Glad to see that you had your dad’s and grandfather’s hand saws displayed in the cabin. My dad had a bunch of my grandfather’s old hand tools as well as a lot of his own older tools when he passed away. My mom passed away in 1985 and my dad eventually remarried. Needless to say, when he passed away, his wife and her side of the family, changed the Will and took control of everything.

Jesse, your sister is such a great sister and helper. You lucky boy!
You could make a small timber frame memorabilia shelf in your basement, maybe with the Maine videos on a USB stick next to them! Just a suggestion.

Hey you are grumping over a 1/4 inch of sag of the cross pole that was only supported at the ends with a center load on it... I'd say you rightly did a good job with your design work!

So question from when you did live in the tent/cabin. Did the little fan on top of the wood stove really circulate war air?

I still remember when I figured out what exit you were passing as you went through Bend Oregon, was fun to see that you passed some place that I knew. You guys moved to Idaho as I was moving to Oregon. I did think that it was a bit crazy to make that trip on Labor Day weekend! And here we are, almost eight years later. Hugs to you all! ❤

Wow, guys, I'm in shock that you still have the shed/house. It looks to still be going strong, as for your sister still being around and helping you with your house build, honestly, that's just awesome to see and I hope you're still using the wood milling machine between the two of you. The last thing I have to say is simply that I'm really glad that you decided to return to uploading videos to UA-cam and that you didn't give in to the bullying people who were making your life hell . As alway's guy's 💯% 👍 🇬🇧.

Looks like a planting shed to me. If you put the metal structure back on, you could make a quick greenhouse attached to the garden/planting shed. You have heat insulation and electricity. Couple of shelves with lights and a DIY heater mat (wood and Xmas lights) and you're ready to go. Use the planned for doorway to ventilate and heat the greenhouse. You could even use it for a wee woodworking shop.

Jesse, you are proving the old saying Waste not Want not. If you had used materials from the modern era building that shed instead of 100 year old materials materials it would have been in the burn 🔥 pile. Lol 😆. The memorabilia blocks are a really neat idea. Hopefully they will have a place in your new home. The cabin can be used as a he or she cave, guest quarters, or even just storage. Plenty of uses for a sound structure.

I love that you also use the traditional tools of the trade: Using a plumb bob is often faster, and more accurate, to mark longer lengths for vertical than using a [water bubble] level.
The same applies for getting the horizontal over longer distances, and especially around obstacles: a water filled hose is faster and less error prone than the string level.
