Great company that produces great products. I’ve got Gardner gear that is well over 30 years old and still going strong. Long may your success continue👍
Good no nonsense kit Gardner are, my first proper carp landing net in the mid eighties was Gardner, the black Gardner carp hooks were good after a good sharpen, bait rolling tables, sausage guns, all the terminal stuff is bang on and the luggage seems to last forever.
Great to see one of the original pioneers of the Carp tackle industry still going strong and still growing/diversifying. More to the point, how wonderful it is that Gardner is an EOT so all employees have a direct stake in its success.
Thank you for a very enjoyable video! As a beginner carp angler from the US (albeit in my late 50’s🙃) I can't express how much I enjoyed learning about the history of your Company. Listening to your family talk about the efforts involved in getting a world-renowned carp Angling outfit off the ground and up and running is a wonderful example of the culmination of hard work, dedication and commitment to family and staff! With my newfound knowledge of your Co. in hand, I will definitely look into purchasing Gardner products/gear/etc. for the new year! Here’s wishing your family and the entire Garder Team a happy and successful new year👍🎉 - Joe
we experimented a lot.. i remember a visitor having a near miss from a back lead that zoomed past his head . Braid and mono stretching down at an angle ...trying to get the right profile on the line clips...fun times
Brilliant vid, one of the great British tackle company's. I remember chatting to Rick and having a couple of bespoke bars made for me way back early eighties and still have them today..
we did a lot of one offs , including rests for wheel chair guys that came to the old factory... i was a bit concerned that someone might get pulled in..🤔
Gardners been going for ages at the forefront of carp and specialist fishing products their weren't much but as a teenager venturing out with my optonics Richworth boilies and the cure I found for tangles the PVA stringer in the yellow packets I can only but thank the company enough for sending me front ATT heads I payed for great service and great customer care
Excellent video - much better than watching the usual “ staged “ 60 Minutes of chasing after a 30 lb Carp ( which consists of 55 Minutes of Product Plugging ) Shame you don’t get a Commission on every sale of your Copied Products - Old School is the Best School 🎣🤷🏼♂️👍🏻
What a great watch! I remember all the early products that I used as a young carp angler. Also remember coming over to your unit in the early days......epic times. All the very best to you and your family Rick and what a legacy to leave to the employees. Respect to you 👍
Great to see Rick!, I recall his story of the Ballif who came to check he was sticking to the 2-rod rule... when in the distance a siren was heard? the ballif said I best go and see what that's all about Rick..... Little did the Ballif know, Rick was using a kiddies toy that made different sounds, an ambulance, fire engine, and police car as a sounder box, and Rick's hidden in the reeds 3rd rod was away! Hi Rick! Hi Michele! TLB Tim.
Two great people Rick and Mitch, a proper honor to know them, When my House blew up and burnt down because of a plumber making a bomb out my Aga i phoned Rick up to say i had just lost 100 TLB buzzers almost complete that i was working on, he said "don't worry about the buzzers ive just put a grand in your bank..... Before me and Rick met when D.A.M tried to steel the design of the TLB through some pirates seeing me fish with prototypes over in Holland unbeknown we both cut our teeth out there on Barge and Jetty Lake, I eventually took over running that water with local Dutch/ Scottish Kenny Stamp, The rest is history and its great to see you still selling something after 28 years i had a part in, All the best to one and all at G.T, Tim. @@gardnertackle
We lost two Rick, "Barny" in memory of Barns Wallis and Layla, And yes the 2 x HC pistons bark for them both. Got an Akita Sheepred cross at the minute, she was tiny, like a baby fox cub, and would wrap herself around my slap head in bed, a bit bigger now and runs the place! @@RichardGardner-im5yd
Terrific video for me. A trip down memory lane. Got the benefits of Gardner tackle purchased in the eighties, before emigrating to Canada in 1991. The carp scene was quite restrictive in terms of access to waters. You had to have the right connections to find access to a water with a twenty. It was a bit like salmon fishing. Somewhat elitist. How things have changed. I still have the buzzer bars, the bank sticks etc. Quality equipment made to last. I still use my Mitchell 300s with my Gardner stuff. If they were good enough for Walker they are still good enough for me. All my gear is 30 years old, including original Optonics. Still works. Thank you Gardner Tackle.
Trying to remember the list of products that Gardner bought to the market that I purchased. My first quality bank sticks then it was buzzer bars, rod pod (remember that?), baiting needles etc etc. The list is longer than my memory. The fishing industry has done well out of Gardner inventions and anglers have benefitted immensely.
A fantastic company used there products since I started carp fishing 35 years ago, I was a little disappointed you didn’t talk about the rod pod what an invention that was!! Long May this great company continue ❤
we made a few " platform rests " first , then came up with a simple pod..didn't think there was much of a market....sold ten thousand the first year...🤔
@@RichardGardner-im5yd what a truly amazing situation me and my dad had one and fished with it for many years Richard thank you for you incredible innovation!! A Dream to use on the Gravel pits we were fishing then 💪
hi Tim Lee...happy xmas mate .👍 The three tone buzzer came from my sons crashed push bike . It was very quickly fitted into an extension box... It was pretty embarrassing to look up at an empty road with the ambulance sound ringing in our ears...fun days 👍😂😂

Very humble and a very good company to work for
Great video takes me back
I had one of the first pods which made life a lot easier on rock hard banks

Such a nice guy
Thoughly enjoyed watching this, the influence of the company on angling is not to be underestimated. Nice to see British initiative can still work
It's a story that needed to be told Graham as so much is taken for granted with modern carp angling.
Great British company with true morals!
Mich kept us all in check..😃
Well done James, great enjoyable vid and nice to see something different.
Merry Christmas to all and all at Gardner tackle 🎄🍻
