It’s time that most American country music fans embrace the legacy of Ian Tyson as the father of classic cowboy country music. The beauty of Canadian country music and culture worth experiencing and exploring, many American country singers like Willie Nelson., Glen Campbell, George Straits and many others to pay their respect to the true singing cowboy who stay true to his Canadian and American heritages. His tragic experience of losing his amazing voice to a rare viral illness, though didn’t crush his spirit until a fatal cardiac arrest ended his life and his career. All we now have is the legendary recordings he left behind, along with his ex wife. Sylvia Fricker- Tyson who we also love and admired. It’s time for the legendary Ian Tyson to shine brighter than ever as we also remember the second legendary singer and songwriter, Gordon Lightfoot. Rest In Peace to the two shining stars of Canada’s beauty and pride.🇨🇦🇺🇸❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Beautiful shots of Ian with his beloved horses. Hearing him in full voice singing “Home on the Range” was a treat, and why we loved this amazing singer/songwriter. 🎶❤️ R.I.P., Ian. 😇 Thank you for the music.
My father's favorite tune. He has been gone for 66 years Dec 30. I'm 72. Oldest Cowboy song on the planet. I pic and sing it now and again.....But not like Ian. What a loss!
I often wonder if some of the best singers just don't end up insanely popular so that those of us that appreciate their talent get the full measure of their gifts. It's not diluted by fad or populism and we are the grateful recipients of such beauty.
I remember back in the 50s in New Hampshire seeing loggers wrap a log chain around a fallen log and attach it to a mule to pull it away. The log was heavy and the mule wasn't too eager to pull it, so they had to crack a whip to make the mule move. The Good Ol Days...
