The post office dictates how far from the edge of the road the mailboxes can be placed. You have a cowboy running the plow and I can tell you in this day and age the plow is easily angled left or right by a hand control just like a video game, it’s not hard to miss those mailboxes. Without the mailbox on a post properly secured, they will not leave your mail.
Here's a thought: Why not move the post back a foot? Put a deflector to the oncoming side of the box so when the snow & plow are traveling by, it will take the brunt of the force rather than the mailbox? Use your head here. 🤦🏻♂️

I live in the Adirondacks and we have this problem. So almost everyone goes to post office and we all collect our mail there.
