I just received Interlaken and Jupiter grapes (8/5/23) and I live in zone 6b-7a. The lady that gave them to me said I should plant them now in the ground, but I'm worried about it being too late in the season before frost hits. What is your advice for this? I was thinking about just putting them into a bigger container until next spring. I'm a nooby gardener though so my knowledge isn't that great. As far as I figured out online it suggested I wait for next spring to put it in the ground, and to bring the plant inside for winter. Any advice would be much appreciated.

The plants are better off in the ground where the roots can stay cool and they can start to establish. Growing in pots it too much work with daily watering plus protecting them over the winter. They would be fine planted now just extra water for the first 3 weeks. No extra fertilizer at planting but a bit of compost on the surface around each plant is helpful. Free draining soil is best for grapes.

In zones 7-8 I like Thompson seedless but in colder climates Interlaken for green and Suffolk red for red.
