Joey Landreth is such a tasteful player. I think that’s the most important thing to be if you’re going to survive a jam with Uncle Larry. This was magic.

Agree brother... ha, though the thought of "surviving" a jam with Uncle Larry is quite valid LOL... and on the other side of the discussion-- a "jam" being a collaboration ( and not some cuttin contest ), you know, surviving, isn't an idea I'd want to witness as a listener... peace

I use the word ‘survive’ because how many players can be totally free from the minute they start playing, without having to think about their next move. There aren’t many but Tom is without doubt one of them. Any genre of music, he immediately makes it sound like a record, not a borrowed lick in sight. So if you forget competition, because you can’t outplay him, and play along tastefully from the heart rather the head, you’ll probably do ok.
Uncle Larry's use of the driving bass note is something to admire.
Bless Duesenberg for bringing together two of our favorite players.

So I've watched this again for about the 30th time and in my humble opinion Tom Bukovac is one the world's greatest guitarists. Period.

Damn Uncle Larry….this is fantastic! Have you guys ever played together before? Kinda weird…I discovered you when you started doing your UA-cam videos, and I discovered Joey right about the same time. You, Joey and Ariel Posen are 3 of my best discoveries …in my adult life.

One of the coolest things to ever happen to me was when Joey offered a free guitar lesson. he's one of my fav players ever and I about fell out of my chair. He's as classy as they come and will go down in history as one of the best guitar player / singer / songwriters ever.

Brothers Landreth are awesome musicians. His brother is a great bass player. Joey is a great singer as well. He is real tone chaser. He has tons of fuzzes and makes magic with them. He plays heavy strings on his guitars. To much great things about Joey to mention them all. Plus he is still with his both feet on the ground. Friend was in contact with him and he was amazed how normal Joey is despite being great musican. Gotta love the dude.
This reminds me of what Keith Richards said about getting two guitar players together who are totally in sympathy with one another, totally LOCKED IN and feeding of one another.. Sounds Mega, Love it 😝⭐️🌞❤️👍🏻

Hey Tom, you are everywhere lately. Saw you in the house band for Willie Nelson's birthday bash at the Hollywood Bowl (my old stomping grounds. Saw Hendrix, The Beatles, The Doors there when I was a kid). That duet with Kris Kristofferson and Rosanne Cash brought me to my knees and to tears. Then, Sarah Jarosz' new album dropped with you all over it. And now, I see you jamming with one of the greatest slide players on the scene today, Joey Landreth. I know Joey through Two Rock and my buddy designed his signature Two Rock amp. He's a great guy and you and he should get together on a project like you did with Guthrie. I'm an old geezer living vicariously through you. You're the best.
