E-I-A-I-O-I-YYYYYYYYYY!!!! Love this vowel practice. Slow this down, speed it up, take it shallow, then drop the range by one each iteration. Hold the end for breath control practice.
Love you Mark!! That final technique, I like to slide my tounge from each side of my mouth, while opening the corresponding corners of my lips. I let the sound kinda 'swing' from side to side while doing this for a certain section. 🖤💀🖤
What I would really like to know is how you get from the sound at 0:27 to the sound at 0:36. I’ve been searching your videos and can’t seem to find and explanation. I have been doing that first sound for about 13 years and would really like to switch to the second sound but I can’t seem to figure it out
5:06 This sounds the the old phil bozeman. Like Possession or This is Exile from Whitechapel. I've wanted to know how to make this sound my whole friggen life man! This is great
I love watching these videos. Beings back all the memories of learning when I was a kid. In my 30’s now. I actually got better the less seriously I took vocals (that’s just for the actual sounds, please please please put your health and safety above all else, take THAT part seriously. Otherwise you cam say goodbye to ever being a vocalist, injuries can happen very easily if you push yourself or don’t listen to your body when it says “hey this hurts”). Once you get the technique down and you produce your vocals properly, the rest is goofing off and looking and sounding like a mental patient to find new sounds and such. You really have to have a good amount of humility and be okay with looking absolutely stupid to everyone around you lol Also, when you do tunnel throat, move your jaw to the side, and move your tongue to the side as well, and it helps tunnel throat come through more clear with less distortion. Well I mean it’s still distorted, but it’s less muffled sounding. That works well because the side position of your tongue making contact with your teeth actually helps enunciate because your toune is already there and it just takes the very little motion so you can say words easier. It takes some getting used to, but it’s one of those tiny adjustments that can make a world of difference for some lines.
3:27 "so after 17 very specific steps that everyone with a mouth and tongue can follow, all you have to do now is just HHHHHHHHGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHGRHGGGGGGGGGRGHGRHRHGHG"

Hell yeah, this is a rad video! Thanks for uploading it, Mark! I'm still just trying to figure out how to do a basic false cord, but once I do and get it down, I'll keep this video in mind! 😂
What is a good microphone for beginning, especially if you know your singing vocals can push some condenser mics into compression? I've seen rec's for really good mics, which with pop filters, a quality stand, and more can get very pricey, even though a singer may be just exploring things. Even knowing where to start looking on this is challenging, as places try to sell a lot of things you may not need (yet).
See, I can get the lows. Could you do one on the tunnel throat highs that you did? That sounded so gnarly. And that’s where I struggle is highs like that. And breath support
While I don't have a specific video focused on this because I don't make a lot of technique videos - this is a subject I talk about a LOT across all of my videos.
I think I need to join the course or something because I’m still not able to wrap my head around adding the distortion because my throat just kind of gets itchy and I think I’m doing it wrong
When you are doing gutturals are you using false chords? I’m having a real hard time with mid to low range screams that sound like bands such as “Voylinch Manyscript” or “white chapel”, or maybe “Bad Omens”. It’s been real hard to know where I’m growling from, it’s hard to find the write feeling and not hurt myself.
@@KardavoxAcademy Well, since you answered to my comment, let me give you my take on this: not only i've learned how to do disgusting sounds with my mouth thanks to your old tutorials, but I even managed to teach that to a couple of friend of mines. So, in other words: PLEASE GIVE ME MOOOOOOOOOOORE. PS: I live in Italy, so the time difference is not irrelevant, but I will have to find a way to book you for a checku of my growls and screams. Just let me earn some more money :D
@SlimeyBob-m2e that's a good question. Unfortunately, I'm not sure which is the case. I have a super deep voice naturally, and I think it's making it hard for me to push enough air through to make it distort.
I dont understand how to get the distortion to project. I can do a whisper growl. I put my tongue infront of my bottom teeth. But i can not project it. Hallllppppp
I can get a decent sound but it hurts the fuck out of the back of my throat, any tips? Will it go away? Do i just need to play around and practice more?
I've been having issues using my tongue while doing false chords. Wanted to confirm whether you were doing false chords throughout this video or whether they were a combination of low frys/tunnel throat?
Hey there. I ask myself how loud this vocals are without the microphone? Because i try to learn vocals for 3 years and i dont know how loud they have to be in reallife. Pls help 😂
I can do a false cord scream, no problem. But no matter where I place my tongue and how I shape my lips it still doesn't sound much different than my false cord scream. I got somewhat closer with tongue curled up and behind bottom teeth, but with the tip touching the upper teeth or roof of the mouth does nothing for me. Not sure what I am doing wrong and how to proceed from there to get that gurgly toilet bowl sound.
@@glatzenklatscher-polierdie3190 weirdly enough I did just today. Curl your tongue up against the roof of your mouth, but also make sure that the curve of the tongue is sticking between your upper and lower teeth. So kind of squish your tongue in your mouth. Then shape your mouth around that sticking out tongue and try to make a small O out of it. Then just do a regular, even slightly less powerful, false cord growl. My issue was that I was just curling the tongue tip upwards to the roof of the mouth and doing the O with my lips. The fact that the tongue sticks out between your rows of teeth makes for a different sound that is much more gurgly.

Please make more of these.

Man, I can do everything up until adding distortion. It's like there's no way for me to get enough air to flow through it
