"Secondary" Cat? Forgive me, I have an M50i..... but the only cats are in the downpipes. There's a resonator, then the muffler, then the tips. No "secondary" cats. I know European-spec models have OPFs in them...... is that what you are referring to? Or if the X5M exhaust completely different??
so yes. M models have secondary cats and resonators. I believe non M models have Primary cats and resonators. SO you just need to remove resonators to increase volume. I remember hearing the 50i model without resonators and it sounded really good.
With my F95 I have a Rev limiter, which is annoying. Because when I had my F85 the sound was so pure and if I remove the limiter from my F95. It would affect my Warranty with this car
This isn’t an I50M, this is a true M competition. The i50M, isn’t an M, it’s an M sport which has the steering wheel and that’s about it. The M has features only available on an M series, interior, suspension, engine, brakes, tune modes, wheels, brakes, front end grill lower vents for inter coolers, seats, belts….it’s a totally different car. I know because I’ve owned both.
This exhaust sounds exactly like my X5M comp, whatever was done to the exhaust needs more done, as it isn’t any different. Remove the valves and resonator possibly.
@@fabbas01 The BMW's are becoming cookie cutters like every other car. All BMW prior gens and even before, that were true driver cars. I've owned all the classics. E30 ///M3 and now I have the E39 ///M5 and the E70 X5///M . Robust and girth . I guess we all got our choices.
I think the M50 sounds more like a traditional V8, similar to an AMG. The S63tu engines sound kinda weird and more high pitched
It’s because M V8 models have a cross bank manifold. Definitely a unique sound.
@@fabbas01 idk if you still have the AMG, but can you do a rev comparison of the two if you do?
@@zhaoyangxie No, sold the AMG.
This is an M, not an i50M, which isn’t a true M.

Sounds GOOD but I know you need that FULL EXHAUST SYSTEM
Yep, definitely needs a full exhaust.
@@fabbas01 😂😂👑
Did this throw a code by removing the secondary cat? If so how did you get rid of it?
No codes. O2 sensors are on primary cats, secondary cats are not monitored so they can be removed without affecting anything.

Not much difference that I can hear. Maybe I need headphones .
Small difference but it’s definitely there. Stock is just too muted. Next is a full exhaust.
@@fabbas01 keep us posted, I’d love to hear it. I would like to have a deeper sound on mine as well but without pissing the neighbors off. Lol!
Think it’s a huge difference personally

Yeah but that’s only while revving it stationary. I am probably going to get the FI exhaust soon so it should sound amazing.
Car insurance and the car insurance and 😢on and off with the car and I will not have any further information
are there a pair of GPF in the secondary cat?
No GPF in US spec models.
@@fabbas01 Thats awesome
With just secondary downpipes do you hear the turbos spool a lot or is that for primary downpipes?
Love it, on my way to get a M50, any recommendation for the exhaust? Need to be louder
Remove resonators

@@k.c.6846 triggered much? No 5000lb M is a true M. Even my F82 isn’t “true” with EPS and turbos. Guy had a simple ? and you insecurely don’t help.
Resonator delete and if that’s not enough add muffler delete.
How would you rate the improvement? Also what is the cost to do this? Mine comes in 3 weeks!
It’s not a huge difference but definitely noticeable. This paired with exhaust should be perfect. I paid $300 for the install.
Guess what it’s 3 weeks ! Show us your beast !

BMW is King but failed on the rear of this. The E70 X5///M is still the most amazing SUV I think.
E70? Not to my eyes. I much prefer this version over the others. I never liked any of the previous X5’s until this generation launched.
