The stereotype is of American black women. For some reason whatever is a stereotype in American culture, is applied worldwide to people who don't even have the same experience nor environment they operate in. It's a bit entitled. For example the issue finding a husband... it's spoken about as "black" people when Nigerians like Chidi's parents aren't actually having trouble finding a decent husband, for example, and when actually white and other Americans are having trouble finding a decent husband as well it's not even a black issue, as evidenced by the wildly successful all white show Sex And The City about the terrible time women in New York where Chidi lived had with finding even a man willing to commit to a relationship much less marriage. Americans have got to stop lumping the worldwide race into their local problems and stop calling things a "black" problem when it faces a whole gender within the country or a whole economic class or a whole age group, etc. then this misconception would clear up. But as they have the monopoly on media, what they put out there gets seen as a majority stance when it's just the American stance.

Having been in the design and building industry for numerous years is a lesson well learned.For any future project you may undertake .You MUST!! be on site everyday!! not for the entire day but you must let the contractor and workers know and realize that you are more than interested and have a keen eye on not only them but the project.

Be there in person at the start of every phase and at the end of a phase, and if you can't set up cameras on site to stream to you what's going on, them consider taking vacations to build when you are there and then pause building while you are gone. Definitely get a skilled architect to design your home and use their recommendations on other professionals such as surveyors or engineers.

Chidi, I am so happy for you and I am glad you made this video and revealed all that you have revealed. For, when I first saw your interior decorator, I sensed something was amiss. Also, when you did not do a video about the finish of the house, I started to really worry about you and was to the point of attempting to contact the authorities, because I felt something had actually happened to you. I almost did, but did not know exactly who to contact. Reason, you, or I though I had seen a short video of you stating that the house was almost finished and would be seen in a couple of weeks, I think you actually gave a date, so I was waiting for it, but it never happened, so, I thought I was going crazy or senile, I am over 60, and that when I stared to believe something sinister had happened to you. Then, a couple of days or weeks later, a video of you on a trip with other ladies surfaced and though it sort of made me feel a bit easier, it did not completely dispel my fears of something happened to you. So, yes, you are a Woman, a beautiful and resourceful woman, not to forget, highly intelligent, strong, industrious, kind, ambitious, compassionate, passionate, and all-round great personality, person and successful, but, remember, you are also young and single, so, please protect yourself, be careful, be happy, and live your life to the fullest. Oh! I almost forgot, you are also AFRICAN! SO, you are like a daughter to me, I have & sons. But, I am also, a direct descendant of the first Woman on the face of the Earth, making my DNA, amongst the oldest on the face of the Earth. And I am 100% African.

Construction is an issue here in the U.S. too! My cousin had two contractors take off with her money.
My husband and I just finished a two year renovation - it was suppose to be a few months back in January 2020 but the first contractor caused a fire at our place. Come to find out, he didn’t have a general license contractor but just drywall - he was recommended by my husband’s brother and we didn’t check the credentials either because we assumed he was a good contractor based on my bro-in-law’s recommendation. Big mistake - we had to hire another contractor recommended by our friends and he has been great, if not a little slow because these contractors are constantly taking on other work. But he was honest and didn’t run off with our money, so that’s all we could ask for. His work is great!

Congratulations! My husband and I visited Bali in 2018 (nusa penida and ubud) and it was amazing! The people are great, the natural beauty is insane. And so much to do. Diving, animal encounters, surf, yoga, hike, and 12 course fancy meals (locavore in ubud was our favorite) for $55 usd
