Thanks for this video. I may attempt mine this summer as I have 2 521's.

You're more than welcome. If you have the time, there's at least 30 more videos about the nitty gritty details. Between now and when you start the rebuild, find a local machine shop....automotive type.....that has a Sunnen hone to size the bushings after they're installed. Also...I haven't really started posting about them yet, but I get the last 10 sets (of 50) of kingpins in tomorrow. I'll be putting them up on my site and I'm sure I'll post more on YT. If you have IG or FB, I've posted some comparison vids of the kits I'm getting in. I'll be selling them way, way cheaper than the guy in Cypress. lol

Thank you very much for the informative videos. Love how you explain things to lay folk.
I have 2-521's. One for 43 yrs while the other 25 yrs. Very reliable and durable. Been cross country many times and even lived in Alaska driving it. Unfortunately, at 50yrs old, you never see them anymore even here in Washington state.
I have 4 king pin sets. To my understanding, they are not available. Do you sell the complete kingpin set or just the kingpins?
      Thanks for your help.

@@jimlegalley6656 Hi Jim, Finding them in WA isn't nearly as rare as finding anyone that's owned one, let alone two, for that long!! ...and driving back and forth across the country....Wow!!! Are you familiar with ratsun.net? Where at in WA...roughly? I'm on the east side of Portland.
They are complete kits KP-122. I'll be posting a video fairly soon, I hope, showing how the hole in the bushing is off a bit, but easily fixable. I have all 50 sets now, so hopefully, I can get some time to deal with them. I'll also be making a batch of the cotter bolts for the lower fulcrum pins that connect the dogbone to the LCA. I'm also going to order more of the shims in....waiting on a quote still.

      Hi Mr. Bluehands,
      Thanks for your response.
That most I ever paid for a motor vehicle is $1500 for the first 521 I purchased in Spokane in early 1978. Very reliable and easily repairable in addition to being modified with a ton of parts available. At 62, I did not plan on car collector but I guess I am in some respects. Keeping them in part was easy as parts were cheap and plentiful. Since my other hobby is old Japanese mtn bikes, Bridgestones, I do not drive them often as I always ride bikes not only to commute but also fir long distance touring. My previous rides were to Saskatoon, SK and Winnipeg, MB. In anycase, I always enjoyed the practical lyrics of these little rigs. I have hauled all that I owned in them traveling from job to job in the day. Currently, I'm retired here in Bellingham, WA. Lived all over the state close to you in 1990 when I lived in Vancouver, WA.
I do not use FB anymore, a time waste for me and will not use IG or other socialmedia.mefia platforms. I just wanna keep low key.
When you are ready, I will buy a few kingpin kits when you assemble all parts.
How did you become interested in posting rebuilding datsun 530/521/620 kingpin rebuilds since there are so few on the road. I now have to be concerned as

      Hi bluehands,
      My response was accidently sent.
When I drive them or take out, just have to be concerned that they are easy to be stolen. Back in the day, there were thousands of them in the pnw. Not the csse now. Though I need to paint them, they are well maintained equipped with 5 spd transmissions modernizing them.
Guess that is it for now.
Also, are you a professional mechanic machinist? My dad was a machinist for Buick motor division in flint, mi. Even, he liked my 521's.
If you provide email, I will send my phone number so we can talk sometime.
      Thanks much,

Aloha. Love your posts very informative, was wondering if you would know if I would be able to use 521/529 king pin replacement sets on my 1964 Datsun 320 due to the fact no one manufactures replacements anymore for a import car that old..

      Thanks!
The 320 and 521 kingpins are the same. The 620 is different. I show the differences in this vid.....

Here's a link to part 2....either this one or part 1 shows all three spindles.

I thought I had a vid showing the differences between the spindles, but I can't seem to find it right now.
