I got the PlayStation version super cheap used because I wanted to see for myself how bad it was. I had NO idea that the Wii version could possibly be so much worse. 1:50 "I picked the immigrant girl because the other two sounded like pain in the asses" They are. I had this for the PlayStation - got it used after I heard how bad it was and I wanted to see HOW bad. The two guys have weak voice acting but the son of the neo-Nazi talks to the voice of his dad that resides in his head in the PS version, which is occasionally hilarious.. Also, shadow blades are the only way to go since there's a move you get about mid-game that makes you invulnerable for a short time. The other two power sets are weaksauce (though not as bad as your experience). Game balance, everyone! I admit, the graphics were crap on the PlayStation, but at least mouths moved and in-game cutscenes were there. Wii owners get screwed out of cutscenes, whole levels, boss battle mechanics ( Magneto had this really annoying section where you had to dodge this stuff as he lobbed it down this narrow... alleyway? Not sure what to call it really, it was like a dry canal with wreckage), but you aren'l missing the morality system. That hasn't changed a bit It didn't mater in the PlayStation version either. Regarding costumes on the PS version - If you had all 3 parts of a character's set, you got some kind of bonus that really didn't matter much, which was good because all the pieces were random drops. Seriously, you could go an entire game and never see some of these pieces, even with grinding. The costumes were so bland and the bonuses so meh, it wasn't worth it really. Some other little things I remember: - During the opening scenes, Quicksilver comes by and tells you to hurry up or something, and every time, something would happen to his face and you could see the seam of every polygon in it. Don't know how or why, but it was consistent. - In the U-Men section I got a choice to save Quicksilver or leave him. I left him and miraculously, he was in my party in the next cut scene. - When you talk to Gambit in his bar (may not be in your version), if you walk around afterwards, there's a spot where the sound changes from indoor acoustics to outdoor acoustics even though you're still inside.
Yeah, as soon as I heard Silicon Knights developed this game, I knew EXACTLY where this story was going. Also, Too Human is now available for free to all Xbox One owners. No, I don't know how that's possible, either.
I think it's because Microsoft owns the IP. It couldn't legally be sold, but Epic's statute of limitations for the recall probably ran out. Microsoft probably gave it away just to get another first-party release on the Xbox One.

Its a real shame X-Men: Destiny ended up the way it did, it could have been a pretty unique and interesting game. Kinda like an X-Men version of the Infamous series, hell I feel like I could make a better version of X-Men: Destiny and I know DICK about game development. Not to mention, the voice cast is filled with a lot of recognizable names like Nolan North, Yuri Lowenthal, Jamie Chung (The Aimi girl, she voices GoGo from Big Hero 6), and quite a few others.. who's great talent are WASTED here.
Infamous might as well be a brand X X-Men game, quite frankly. They just need to plunder that template... maybe scaled down for the general power levels of the X-Men.
Honestly, this game is probably the most desperate attempt at ripping off InFamous I've ever seen. Super heroes? Check. Motion comic cutscenes? Check. Set in a all but destroyed city? Check. Binary moral choice system? Check. The only original thing this game has is one of the most basic and tacked on character customization systems in video game history.
I remember playing the PS3 version of the game (thinking it was a tie-in to the then-upcoming First Class) and coincidentally enough, I also played as Aimi (mostly because she reminded me of myself) and from what I've played it was a janky and tedious mess and I never picked it up again after I finished the story mode once. I then opted to play Uncharted 3, Saints Row: The Third, and Batman: Arkham City instead and never looked back.
"We made Eternal Darkness, so we're automatically great!" - DENNIS Yeah, you made one good game, ported one to the Gamecube, and made shit ever since, or worse, nothing at all. Is it any wonder this company went downhill so fast?
One good game? They made 8 titles in total and the majority of them (Blood Omen Legacy Of Kain, Metal Gear Solid Twin Snakes, Cyber Empires, Fantasy Empires and Dark Leigons) were well/very well received critically. Their only real misses were their last 2 titles which were Too Human & X-Men Destiny.
These regular uploads are quite nice, I'll agree. Holy hell, the delightful little trainwreck called Silicon Knights... That was a shitshow and a half. It's amazing how one man's ego can literally destroy a company, and how, despite how much we talk shit about them, publishers can in fact, be beneficial to a game sometimes. The concept sounds sane- you play as a young mutant with a branching path storyline. Add character creation & a better engine, this type of game might work in today’s climate of gaming

I remember reading about this game from an article on GameInformer magazine back in 2011, and I never really cared much for it. I assumed that it was a tie-in game for First Class, but then realized it was a standalone game. And that was I knew about it, but then I mostly overlooked it to read about Batman: Arkham City. Oh, and GI gave it a 5.5 out of 10 after it released. And that alone speaks for itself.

I liked the idea this game was going for. Choosing your own new X-men character and have RPG style choices. I want to hopefully see another X-men game with this combat system but turn it into more of an RPG with real choices and consequences and put the focus on creating your own X-men character. What are your thoughts on this idea Darklordjadow? Also i never realized that this version was so radically different from the ps3 and 360.verison.
Probably because it was a similar build, pick your power, weapon and some clothing design (cosmetic only), and the combat having a combo system. But even in that game you did have tough fights against characters that you know, but I don’t recommend choosing the same mentor (Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman for hero’s, and lex Luther, joker, and Circe for villains) or the same side because it’s a one trick pony. You will get sick of similar missions because the missions that are not part of the mentor campaign is exactly the same regardless of faction. And honestly the game is very dated (DCUO I mean) since honestly i would’ve loved to have brainiac or Trigon as mentors, a 3rd faction that can show true power to both sides, be your own hero/villain without handicaps of letting characters live because they can’t die for game’s sake. The game is pretty much dead, last time I’ve played it.

That was Seth Meyers. He has a recurring sketch on his Late Night show where he wishes Happy Birthday to viewers, but due to time limitations on the show he also has to hash out issues with his neighbor Dennis at the same time. I like the man's sketches and monologues, but his "A Closer Look" sketch where he digs into the shit that's going on with the government became too repetitive and depressing to keep watching.

At least John Romero wasn't scamming people out of money to make Daikatana. All his crimes amount to was unchecked egotism and a game that shouldn't have been released as it was. And a failure of an ad campaign. Sure, he was salty at id (chiefly Carmack) for booting him out, but you didn't see him sue id for everything he did for Doom and Quake only to make a game that was just Doom except with a different name. P.S.: I find it equally funny and sad that DENNIS is trying to resurrect the Legacy of Kain IP because of both how much of a mess Nosgoth was and just how the team behind LoK fell apart after Defiance.

If it justifies cancelling people and setting things on fire, that's all that matters. Side note: I have Nosgoth. All those devs were way over their heads thinking anything they touch would turn into pure gold, they were declaring their games to be mega hit successes long before they came out always with the logic "I made this popular game before!" and never missed a chance to give themselves all the credit for their past successes and believing they had another glorious masterpiece.

My God, Activision serious had an addicition of screwing over Wii owners back in the day. I get that the Wii wasnt as powerful as the PS3 or the XBox 360, and I can't complain too much since I owe a Wii and a PS3, but that does NOT excuse the fact that Wii Owners kept getting fucked by them. I mean, is there at least ONE Activision published game on the Wii that the company DIDN'T screw over: because after the games you listed and this game, I'm beginning to think there isn't.
Spider-Man Shattered Dimensions came to the Wii un-molested; just with a graphical downgrade and no Captain Universe DLC Skins. Spider-Man Web of Shadows had a significant graphical downgrade and some performance issues, but otherwise the Wii Port is the same as the others. The Wii version actually got 6 alternate costumes as recompense for the decreased performance, and people with the other versions were PISSED! Battleship is a weird case because while the Wii and XBox 360/PS3 got completely different games, the Wii's Turn-Based Strategy setup was a vast improvement over the other consoles' dull shooter.

24:34 According to what happened, Disney did somewhat sabotage the game. Disney wanted to pull out Marvel Activision agreement. But they let all the other marvel games finish without much interference. But they did pull this game budget. But it was more of a contributor then the cause. As the reason this game got it budget pull was because Disney saw that the game was not being received well by Activision and Marvel. So it is true, but not what ruined the game.
I'm rather surprised that a Wii and DS versions were made for this game. DS version could possibly be by a different studio. But the Wii version being developed by SK? Since Unreal Engine 3 was only made available for the WiiU, the team would have to learn a new engine **on top** of the copycat engine. No wonder the game was a mess, triggering the domino of cataclysm for the studio.
This game is a major disappointment. I really just want a new amazing X-Men game. One equivalent to the old X-Men legends titles, and the Wolverine game based off the 2009 film. Edit: Activision is horrible. Forcing a game developer to make a game in 1 year and not giving them any more time to give it polish. I hope we never see a superhero game from them again.

Explosion destroys a city, protagonist gets super powers, protag fights a villainous group, protag makes a choice of whether they should be a hero or villain...I swear, this game is like a lame ass copy of Infamous.
As one of the poor bastards who played Too Human (not when it came out, but I did finish it), I can personally tell you aren't missing much Jadow. Don't even bother tracking down a 360 (if you ever had plans to do so) just to review one of the worst games I ever played. I would even go so far as to say it's my own personal Superman 64 in terms of the amount of boredom and rage the game caused me.

And as expansive as the X-Men franchise is, it just seems bizarre to just solely focus on the X-Men for this game when this apparently is set in the Marvel Universe, or at least a version of the Marvel Universe reminiscent of the comic universe as of the time the game was released. Where's SHIELD, the Avengers, Fantastic Four, or anyone else to help out the mutants with this situation? Yeah there's the excuse "well they're busy with other stuff", but it doesn't exactly hold water when Wolverine, Beast, Quicksilver, and several others are Avengers, and any one of em could've given em a call. Maybe that was part of the fallout of the game's shitty development and Mike Carey (writer of the X-Men Legacy comic at the time) probably wasn't given enough time to flesh out a full-fledged script for it. I remember reading about this game from an article on GameInformer magazine back in 2011, and I never really cared much for it. I assumed that it was a tie-in game for First Class, but then realized it was a standalone game. And that was I knew about it, but then I mostly overlooked it to read about Batman: Arkham City.
Oh, and GI gave it a 5.5 out of 10 after it released.
And that alone speaks for itself.

I liked the idea this game was going for. Choosing your own new X-men character and have RPG style choices. I want to hopefully see another X-men game with this combat system but turn it into more of an RPG with real choices and consequences and put the focus on creating your own X-men character. What are your thoughts on this idea Darklordjadow? Also i never realized that this version was so radically different from the ps3 and 360.verison.
It sounds like a good idea, but then; any real role playing game should have consequences to your choices.

Huh, the combat is giving me flashbacks of DCUO.
Probably because it was a similar build, pick your power, weapon and some clothing design (cosmetic only), and the combat having a combo system. But even in that game you did have tough fights against characters that you know, but I don’t recommend choosing the same mentor (Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman for hero’s, and lex Luther, joker, and Circe for villains) or the same side because it’s a one trick pony. You will get sick of similar missions because the missions that are not part of the mentor campaign is exactly the same regardless of faction.
And honestly the game is very dated (DCUO I mean) since honestly i would’ve loved to have brainiac or Trigon as mentors, a 3rd faction that can show true power to both sides, be your own hero/villain without handicaps of letting characters live because they can’t die for game’s sake.
The game is pretty much dead, last time I’ve played it.
Terrors of the Library is my favorite series on UA-cam.

He has a recurring sketch on his Late Night show where he wishes Happy Birthday to viewers, but due to time limitations on the show he also has to hash out issues with his neighbor Dennis at the same time.
I like the man's sketches and monologues, but his "A Closer Look" sketch where he digs into the shit that's going on with the government became too repetitive and depressing to keep watching.

there was one moment in the game that actually gave me a chuckle, its when the jock dude and another x-man named Surge talk during a prison level, and when she mentioned boobie traps, at the end she asks "and did you just snicker when i said boobie traps?" im not sure if its in the wii shit version, but i played it on PS3, soooooo there

At least John Romero wasn't scamming people out of money to make Daikatana. All his crimes amount to was unchecked egotism and a game that shouldn't have been released as it was. And a failure of an ad campaign. Sure, he was salty at id (chiefly Carmack) for booting him out, but you didn't see him sue id for everything he did for Doom and Quake only to make a game that was just Doom except with a different name.
P.S.: I find it equally funny and sad that DENNIS is trying to resurrect the Legacy of Kain IP because of both how much of a mess Nosgoth was and just how the team behind LoK fell apart after Defiance.
There are so many "big star" devs who become arrogant shitheads with egos so big that their heads don't fit in the room anymore, who leave "the corporation holding them back" only to then try to replicate what made them successful the first time and fuck it up spectacularly. Romero, Blezinski, Kojima, Dyack, Naka, Inafune, etc.
@@MrRuano825 Romero wasn't actually responsible for the ad, nor did he approve of it. And for the record, to avoid making two comments: Death Stranding isn't bad, it's just different, and the only thing Lawbreakers was guilty of was bad luck. Jumping on a hate train doesn't say good things about one's intellect. Not that that matters anymore I guess. Nobody cares if they're correct, they just want an excuse to be outraged about something. If it justifies cancelling people and setting things on fire, that's all that matters.
Side note: I have Nosgoth. I've never played it because at the time, the concept of never being able to play a game I _paid for_ was completely alien to me, and by the time I wanted to, it was too late.

@ootdega Beszinski wouldn't shut up about "Billion Dollar IP" and kept throwing shit at Xbox, Kojima's ego is so big that he actually tried to compare Death Stranding to The Sound of Music and kept going on an on about it being "a brand new genre" when it's just another generic open world game, Inafune was already building a Mighty No.9 multimedia franchise before the game was even out, Romero kept claiming off that Daikatana would revolutionize shooters again even before the add and only left Id because his ego was too big for the office room, the list goes on.
All those devs were way over their heads thinking anything they touch would turn into pure gold, they were declaring their games to be mega hit successes long before they came out always with the logic "I made this popular game before!" and never missed a chance to give themselves all the credit for their past successes and believing they had another glorious masterpiece.

My God, Activision serious had an addicition of screwing over Wii owners back in the day.
I get that the Wii wasnt as powerful as the PS3 or the XBox 360, and I can't complain too much since I owe a Wii and a PS3, but that does NOT excuse the fact that Wii Owners kept getting fucked by them.
I mean, is there at least ONE Activision published game on the Wii that the company DIDN'T screw over: because after the games you listed and this game, I'm beginning to think there isn't.
Spider-Man Shattered Dimensions came to the Wii un-molested; just with a graphical downgrade and no Captain Universe DLC Skins.
Spider-Man Web of Shadows had a significant graphical downgrade and some performance issues, but otherwise the Wii Port is the same as the others. The Wii version actually got 6 alternate costumes as recompense for the decreased performance, and people with the other versions were PISSED!
Battleship is a weird case because while the Wii and XBox 360/PS3 got completely different games, the Wii's Turn-Based Strategy setup was a vast improvement over the other consoles' dull shooter.

24:34 According to what happened, Disney did somewhat sabotage the game. Disney wanted to pull out Marvel Activision agreement. But they let all the other marvel games finish without much interference. But they did pull this game budget. But it was more of a contributor then the cause. As the reason this game got it budget pull was because Disney saw that the game was not being received well by Activision and Marvel. So it is true, but not what ruined the game.

I'm rather surprised that a Wii and DS versions were made for this game. DS version could possibly be by a different studio. But the Wii version being developed by SK? Since Unreal Engine 3 was only made available for the WiiU, the team would have to learn a new engine **on top** of the copycat engine. No wonder the game was a mess, triggering the domino of cataclysm for the studio.

This game is a major disappointment. I really just want a new amazing X-Men game. One equivalent to the old X-Men legends titles, and the Wolverine game based off the 2009 film.
Edit: Activision is horrible. Forcing a game developer to make a game in 1 year and not giving them any more time to give it polish. I hope we never see a superhero game from them again.

As one of the poor bastards who played Too Human (not when it came out, but I did finish it), I can personally tell you aren't missing much Jadow. Don't even bother tracking down a 360 (if you ever had plans to do so) just to review one of the worst games I ever played. I would even go so far as to say it's my own personal Superman 64 in terms of the amount of boredom and rage the game caused me.

Ever since I saw this game's first trailer, I had a feeling it'd be a major letdown. Then the reviews came in and I'm happy I avoided it. Hell, the concept alone just sounded limp. Why bother choosing 3 different characters when ya might as well create your own? And as expansive as the X-Men franchise is, it just seems bizarre to just solely focus on the X-Men for this game when this apparently is set in the Marvel Universe, or at least a version of the Marvel Universe reminiscent of the comic universe as of the time the game was released. Where's SHIELD, the Avengers, Fantastic Four, or anyone else to help out the mutants with this situation? Yeah there's the excuse "well they're busy with other stuff", but it doesn't exactly hold water when Wolverine, Beast, Quicksilver, and several others are Avengers, and any one of em could've given em a call. Maybe that was part of the fallout of the game's shitty development and Mike Carey (writer of the X-Men Legacy comic at the time) probably wasn't given enough time to flesh out a full-fledged script for it. At least Spider-Man Ps4 had an excuse, or at least was just a good enough game you didn't have to think about it too much.

Anthem, to be fair, is going to get a massive overhaul like No Man's Sky did.
