Basically Henry was the Trump of his time. A complete A-hole, used defamatory language to describe everyone - except himself of course, and everyone was anti-American but himself. He would've fit in quite well at Fox or as a Republican today as a talking head.
They all should have a PHD in constitutional law.

I’m Canadian. So I went and read the second amendment. It’s SO clear that it is designed to allow states to have their own police forces and militias. It says NOTHING about an individual having the right to bear arms. “The people” doesn’t ever refer to an individual, it is the collective. I’m no constitutional scholar, but it’s not hard to figure that out.
Rep Raskin is doing the peoples work. He is what our representatives should strive to be.

If Jamie Raskin was worth anything, he would explain to the public that the 13-minute, 42-second 1942 US Department of Agriculture video *Hemp for Victory* is the key to reducing unemployment, reducing poverty, reducing hunger, reducing homelessness, reducing health care costs, reducing crime, reducing police brutality, reducing government spending, reducing political corruption, reducing pollution, replacing fossil fuels, ending deforestation and stopping climate change, all at the same time.

Well, Raskin didn't HUMILIATE them. That would entail Republicans being able to feel humiliation. As a whole, they simply don't. I love Raskin though, he's awesome.
By this point in time, a Republican can be humiliated just by showing up. A pet rock shows greater intelligence than these people. I used to hope they'd finally turn themselves around, but I stopped having any patience for them about 20 years ago.

As a legal firearm owner in Pennsylvania, I've signed an explicit statement for every firearm I've ever bought stating, "I am not planning to overthrow the US Government". I've always answered truthfully in the affirmative. Mr. Raskin's eloquent articulation of reality probably falls on deaf ears. Alas, it is pearls before swine for the fact-free crowd making up Trump's Republican party.

The Conservative SCOTUS ruling on "Citizens United" which equated money to "speech" was the death knell for the Republic. In essence the Conservatives let us know that they thought only the wealthy should be allowed to speak.

The power of their knowledge base lies in domestic matters. The president is powered with being the head in international affairs, and that requires a very different skillset than constitutional law knowledge. And frankly, our biggest weakness on the left is understanding international diplomacy with nations outside the small sphere of tight US allies.

It's a shame that Raskin has to educate some of our 'leaders' on the actual language used by our "Founding Fathers." I think our political leaders need to ace a political science course and know these documents by heart before they can collect their cushy paychecks/benefits for life.

I'm not sure what school these folks attended, but I am over 70 and can still recite a great deal of the constitution and preamble of course, that was REQUIRED study in GRADE SCHOOL. What has happened to our education system.

If the extreme republicans could feel shame maybe they could be humiliated and I wouldn't call that an ovation after Rafkin's speech when only a few clapped. Nevertheless, Jamie Rafkin is my favorite example of integrity in Congress.
