Love this. I started sharing videos on my UA-cam channel about how our family of 4 has made a WFPB diet work for us for the past 14 years. Keeping it simple is key. Real food is delicious.
I make my own fermented hot sauce from my garden grown peppers and red cabbage sauerkraut. So easy, so good!! I also learned to make sourdough bread and love using the ancient grains.
Since rich people in the US live 10 to 15 years longer than poor people, we need a rich-mimicking diet.

A quick comment about soy products and thyroid medication, according to the Mayo Clinic ...
"Treatment for hypothyroidism usually includes taking the thyroid hormone medicine levothyroxine (Levo-T, Synthroid, others) every day."
"Wait at least one hour after taking thyroid medication before you eat or take other medicines. That includes food or drinks that have soy in them."
I suspect Chris got into the habit of eating Lara bars when he was doing Ironman triathlons.
That was the only indulgent thing he ate or drank.

Cool, my Dad eats baloney sandwiches and at 83 looks the same age as this guy..............My neighbor's 88 and grew up eating cow blood and was out helping me chainsaw some wood a few months ago.
My grandfather lived to 97 and ate meat (but not lots, not daily) and dairy too. He didn't own a car but bicycled everywhere and they had a large garden and fruit trees.
@@snowbird6855 That's the difference. Older generations didn't eat meat 3 times a day like newer generations, and had a lot more home-cooked starch like potatoes, oatmeal, rice.
