I hear ya - I do have a 30% discount with them till Nov 7 if you are interested. Obviously not pressuring ya but that's a good deal. www.spitfireaudio.com/pages/nathan-james-larsen
The slides sound unrealistic though. I am a violinist and it’s those unnaturally sounding effects where I can tell it’s programmed. Apart from this it’s a well captured strings sound indeed.
Out of curiosity, as a violinist what do you think of the SRX Strings by Roland? And which sounds more realistic to you between the SRX Strings and spitfire?
I'll have to try em out! I have heard good things. .. how do they handle faster passages? That is the thing with Chamber Strings that is so impressive - I can do really fast melodic passages with the legato performance and it sounds insane. I think that is THE hardest thing to get is those strings that have quick reaction and don't sound sloppy
I have Appassionata - I’m dissapointed that there is no portamento - as you can hear on this movie with use of chamber s. which make this VST most expressive and realistic
Glad someone said it. Orchestral Tools stuff and maybe CSS are the only ones that come close to the real thing IMO and even then, you can easily tell they're MIDI.
@@Trails_Ales_and_Sigma_Males I used to think that Spitfire was the gold standard, but now that I own libraries like CSS, they actually kind of suck now
@@TalmoTheSell I must admit, I have been impressed by Pacific Strings recently. Very good and blends well with CSS. But yes, the first library i ever owned was Albion One which i got back in 2013 I believe. Thought it was the shit at the time, but now I realise Spitfire's stuff has been left behind pretty quickly. Not impressed by any of their new releases really.
@@Trails_Ales_and_Sigma_Males I just got CSS very recently and I absolutely adore it. But man does Pacific sound so good too, such beautiful sounding samples with a ton of character
Hey Nathan, do you think that the Native Instruments “Komplete 14” is worth it? If so, which one is the best? (Select, Standard, Ultimate, Collector’s)
I think it depends a little on what you need. Komplete 14 (ultimate or Collectors) are HUGE. So if you need a lot of everything then yes it is definitely worth it. I think NI has the best bundle out there in terms of overall value. It was my first big investment back when it was version 8, and I use it every single day. I would start there if I were to do it over again.
Sure thing - I actually got a 30% discount with them here: www.spitfireaudio.com/pages/nathan-james-larsen it's good till Nov 7th so not a permanent discount.
@@adrian.a.padilla my gosh... UA-cam... Thanks for letting me know Adrian. It's weird that I myself am still seeing my comment with the link to Spitfire alright :)
"Overall realism" is really not showing here. Either you need to improve your chops with this specific library, or you should pick one that better suits this sort of passage
@@stickahso much, spitfire is actually kinda trash. Cinematic studio strings, Performance Samples Vista, Musical Sampling Soaring Strings… all for like half the price
Wish it wasn’t $1,000 but someday!

I also recommend the Vienna Symphonic Library, I tested it and I will probably buy it soon. :)
Insanely good bro!!
genius nathan. pure genius
where can i hear this full song? What a masterpiece!!
Still in progress - and not something I'll be releasing since this is for licensing.
That sounds damn good!
Spitfire is fire! Just sticking with BBC orchestta for now😊🔥
Yeah BBC is still great - only thing is the legato is still ehh
incredible indeed
Nice seeing you do some strings , we’ll done indeed
Would you ever do a talk through video of how you made this track?
Spitfire Appassionata - best legato patches I’ve used

Great work Nathan, I just purchased this and I don’t know how to import it into Kotact 7
I have Spitfire strings as well but it was free… maybe it’s a different version of Spitfire strings but I still think they sound fantastic
I never thought that Spitfire Chamber Strings will be used as Cinematic Performance like this.
But I admit that is actually impressive.
❤️❤️
wow
I legit think people have forgotten what a real string section sounds like. This sounds midi af

Is it all ensemble or it has solos ?
It’s a chamber ensemble
Its alright i guess lol
bruuhhhh it is a goddamn 80 GB plugin
thank you so much i just bought these strings........anyways life of a homeless person sucks man
Its seems like there is like a slide between some notes. Do You have a tutorial on how to do that? Sounds Great!
It's library dependent - some libraries have portamento ability, but not all of them
Yeah no... just go with cinematic studio series. You can very very clearly tell this is a vst
SCS is fine, but you can get waaaay better string libraries that are cheaper
