. FPC, and SAF are going to wreck house on this one. They fallout from this will likely spawn the next generation of legal assets that our teams can use to defeat racist gun control efforts and further second amendment litigation and culture. The last time gun grabbers tried something this ill sighted we got the NYSRPA V Bruin.

Chicago said they are suing Glock because they allow the pistols to be converted with the NON-GLOCK manufactured switch.
What about Glock suing the city of Chicago for not locking criminals up and allowing them to use Glock pistols in crimes?
That does follow the same line of logic Chicago is using. I think it's worth a chance.
Weapons of war are military grade, which by the text of the 2A shall not be infringed. There wasn’t a standing National military until the War of 1812. All citizens kept and carried the same weapons as the most powerful military in the world then, the British.
Judging by how this country handled Afghanistan, it sure seems like our military should shut down and give the weaponry back to the citizens. It would be fun to have a Blackhawk or an F-35.
The muzzleloaders used in the Revolutionary War were "military grade weapons of war" at that time, and they were made with some pretty crappy tools and machinery by today's standards. I just shake my head when people say, "The Founders did not mean weapons of war when they wrote the Second Amendment."

That’s what both Barrett and Serbu did with California and New York banning .50 cals. They refused to sell anything to LE in either state.

the state of NY has a LOT of money to fight a lawsuit against Glock. There's a lot of tax payers left in NY to pay for it. That's why there must be a way for states that lose a case as unconstitutional, the state attorney's office, governor and state assembly and senate should have to pay back the taxpayer money they used defending it. This will stop them from using our tax money to take away our rights.
So does this apply to the NYPD? They were the first major police department to adopt the Glock Handgun for police duty.
Of course police and military would be exempt. They are all highly trained marksmen AND safety experts.😉

LMFAO, I'm not getting rid of either one of my Glocks, they weren't exactly cheap, and they didn't pay for them, I did, I worked the hours to pay for them, lol not giving them up.
The problem is they don't name Glock they name "convertible Pistols" which are any pistol that can be converted to a machine gun as defined by a convertible pistol with a pistol converter attached. This basically could openly ban all Semi-Auto pistols since the could be technically converted.

Okay, so Glock needs to PERMANENTLY cut off all agencies of the State of New York. Along with every other firearms, ammunition, and accessories manufacturers.
Not a good idea. Have to remember that Glock is a _lowest-common-denominator_ weapon. Actually designed for people that don't tend to spend much time training or maintaining (thus the popularity). Do we really want the types of incompetents occupying most "State" agencies these days (the kind that mag-dump when an acorn hits a car roof) to be using more complex, demanding firearms?
All gun manufacturers stop sales to any and all LE and military. I don’t see any politician making them.

The state needs to streamline prosecutions on purchasing and using glock switches instead of banning the Glock handgun in general and not wait for the Federal Government to do so.

Its not about winning. Its about passing legislation that looks like its progressive, and doing something. My friend asked me how they can do this. At this point its like this. Pass whatever legislation you want. Force third parties to spend money to fight against these in court. Allow for appeal. Fight appeal. As long as there is a anti gun stay in place, the law is still in effect. Thats how NYS operates.
It also won't do a thing to reduce the number of illegal machine guns in the hands of criminals. Firstly, no criminal will voluntarily turn their Glock in. Second, they will still be able to get Glocks by stealing them from the police, something they already do at alarmingly high rates. Thirdly, the number of companies that aren't Glock but make guns fully compatible with Glock parts (including said switches) guarantees the law would be ineffective even if points one and two didn't apply.

A 2011 with a Series 80 style trigger safety is even easier to convert to full auto. Snip coils off the firing pin spring until you get slam firing. Release the trigger, and the blocking pin stops the multi-pew fun.

Glock should recall every Glock issued to NY police and not give them back.
Ideally, Glock would refuse to sell, service, or provide spare parts to any LE or like governmental agencies in a jurisdiction that outlaws their weapons.
I don't care if it's common use or rarest gun ever created. They have no right limiting our rights at all.
They should also ban shotguns because criminals often cut the barrels down to make them easier to conceal…about as stupid as their striker fired ban.
Even if they did band Glocks and there were no more Glock switches or Glocks on the streets guess what they would make a switch for Kel-Tec they would make the switch for Sig they would make the switch for a Taurus really surprised it hasn't happened yet

I have friends and, cousins that live in Houston, Texas, this type of ban will never happen there, only in New York, Chicago, this silly nonsense will happen.

Massachusetts banned Glocks for purchase for all except LEO a while ago. You can have them private transferred to you or buy gen 1/2 Glocks but that’s about it.
I want to say this before I say anything. I am a legal firearm owner. I am the owner of 4 guns. I do not own any glock guns. I do feel they should be band until they fix the damn problem with those switches. The police or law enforcement should have them.

Hey, I thought the same thing about NC and VA suing the Tobacco companies. Worse than that, the Tobacco companies could not say they will not sell their products in those states. It was too much of a cash cow. Now the alcohol companies, beer, wine and spirits saw that they were next and shut it down.
The local news in Albany shows a demo of a Glock with a switch and a Drum Mag ( both banned already in NY) for effect. I am sure the effect would be different with a 10 round which is the limit in NY. So basically we are going to ban Glocks and punish us because some criminal uses a gun with 2 illegal items attached. Who would use their own licensed firearm to do this, no one that's who. What happens to my two new Glocks, they get taken away? When this gets overturned I am sure they won't be giving them back. What happen to " We just want the Assault Rifles, we will never take your Handguns"

From what I've seen, giving a banger with no shooting skills an 1100 rpm machine pistol actually makes the public safer because they already couldn't shoot straight, and automating the process only makes their accuracy even worse. You can't miss fast enough to win a gun fight.
