It's something musically extrodinary about this later live version of Aretha Franklin's performance of Respect. It's soulful and absolutely beautiful ❤❤❤
A good friend of mine toured with her in her final years and her very last concert. He did say that towards the end it was difficult for her to sing. I wouldn’t care. There will never be another like her
I love ❤️ the Queen of Soul, she's a real trail blazer 🎉🎉. She is the one who introduced soul to another level 🎉🎉. RIP,Queen of Soul, you're singing in heaven now 💖 💙 ❤️ ♥️ 💕
The Queen has that little Sassiness about her when she sings “RESPECT” this is something that she and everybody should demand in any relationship. Sing it Ree Ree.
compare this to 1967 respect and you can see the huge difference. sadly Ree started losing her gospel voice in the 80s onwards. but she will always be queen
She did say she wished she had never smoked because of the affect it had on her voice . I`m glad that she did finally quit smoking even though it took 30 years to do so, But speaking of this particular performance, I`ve heard her sound much better in other live performances during this time and afterwards as well.... This was just not a good vocal day for her and also this was shortly before her cancer diagnosis.
He voice definitely changed, but it still kept its SOUL. unfortunately in this period of her life she was extremely overweight (and had cancer?) which affects the lungs which is needed to really POWER. That said she did amazing.
The most noticeable difference is her excessive use of falsetto here, and a series of changes in her singing voice led to it. In the early to late 70s, her voice was more nasal, and in the 80s her voice was more lower and raspy and less powerful. Her voice recovered eventually after she quit smoking but after smoking for almost 40 years, she wasn’t going to sound like she did in the 60s.
Exactly. Thank you. She will always be the Queen of Soul, that touched all of ours. Statements I have made are my personal opinion. Rest in Peace Aretha. You are missed and loved ❤✌️❤️🌼 @@whitediamond000
@@joekeegans8820 Yes she's the Queen and very beauitful but with age, It just doesn't look to good unless your arms are nice and tight. She needed a truthful stylist.
The one who paved the way for all the other ones coming...aint nobody like Retha...class act and pure raw talent!!!...The best ever!!
The Queen of soul. I am inspired by her songs.
I love when she throws it back with her classic little sassy hand on hip move from the 60's. She seems like a very classy woman.
There will never be another like her.
Long live the Queen of Soul, forever❤❤❤

La più grande voce femminile di sempre
She had a cold when she originally recorded this in ‘67

She never lost her Gospel influence
@@popland1977 no one said she did🤨

This is also the reasons why we smile...

Loved me some Aretha however she wasn't a polished dresser. . .
She was the Queen and she could dress any way she wanted to !!!
Aretha walked so Lizzo could run.
Oh please, Lizzo is nowhere near this level, you don't compare a Jester to a Soul Queen.
Exactly. Thank you. She will always be the Queen of Soul, that touched all of ours. Statements I have made are my personal opinion. Rest in Peace Aretha. You are missed and loved ❤✌️❤️🌼

These names don't go together in the same sentence
The only thing Lizzo runs to is the fridge
Aretha wasn’t always big.
Is she die?
Yes
unfortunately :(
Yes she is the queen , but someone should have told her to cover those arms !!!
Exactly, she kept them out often. I mean there's nothing wrong, when they're nice and tight.
She chunky yet funky and she’s embracing it!! Good on her. She is an icon and confident.

"She's a big lady, but when she starts singin' she blows peoples minds. Everyone wants to party with Aretha!"- School of Rock
There’s nothing wrong with her arms. Every part of her carries her presence just like her voice carries the soul
Thats awful 😂😂😂
