Uncle Larry goes back to his cover band roots on a gig in Indy. Starring Stacey McKracken Peter Wolf Sweet Mikey Mills The Tireless Kenny Aronoff Ebo and many others
I totally agree and couldn't have said it better myself. Larry synthesized all the best things into a really great career and set of experiences; talent, hard work, unique personality, diverse tastes and fun. He's an earner. Love the guy. We're very privileged that he took up sweet Sarah's suggestion and decided to share his journey with us.
Waiting impatiently for new stuff but goddanmmit that Def Leopard song I didnt even know... Bring On The H.. has been all I have listening to for weeks now. The glory of it all..
Uncle Lar just keeps the hits comin'! Great to see Peter Wolfe in fine form still! Y'all are in for a treat if he gets to the part where he says "We got the Detroit Demolition here for ya tonight!".....Greatest boogie front man to grace a stage. Thank you Tom, this stuff is gold!
A pocket deeper than the deep blue sea, an ear that hears equally as deep, heart of gold, and now - perhaps the best sounding guitar on the planet. Congrats on that Special, damn! And, many thanks Tom, always.
Dayummm Uncle Larry, any songs you DON’T know?! Freeze Frame is one I haven’t heard in ages yet I feel you just picked it right up in a New York minute and played it flawlessly on that awesome old Gibson! Keep rockin’ bud, you’re a true inspiration!!!!
How great is Peter Wolf? Saw him play a one-off at a tiny (for him) club in Ann Arbor, MI called The Ark about 8 years ago. He absolutely blew the roof off the place at 70-something years old.
Dude. That opening Tina Turner bit and the Pocket of DOOM. Wow man. When you dropped into the reggae bit I fell backwards out of my chair. Insanely good. Insanely good.
Wow, just recently landed on this feed. I don’t know how, the algorithm knows… An insider taking us inside, so fantastic thanks so much Dr. Larry for bringing to the world specially, for all the aspiring musicians that may never. . .
Hell ya ... oozin' da groove ...these ladies ... and there come the J.Geils Band .... From "Woodstock" to "Freeze Frame " ... must have been a nice show ...
Great camera work Little Tommy. I'm sure everyone wants to be there, but your joy and positivity are infectious. Everyone lights up and plays along when you point the camera at them. Have a fun gig!
I saw the Boston show, no idea what I was in for. It started out weird with Irsay talking to the crowd before the show but we could barely hear him and it took us a while to figure out that he was actually sitting onstage in an unlit corner. Between that and the heat and crowds around the exhibit that made it near impossible to see anything I was like "oh no, is this gonna be a shit show..." But then the lights went down and you guys kicked into "Lawyers, Guns, and Money" and blew the doors off the joint. Multi-million dollar production with killer lighting and sound, one of the best shows I've seen and definitely the best FREE show I've ever seen. 😄 It was like a dream, come on down to the Garden, sit wherever you want, and watch some of the best musicians on the planet throw a party.🤘
Imo, one of the best most versatile players currently out there. Tom can deliver instant tones to any genre he’s assigned to. His phrasing and experience on when to fill in/throw some leads is amazing. 👍 Ty for the vids Tom
Uncle Larry is the GOAT. Thank you so much for sharing. Thank you for this insight and experience. Live that dream brother. My last J. Gail’s Band concert cost like $8 at Blossom just a “few” years ago. LOL Go Browns!
This is just too cool Uncle Larry. Certainly the closest i would ever come to playing on a stadium stage. Thanks for taking us along for the ride. Its an inspiration to see what a life of dedication to your craft can take you.
Talented lady singers and one talented guitar player starting out!! Good Friday video Uncle Larry!! Good group of talented folks having fun playing music!!
always wondered how it sounded on stage in a big venue.. It sounds really nice from what I'm hearing! Thank you for letting us tag along ..Kenny is such a solid drummer..love it ..
This is my favourite video on the tube...The singing & the guitarplaying in the beginning is out of this world. The rest of the clip is also top notch, Watching Uncle L school us is always a gift...
Tom, you are simply THE MAN!. no matter what you play, your feeling and touch is just about perfect. LOL and Kenny BALD POWER Aronoff is at the groovin' department. a real fun factory!!
Just watching Uncle Larry's playing is so satisfying. Just so incredibly accurate, tasteful and effortless. As a guitarist, I take my hat off to you. As the old phrase goes, we may not be able to reach the stars (and Uncle Larry is definitely one), but we can use them to guide our path.
Thanks Uncle Larry, I absolutely love these behind the scenes videos. It lets me experience what you do for a living for a moment. Cracked me up when Ebo said hi🖕…
Awesome. Peter Wolf! Saw him many times in the 70's. The J Geils band was f*#@ing such a great live band. Where's Wolf been hiding? You are one lucky man ( I know it's skill and not luck). Damn.
Hellofa show last nite Uncle Larry! The whole band killed it but, Ann's voice and your solo on Love reign on me was a moment I'll never forget. Thanks again.
I just saw via a posting on my Facebook newsfeed that "What's Love Got To Do With It" was at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 back on 9/8/84. Kind of an interesting coincidence IMHO.
Those ladies are amazing..what beautiful voices... So fun watching Uncle Larry play J.Giels songs WITH Peter Wolf...come on, does it get cooler than that?

one of the hallmarks of great musicians is to be able to nail covers, and there is no shame playing the music you love. hell yeah!
Peter Wolf is one of the greatest showmen of Rock and Roll. The J. Geils Band was killer live. I miss those guys.
Waiting impatiently for new stuff but goddanmmit that Def Leopard song I didnt even know... Bring On The H.. has been all I have listening to for weeks now. The glory of it all..
I think Blow Your Face Out is the best live LP ever recorded.
I love that you threw the new SG special right into the heat of battle. Such a sweet guitar
Looks like a Pete Townsend Special 💥 p90's 💥
Uncle Lar just keeps the hits comin'! Great to see Peter Wolfe in fine form still! Y'all are in for a treat if he gets to the part where he says "We got the Detroit Demolition here for ya tonight!".....Greatest boogie front man to grace a stage.

Uncle Larry makes it look like he's been playing these songs all his life. That's Uncle Larry for ya.
Eh, that's because he's been playing these songs all his life.. 😂 (Edit.. Probably..)
This might be the best thing ever posted on the Internet.
Ok Uncle Larry is killing it with the creativity on this classic tune. That reggae feel is tight as "s$%t"
I love Peter Wolf. What a front man!
