I made these last night on my brand new Blackstone Griddle...my 1st time cooking on one and OMG, the Oklahoma Onion Smashburgers were absolutely delicious! They came out perfect! Thank you!!!!

That would be amazing! Sometimes our mom would use the Lipton Onion Soup mix in the beef - I think it was pretty common - but we loved that as well - we may have to do that again!!🔥🔥

Adam... So glad you mentioned the brand of mandoline slicer you used. I have one that is made by Zyliss I really liked it because it folds in half, but I have had it for close to 10 years and part of the support leg brook and it tends to flex and makes uneven slices. Zyliss makes some that are similar but not the exact model any more. I checked Amazon and they had several different Mueller mandolines so maybe I will have to give Mrs. Claus some Christmas hints.

My little trick is I smash the burger about 1/2 or 2/3 of the way, put the onions on, then finish smashing. That gets as much onion as possible on the patty. Great channel guys.

Being from Oklahoma, I love these cooks and the history surrounding the Oklahoma Onion Smashburger. You all have always done it justice, and I’m pretty sure that you all are the first ones I saw on UA-cam doing this, although I have had an Oklahoma onion Smashburger before but did not know what it was actually called. In my household I’m the only one that likes onions however the regular smash burgers are some of our favorites when we cook out. It was a joy seeing you cook Adam!! What a small world we really do live in!! I work mainly just north of there. I stay out in a camper most of the days then go back home to south eastern Oklahoma to be with family on weekends. Very cool!
Adam they looked awesome!! Sucky that it's in the 30s here😕but have been throwing down indoors. Love the new buffet piece with the old wood... That would fit in our living room nicely! 😂 And, one last thing, the next time you try these, use the baking soda hack! (Crust galore!)
15f here yesterday. I just crack the garage door 1ft or so and use the griddle in the (attached) garage. With the griddle going it’s warm enough with just a t-shirt. Only downside is that there’s this smell in the garage the next day which makes you hungry…
I actually made 12 meatballs from 1lb of ground beef to place on the small Hawaiian slider rolls. I used reconstituted minced onions. I put down butter, spinkled with onions then added the meat to smash. Repeated the process on the flip. Turned out pretty good. My 6 year old grandson, Kole, said, "Papa what's better than good, cause that's what these are." It doesn't get any better than that... Griddle Me This...

I did a mens bible study at my house tonight and I made these. They were awesome. First time I didn’t use ketchup on my hamburgers 5 guys ate 2 lbs of meat. Thanks for the video I made a double decker burger for each one of them They loved it I had to quickly thaw out meat and make more
Where did you get that press? I like yours better then I like mine as mine has ridges on the edge and doesn’t allow for the burger to press flat like that.

Those look so tasty. No criticism, but as a part time Okie, I like to salt those thin onion slices and put them in a strainer for 30 minutes first, then pat them really dry. Then press the burger balls 2/3 of the way and then spread the onions on top and then re-smash. Hard sear, flip and....Any way it goes, always excellent! Oh, and banana pepper rings, cheese, mustard. There's no right or wrong way to make your Oklahoma onion burger. We put down a bed of onions and smash the patty into the onions. Also, good choice in pickles. 👍👍 We also like Best Maid pickles and Best Maid pickle beer.

Video was great but I'm thinking about incorporating the onions into the meatball. Wonder if that will help contain the "spillage" of the onions that surrounded your burgers after the smash? Off topic... how does that workbench stand up to the elements outside?

I love this table and just got it. So I’m not sure how it does yet, but we’ve had several friends who have the same table and it seems to be holding up well!🤙🤙
I keep hearing these called Oklahoma onion burgers, or people talking like this is something that was started in Kentucky or the Great Lakes area, but White Manna in NJ has been making burgers this way since the 1930's.

I guess I would put the shredded onions on the griddle first and then smash the meatball into it. For a better combination of both. Once again when turning the patty. I don´t like stuff falling or rinsing of from my Burger since I often eat them in my car during a break from worktime...:-) Over here in Germany, I tried some pattys from Aldi and Lidl last time, called "Angus pattys", and it was far below everything acceptable. They ask 3 Euro for 2 pattys... Cheers, Bernd

Looks great... BUT, IMO... Mustard is for dogs and Ketchup is for burgers. I bought a mandolin a couple of years ago and gotta confess... It's still virgin. Gotta change my ways cuz thin sliced onnyons are da bomb.

Being from Oklahoma, I love these cooks and the history surrounding the Oklahoma Onion Smashburger. You all have always done it justice, and I’m pretty sure that you all are the first ones I saw on UA-cam doing this, although I have had an Oklahoma onion Smashburger before but did not know what it was actually called. In my household I’m the only one that likes onions however the regular smash burgers are some of our favorites when we cook out. It was a joy seeing you cook Adam!! Griddle on!! 🔥🔥🔥🍻🍻🍻 (And your camera person is doing a great job as well!! 🤠)

What a small world we really do live in!! I work mainly just north of there. I stay out in a camper most of the days then go back home to south eastern Oklahoma to be with family on weekends. Very cool!
Adam they looked awesome!! Sucky that it's in the 30s here😕but have been throwing down indoors. Love the new buffet piece with the old wood... That would fit in our living room nicely! 😂 And, one last thing, the next time you try these, use the baking soda hack! (Crust galore!)

15f here yesterday. I just crack the garage door 1ft or so and use the griddle in the (attached) garage. With the griddle going it’s warm enough with just a t-shirt. Only downside is that there’s this smell in the garage the next day which makes you hungry…
I actually made 12 meatballs from 1lb of ground beef to place on the small Hawaiian slider rolls. I used reconstituted minced onions. I put down butter, spinkled with onions then added the meat to smash. Repeated the process on the flip. Turned out pretty good. My 6 year old grandson, Kole, said, "Papa what's better than good, cause that's what these are." It doesn't get any better than that... Griddle Me This...

I have a similar burger press. I find it much easier smashing the burgers with that than using a spatula, the bottom of a pan or a pot top.

Great video adam my 2 fav burgers are traditional smash burgers and oklahoma onion burger also i found a mandolin slicer that has attachments so i can get the onions paper thin then i use a towel to get the liquid out good job On the video cheers 🍺👊🔥

Where did you get that press? I like yours better then I like mine as mine has ridges on the edge and doesn’t allow for the burger to press flat like that.

Those look so tasty. No criticism, but as a part time Okie, I like to salt those thin onion slices and put them in a strainer for 30 minutes first, then pat them really dry. Then press the burger balls 2/3 of the way and then spread the onions on top and then re-smash. Hard sear, flip and....Any way it goes, always excellent! Oh, and banana pepper rings, cheese, mustard. There's no right or wrong way to make your Oklahoma onion burger. We put down a bed of onions and smash the patty into the onions.
Also, good choice in pickles. 👍👍 We also like Best Maid pickles and Best Maid pickle beer.

I love this table and just got it. So I’m not sure how it does yet, but we’ve had several friends who have the same table and it seems to be holding up well!🤙🤙

I keep hearing these called Oklahoma onion burgers, or people talking like this is something that was started in Kentucky or the Great Lakes area, but White Manna in NJ has been making burgers this way since the 1930's.

I guess I would put the shredded onions on the griddle first and then smash the meatball into it. For a better combination of both. Once again when turning the patty. I don´t like stuff falling or rinsing of from my Burger since I often eat them in my car during a break from worktime...:-)
Over here in Germany, I tried some pattys from Aldi and Lidl last time, called "Angus pattys", and it was far below everything acceptable. They ask 3 Euro for 2 pattys...
