The very fact that you can afford an exam of 10-15 lakh rupees after doing mbbs from a private college. You are in no position to say that something unfair is being done to you in name of reservation. Your parents already “bought” a medical seat. 90% of those reservations kids don’t have this much money to afford a private medical seat or attempt usmle . It’s very easy to criticise system on your country when you are not used to struggle because your rich parents gave you a very protected environment.
Buying a private MBBS seat and completing course alone makes upto 50lacs and to spend for usmle journey another 25-30 lacs , so whole sum of one crore . If both parents are doctors then definitely some one can take such huge risk in life , a middle class people can't afford for loans to pay for their future uncertained journey. Very misleading ,unless u have good bank balance u can't afford to take such risks.
I'm a doctor. Both my children are doctors, from government medical Colleges. My experience, most of the doctors who go to USA are from private medical colleges who can afford expensive externships and wonderful LORs. So please DO NOT mislead Indian doctors today
This means that you don't have any idea in USMLE and the trend of people going to USA. I can say for sure that majority of the people more than 70-80% of the people take USMLE are from government medical colleges and premier institutes like AIIMS. Please open eyes.
Hey Namita mam , the harsh reality is , you and your kids are not capable to crack all steps of Usmle..... Usmle is not a joke.It is not only game of externship and LORs, it requires 25+ hours examination and 6+2 years hardwork patience & perseverance.
Yeah . Indian residency is a joke . People are literally doing menial work which a doctor is not supposed to do plus the toxicity and working hours are insane . The compensation for all this is really poor as well. Can’t wait to start my fellowship in US .
Hi Dr Madaan, glad to see u doing well. Noticed in the video that u displayed a job offer u had got in Hershey. Is Hershey an underserved area ? I thought Indian citizens/IMGs should serve in underserved areas for 2-3 years after residency. Or have they changed the rules? Edit : Hi Dr Madaan.. awaiting ur reply :)
I am one of those rarest individual in our planet who have cleared both UK exams(MRCP UK +Neurology SCE- all First attempt) and finished all parts of USMLE(Step1+Step2+Step3- First attempt). I will say there is a vast difference in study approach and both are unique in so many ways. Especially Step3 USMLE is heavy biostatistics based exam on day 1 and PACES is a pure clinical skill exam on real patients with active illness. MRCP-UK according to me the best Internal Medicine exam in the world which is adequately standardized to the level of PG IM Training however USMLE is overall the toughest exam in the world due to the sheer intensity of exam stipulation such as number of questions in each single hour section of the exam as well as the length of clinical vignettes hence time plays a key role in solving a USMLE question. The BEST!

I don’t get the concept of reservation at PG level that too 60% and i am sure its going to increase by the current government for votes…At UG level its fine we somehow fight and get the seat but it gets very difficult at this stage…Rather than putting so much of hardwork and time its better to prepare for USMLE

A good bulk of doctors are leaving India every year and looking at the conditions of doctors in India, this number is only going to increase. But USA is no more the top choice for doctors wanting to settle abroad. There are European countries as well as Middle Eastern countries which are giving great opportunities to doctors from India. Many are also going to certain African countries. The choices are a lot at this point, specially considering the fact that MD/MS/DNB are being recognized by majority countries abroad. So if someone wants to leave, USA is no more the best option, according to me.

Private practice for doctors in cities in India is competitive, but come to inter area where I am and here the gynaecologist is earning 10-12 lakhs per month.... And cost is living is real really low compared to usa or eu, just that plus you can expand into business ventures like crazy with minimal competition, just that if you are hell bent on living in metros, you won't earn much.... This is not so in usa or eu, also you spend far more number of years Just in hospital training in western countries than in in India that when you earn youre actually too old. Usa work life balance is bad, eu is best, in india if you are in job it's bad, but if you have chain of clinics or are owner, it's completely on you, so students and doctors should have a clear view, in usa as an Indian you will only get internal or family medicine whether you like it or not and that too after lot of uncertainty, getting others isn't impossible but very very difficult... And you'll mostly have to live in underdeveloped part of usa not the better once. Add to that the loneliness and having money but no time and people to spend it on, with your hair turning grey, 2 lakh initial savings isn't that rosy, if you consider the freedom of practice and untouched business opportunities here in India. Yes, if you can save 6 lakh and above in usa per month it's a good option... Am a doctor in odisha, India. Mbbs only... And it's just my opinion. Also those who really want quality of life should choose Germany instead of usa pg, eu is far better to live and raise kids than usa, at any point of time also social security benefits are just awesome. And it's very very easy to get into eu than usa or even neet pg in India. All the best
Sahi baat hai. India me log theke waale ko namaste karenge, respect denge. Par agar sath me doctor ka clinic hoga to koi b nahi puchhega. Indian me ek problem aur hai, log khud se hi Google search kar ke apna ilaj karna shuru kar dete hai. Fir jab thoda time k baad case kharaab ho jata hai to doctor k paas jate hai. Fir agar result utna positive nahin aayega to doctor ko picheey se galat bolenge. Apni galti nahi dekhenge na us medical store wale ki jo tukke marte hai ilaaj karne me. India me medical field is very tough in the upcoming years. Also India's gdp expenditure on medical field is very low. Sir ne AYUSH doctors ki baat kari starting k pointers me. But kuch ayush doctor bhi responsibility lete hai. Inko bhi apne respective state medical boards se register hona padta hai. Apna clinic chlane k liye CMO,DI etc. se permission leni padti hai. They come under biomedical waste act, pollution acts, and all other medical acts. They are regulated. I want to add ASHA wrkr program. Aap isse kaise ignore kar sakte hai. 10-12padhi hui asha worker pcm, albendaxole, etc. provide kya prescibe bhi karti hai unofficially. COVID TIME pe hmne dekha hai. Aur shayad auron ne bhi dekha hoga jb azithr, pcm vit c zn etc otc ki tarah bik rahe they. Congratulations to you sir ki aap USA me ho. There is no work life balance in india in medical field. And the indian doctors are highly low paid. Compare the annual income of India's top doctor with that of other professions. Example with acting, cricket, software, hardware, automobile, engineers. They all earn more than doctors. I have seen doctor fee in india in private from 50-500 per patient in opd. And more than 80% of them are complicated or self-doctor, via Google. Good luck sir for your future.

Exactly and he is saying his parents made bare minimum😂

I'm a doctor. Both my children are doctors, from government medical Colleges. My experience, most of the doctors who go to USA are from private medical colleges who can afford expensive externships and wonderful LORs. So please DO NOT mislead Indian doctors today
Please grow up Madam
How many patients have you treated till now?
I am from aiims most of my seniors and many of juniors are settled in USA, they keep cribbing though about USA

The BEST!
Oh so the rest of us doctors who stay back are lesser than the best?
Just say y'all are hungry for money and do not care about the people of India who need doctors, instead of painting yourself as genius heroes.
Disgusting
I agree, he should not have used the word “best” in the title.
Dont get into the trap and dont say best of the brains going ohtside. In my batch best of the brains are here only. And after u see situatiin in canada, dont leave ur country anything can happen in future. Apna desh apna hi hota hai. U never know what will happen in future so its better to stay in our own country. Plus i understand people earn more there but what abiut social life? You will never be known by anyone, no respect, no relatives, no family. Living alone in world , going to cafe and living with a cat is not everyone's dream though.
Add exam scams too...see the status of neet...
I don’t get the concept of reservation at PG level that too 60% and i am sure its going to increase by the current government for votes…At UG level its fine we somehow fight and get the seat but it gets very difficult at this stage…Rather than putting so much of hardwork and time its better to prepare for USMLE
If your already post ug
U already make more money than general people
And yet u still get reservation...

Toxic and unsupportive working environment , overtly streched duty hours many of which comprises of mundane activities, and many institutes in India is just incapable to expose the post graduate students to latest skillset and interventions to their concerned domain, these are mostly the reasons due to which almost 1200 pg residents are compelled to drop out from pg course inspite of hefty seat leaving bond amount. If there were no seat leaving bond amount, I can say that more than 50% of pg residents wd hv left from the course. These r some snapshots of pathetic state of affairs of doctors in India. Lastly work life balance is a cruel joke 😂😂 in India.

Can you pls enlighten me regarding the countries which recognize our indian pg degrees?
What's the use of cutting of technology when the country is run down with all time gun violence, racism specially now agianst indian, with high housing prices , foods .
