I ordered and received mine 2 months ago and it sounds totally different through my tube amp. Almost sounds like yours is "broken" The breakup on mine sounds absolutely amazing that's why I find it so strange that it sounds so bad with your dark terror. Oh well, I'm happy/lucky it sounds good on my amp, honestly can't stop using it even though I have waaay more expensive pedals, this has been my go to pedal for the last 2 months.
I played it trough a 100% clean channel and i'm pretty astounded by this pedal. Was pretty sure I was going to be disappointed, but I'm not. It doesn't sucks as it is on this demo. Got a real mad tube amp sound out of it. Much close to the original too. Altough I'm not comparing it to the real thing either to be fait. Sadly no side to side demo out there yet.
That is great to hear you got an awesome sound out of yours. I wish I knew someone local that owned the original so I could borrow it from them to do a side by side comparison. I may have to give this pedal another shot then.
I had an Orange Dark Terror. Very unpredictable (massive variance in sound on hot/cold, humid/dry days) and terrible pedal platform. This 100% reminds me of the nightmare I had trying to get drive pedals to sound good with it. Try a more appropriate amp for trying out drive pedals.
I have had some amazing results with the dark terror adding pedals. I just can't use the effect loop send and return... As it's not serial... Which was very frustrating when I realized this... I think cheap pedals don't pair as well as other pedals from what I've done on this channel.
I did a couple of tests with this pedal on this channel and it fell short every time. I may have to try it again. I have the harley benson mighty 15th amp head now I may have to try it with.
This Orange Dark Terror is horrible, there is no condition for you to do a pedal test using it!!! This pedal that you tested is incredible but the Orange made its sound crap!!!
You are correct. It took me a few attempts with this pedal to find a good pairing... I think the best was using as a preamp if I recall. If you get a chance, check out that video.
@@metalprognosis Cool, I'll see!!! Taking the opportunity, make a video of the DEMONFX R3 pedal which is a copy of the famous REVV G3! This pedal is new and there is no video of it yet! Congrats on the channel!
@@1986gighino this video it was infront of the amp, as the dark terror effects loop is parallel, which means 20% of original signal still comes through... which really annoys me... I just filmed another video putting through the effects loop of the victory kraken amp.... hopefully it'll be edited and posted soon for everyone.
Maybe as it's a Pedal of an Amp you should use it like a Pre-Amp & put it through your FX Loop if you have it. Mine & other videos I've seen do & it sounds great. 👍🏻🎸⚡️🇦🇺
I can try that with the Kraken amp... The Dark Terror sadly is a parallel loop, so you get I think 20% original sound come through... Which is very annoying...
Yeah mate this doesn't sound much like the official Friedman one imo. Quite unpleasant breakup. Btw hows it going putting together that boost pedal kit?
Hi Josh, still waiting for the kit to arrive! Our city just went into a lockdown due to the pandemic... so I fear there may be more delays in shipping....
Were you trying to make it sound bad? That is a knock off of a HIGH GAIN pedal. No one uses high gain pedals to drive an already driven amp. The amp doesnt like it. Lol its collapsing in on itself to saturated. Either turn ALL gain off of the amp or run the pedal zero gain all volume and there is way to much low end it's all flubby. But again that pedal is designed to take you from an ultra clean sound to crushing metal gain. Oh and try to turn your volume on the guitar down aswell
I never try to make something sound bad (unless it's a clean up video). I know I haven't chained this pedal to get it's best result yet. I will try it again in the next couple of weeks using it through the effects loop of one of my amps and see how that goes! I want this pedal to be awesome... Just need to figure out how to make it shine!
@@metalprognosis Again the real friedman brown eye overdrive is a high gain distortion pedal. This is an exact clone rip off of the original. The issue here is friedman calls it an overdrive. It is not an overdrive it is a distortion pedal made to go from clean to mean. It should not push the front of an already saturated amp of any degree. Friedman failed when they call it an overdrive. It should be labeled a distortion. Also I own an original and inside there is a trim pot to adjust the amount of gain the pedal will provide. Check the clone it probably has one too. If you want to experiment and drive an already driven amp then back the gain down internally and run the pedal set with no gain. And use volume and tone knobs to adjust to your taste. Start with clean amp, pedal volume on zero gain on zero and increase volume slighty until you hear it... then bring gain up on the amp until its chunky and breaking up then turn up the pedal volume not gain, I think you will find a much better crunch But it was designed to do from clean to mean, to turn your crappy solid state bedroom amps into a beast
@@BobBob-dv2qh I am very keen for the clean to mean result! I'll film another video for you to check out using this pedal taking on your suggestions. Keep your eyes out for that video!
Very true, it took me a few attempts to get the chain right for this pedal. If you get a chance check out my last video I did on this pedal. It took I think four different approaches to find the best way to get the best results, which was through the effects loop of my harley benton mighty 15th if I recall.
I just ordered it, but more motivated by the comments than by the sound of this video... Excuse the honesty and thanks for the comments
That's awesome!
The main purpose was to have the conversation! Let us know how you go with it.

That's great to hear, mine could be broken. The most important thing is that your one is working well for you.
dark terror isnt the best sounding anyway
Its probably the Dark Terror. I heard other demos of this pedal & this sounds like the amp is really influencing the overall tone.
Should try it to the Friedman.good video
Would love to. Need to find someone I know to borrow from, as they are a bit expensive brand new.

Orange is a really bad pedal plateform, try it alone with a clean amp or in a direct out with a cab sim, sounds awesome like the original.
