Strain on the Grid

- During peak demand periods, the state's electricity grid struggles to keep up. In 2020, rolling blackouts highlighted the vulnerabilities in the grid infrastructure, exacerbated by the increased load from EVs.
Ev trolls out and about denying reality.
I think you mean this guy is....
Because the infra structure is not there does not mean it can't be made.
It's just the development of infrastructure has not been parallel with development of EV's.
As for weight efficiency, they never calculate the transport of the fuel from source...
What about the ships, trains , tanker trucks you require to get it to your company ?
Tire companies are going to be rolling in cash in California.
Why? Tyres for EVs are more expensive, but last as long.
I worked in a manufacturing environment 30 years ago and they were using 5 electric forklifts indoors. They were barely a blip on the total electrical demand for the entire campus.
Most companies do run electric forklift or OPs but the battery they use only weighs 300ibs far different than an industrial truck thats going to be towing as well. Even the small electric yales i use are 4500ibs (total weight) which is still roughly half the weight of the truck battery mentioned.
those are forklifts.. they hv a relatively small battery.. we are talking heavy duty work trucks.. did u even watch the vid?
so what does weight have to do with anything? it's how much gasoline we can keep from pumping into the air we all breath, are you paying attention?
@@faxanadufire9669 watch the video again.

Exactly. To scale, you need inefficient chemical storage, i.e. hydrogen, or a synthetic fuel created from hydrogen.
Just so we’re clear. A typical company truck can haul 45k. Install 2 electric batteries - 16K Now he/she can only haul 29K. The carrier or OO will be broke.
It is like having 60 EVs all charging at the same location if all 30 dual battery trucks were charging at the exact same time. It can be done but you would have to work with the power company in finding a location where the draw can be handled with out causing brown or blackouts and also not blowing up transformers.
The country is growing clean electricity by 20% a year. Now we are adding battery capacity
Batteries will get smaller and faster to charge so shut up dude
Hahaha. 12 million lbs to power a baby buggy. 😂😂😂
Vote for the wise... republican
Thanks for the laugh.
BS
Solar or hydro or wi d turbines arent a thing?
The future. Like it or not!

Fork lifts are either electric, propane if inside a factory. Just fyi.
Weve been using electric forklifts since i started in 2009.
Total Bullshit. My grandmother didn't want me to get a motorcycle. She came up with off the wall stuff to gaslight me. He sounds almost just like her only his voice is more girly.
rivian is 750lbs cybertruck is 1200-1400lbs
He's talking about a Semi truck 💀🤦
Need more efficient engines & less battery utilization
When he mentions "heavy duty," I believe he's referring to a semi-truck. It's the only truck size I could identify that would require such a large battery system. The F-150 Lightning's battery weighs in at around 1800 lbs, in contrast to the 850 lbs for a V8 engine, transmission, and a full tank of gas. Petroleum still reigns supreme in terms of energy density per weight. Nevertheless, I'm keen on setting up my own solar/EV/battery bank system, complemented by a windmill for backup. Exxon has received enough of my money; it's time for a change..
Amazing self sustaining system you should do a blog on the progress. But that won’t work on a commercial scale and that’s the issue being debated in the clip.
good thing if we need more electricity WE CAN MAKE IT! DUH!
This is the thing no one talks about.
There are multiple ways to make electricity and transporting it the most efficient system we have.
We can make more oil based fuel by just planting trees which is cheap, clean and has a useful bi product. It's just the manufacturing time is a little longer.
This guy is WILDLY misleading in his statements. There are single pumps out in the mines with more draw than this town has the capacity for. Says more about the town than the trucks.
Meanwhile they’ll find 15-30 megawatts for a new data center in the middle of rural Iowa no problem. If there’s a will, there’s a way.
Hydrogen powered is the real sustainable alternative
As someone who was effectively involved on REAL world hydrogen projects. I can wildly state that's an absolutely clueless statement.
For Christ sake people!
If anything was economical, technically possible and viable. We would be there already! Pipe dreams don't make the world go round. 😂
This guy has no clue what he's talking about. 40 million EVs on global roads and the available grid power has been no issue. Look at large DC fast charging facilities with dozens if 250kw charge units.easily doable. I charge 2 EVs from my time of use meter as well as my full house solar system and my demand is a hiccup. This guy needs an education. He's spreading propaganda that is a joke which shows his ignorance.
Is this video a fucking joke? Like actually?

Surround the plant with wind turbines 😅
bullshit

I wouldn’t doubt the anecdote was about a factory 10 years ago. Also it’s not hard to believe that some rural areas in Illinois haven’t had their infrastructure upgraded in 30 years. That’s why we have the Build Back Better program that passed last year. To upgrade infrastructure for things like that.
I used to work on electric forklifts. The batteries in the small ones weigh about 1,200 pounds. They’re much bigger and hold more juice than a car. And one warehouse I serviced had electric pallet jacks that used 1,200 pound batteries, they had 20 pallet jacks 3 forklifts and 32 batteries. Most of them were charged every day and some of the extra batteries stayed plugged in until needed. That was megawatts of power.
Bullshit

We need NIKOLA TESLA’s free energy for this crisis…he had those so humanity will not have this national concern..lets dig and find out who took it and kept the knowledge for themselves is what we should be working on
Evs just can't beat an internal combustion engine-the evs are way worse for the environment than gasoline vehicles- do the math people-your being lied to
He’s talking shit
He's so smug with his facts and all... Are you going to listen to him or John Kerry?

We need modular nuclear rectors first. Then we can go all EV.
