Windows 10 and I'm just going to wait until MS finally kills windows 10 security updates. I still have until October 14, 2025. Hopefully the device itself survives that long. xD
Great content and video. Appreciate the no-nonsense approach, easy to follow guide, and links. Going to throw this at my Surface Pro 4 and see what happens.
I just installed Tiny 11 on my Surface Pro 3and wow its a brand new PC. Super fast and responsive. I was going to purchase a new PC but I'm so glad I didn't and installed Tiny 11. Great Video.
Really helpful walkthrough tutorial! I installed the Tiny 11 on my original Surface Book 1st gen with 16/512GB with Intel i7 after resolving some partition issue since I bypassed TPM requirement to upgrade to Windows 11 with my own parition. To my experience on Tiny 11 after about 2 weeks, don't think there is any performance bump, guess it's already an old device after all these years. Notice the ram is consumed less than 3GB from refresh boot up and wake from sleep faster, and I don't see those MS stuffs that I will never use 😆
I don’t have a Surface Pro 3, just a plain old Surface 3. But, I will say what I’m running on it. I’m currently running the Windows 11 Insider Preview on the Dev channel (since it has official support from Microsoft by doing so) I debloated the install using some simple guides, and it actually can handle some light multitasking, video playback, social media, and web browsing now, unlike with both Windows 10 and Windows 11 by default. It’s probably one of the best combinations for official software support and retaining all proper drivers without installation.
1:35 with Rufus, the only difference is that the portable version saves its settings to a file in the same directory The standard version does not require installation (I believe it’s been like that since version 2.0) In fact, the portable version is LITERALLY just the executable of the standard version, renamed to include the letter p in its name (the letter p is what tells it to start in portable mode, which it will also do if it detects a settings file in the same directory) Also, you may notice Rufus will only list USB flash drives by default (with the exception of ones that present themselves as “fixed” drives, which are not shown unless you enable the option to list USB hard drives)
Have a usb Wi-Fi close by in case after install the onboard card is not working must have keyboard as the touchscreen may not work until all updates are done use Wi-Fi usb do all updates and keep checking for more restart several times when prompted and boom all set
You shouldn't have trusted this random spyware advertiser, there is a proper way to update from 10 to 11. UA-camrs will promote anything, as long as it brings them those views, sickening...
I don't see why we always have to open an account just to download a file. If you want to give people free download, just make it free. Shame on you people.
Thank you for this content. I have a Surface Pro 9 but could not afford 16GB RAM so have the 8GB iteration. I see this as a lower spec (albeit expensive) machine so this will definitely come in handy! 👍🏾
Finally bricked my tablet SP3 following this and deleted the recovery drive. Stuck in TPM mode. After starting with windows 10, cooking my tablet, regressing it back to Windows 8.1,, with shit Wi-fi settings ...
Thank you for the video. I recently upgraded my Surface Pro 3 to Windows 10. It looked as though you did a new install using the special boot to the thumb drive. I am wondering if thise will work as an Upgrade to my Windws 10 install. Or do I need to do a clean install as well?
Hello, I have a surface pro 3 and I would really like to install this OS, but I am a little afraid of losing my data, is it possible to do the update while keeping the applications and files already present as a simple update? Or do you necessarily have to do a Cleen install? Thank you in advance for your response.
Hey Eevnos, I followed your video, it was smooth and everything is faster now and the Type Cover works great. The only issue is the touch screen isn't working. I installed all the updates and the surface app. I also checked the drivers and nothing is missing or disabled. I'm not finding much help online, any guesses?
I still have windows 8.1 on my SP3. Will this act like an update or a clean install of windows? I guess what I’m really asking is will I need a windows 11 key?
Been running this for a while and its great, but recently i needed to use the camera and it can't be found. So far I haven't been able to find a solution
@@Eevnos yes, found it in the garage buried in many moving boxes, been wanting to upgrade from that lame windows 8 OS for years on that useless device, and it was no longer supported for windows updates, looking forward to trying it when I get back... Is there a reason you chose tiny 11 over tiny 8.1? From all the testing I've seen, tiny 8.1 runs a lot better winning all benchmarks given it is a much lighter OS.
My surface pro 3 screen had blind spots on certain corners within 5 months. I turned off the touch screen after the first year of owning it. Used it for a couple of years after.... bought it when it was new finally bought myself a nice hp for about 500 and it's nothing too special but it'll be ten times better than this surface pro

Windows 10
8.1 it runs best on 8.1 and always will

Is the SSD faster on Tiny11? Mine is quite slow on windows 10. I got the i7 512GB variant of the SP3.

Great video!
Thanks for this info/tutorial! My old SP3 has now been resurrected. Do you think this would would work on an SP4 as well? Thanks again!
If there was a way to do this on my Surface RT
Nope, as all Windows RT devices are based on the ARM32 architecture (I think) which Windows 11 and 10 both do not officially support
Those RT devices were complete trash..... You were only able to run office on those...
@@forcequitOS There is a leaked dev build of Windows 10 for ARM32 which you could install on these with some jailbreak skills
Hi will this work in SP2? And do I need to wipe w10 first before install?
Your best shot is a few specific linux distros and even they aren't as good

I was looking for an opinion about Tiny11 & how to install it. Will the reboot process be the same for all Windows computers?
Do you mean to boot off the USB?
If so it'll be different depending on the machine you're using.
