Love the floor bed idea! And caring for herself shelf, and changing table idea!
I am glad to see that I am not the only that has things as a work in progress. We love our floor bed. But my baby is not mobile yet and I know I have to get things ready very soon. You have a great set up. Thanks for the video.
I love this bed!
In case you haven't done anything with the free space yet: I just went to Ikea last week and they have the cutest comfy chairs for kids!
This is great! Question, where were you changing her diaper then? My daughter just turned 1 and we want to transition to a Montessori style bedroom too but I’ve never figured out what to do w diaper changing table
I am looking at setting up a room for my son soon,
how did the ikea bed go? i am thinking of also using it for my montessori room. Would you recommend it after using it for sometime.
Do you have a video on how to fix the Kura bed to do that?
We just assembled our kura bed and the nursery is exactly as this but the ladder is on the otherside of the wall.did u do any change while assembling it?
How easy was it to make the floor bed Ikea hack, did you follow any online instructions? I was looking at the Ikea assembly instructions and those looked so complicated, let alone un-haked
Do you have any mold problems? With the mattress ?
how thick is that mattress?
What mattress is this? Is it also from Ikea? I want to make sure my daughter's mattress will fit this bed. Thanks!
Wondering the same about the mattress, I'm going to be setting up his bed like this soon!
So my baby usually loves sleeping in his floor bed (similar setting) but out of no where he is going through a stage where he just gets out of bed and plays and I go back in and put him back and he does it again for ages. Anyone else having similar issues, what to do should I just let him roam freely until he decides to sleep?
I'd let him run freely as that's I thought that's the purpose of the floor bed x x
I keep all my sons toys in the living room with a baby gate at his bedroom door. He has a few stuffed animals and a few books in his room but that’s it. Don’t really have an issue with him getting up in the middle of the night though, just an idea for you!

Thank you for the video, I wanted to ask you about the mattress, do you think is it safe (to sleep on the floor on the mattress in winter, because it is much colder air down, some people telling me that a baby can catch a cold)?
Cute room, well done! Ignore the ignorant, I doubt your child will freeze, especially 8n a modern day home, the you'llget a cold with a mattress on the bed is left over stage from a significantlydifferent point in human history. It's much safer for a child to not be in a crib and be at a height where they can safely have their independence.
wait. i live in canada ontario. is it illegal to do this? i would love to do it
Randi Matthews why would it be illegal?
because they have very high safety standards for babies and they have to be in a crib until a certain age of something. im not sure what the laws are that's why im asking if it would be illegal lol
I see. Thanks for answering! :) I totally understand the concern, but cribs pose a relatively high safety risks themselves, and I don't see why any government would be opposed to a safe, clean environment for a child just because a mattress is on the floor. The Montessori method is quite well known internationally so I'm sure it would also be acceptable. Although I don't live in Canada (I'm American but live in Germany now) so I don't know how it's seen there, but I've never heard of laws requiring babies sleep in cribs at any point. Mostly just laws that prohibit unsafe environments/handling/neglect of children.
Please people DONT FEED THE TROLLS
She has really boring toys though. Even for a minimalist approach that room is drab sad and boring. No room for open toys, or creativity
Not true at all
Wrong.
I gotta say I was sad looking at the room
