Rare DemonFX Fortin 33 clone

- If you've ever wanted a Fortin 33 clone, you'll have to find it from another company because it looks like DemonFX only sold five of these with the reverse 33 as the graphic, and I have two of those five. For just $30 each, it was worth just to try it out. Little did I know that a day or two later, DemonFX would pull the pedal off their online shop due to trademark infringement. Let me know what you guys think in the comments below. For any boost test, I always run my Triple Rectifier because lord knows that amp NEEDS it, so it's a great amp to run a boost test! Hahaha!

Here in Germany the 33 cost 299 Euro. For a Booster??? Even if it's handmade it's grossly overpriced.
I own some boosters, the LPB-1 is one of my favorites. I own a DOD FX40B EQ and used as a booster (only using the level control) it sound amazing and with the option to use the EQ for finer tune the guitar signal.
I like pedals from china. The most are not clones because details are different. Near all pedal makers started to use a famous circuit and rebuilded it or modded it. And this is ok because there is no copyright on simple electrical circuits we find in pedals. So many pedals exist based on the Tube Screamer or Rat or Muff, etc.. When i started playing guitar in the 90s i wished there was so many nice china pedals, the only affortable pedals this days was Boss, DOD and Digitech.
Of course you can argue that you should buy originals because someones mouth get feeded in the USA or Germany...but when u buy from China there are persons too u feed their mouth. At least everyone can decide for themselves if buy products from the home country or from China or can afford it.

$233 us outrageous. I bought the demon fx and can still buy bread milk eggs bacon and be OK. Fortin takes demon fx makes

honestly these pedals are too much. 200 for a pedal is ridiculous anywhere on this planet. manufacturers in the USA better figure out a way to sell these pedal for under 100.00 otherwise they are going to lose. you get paid in proportion to the problem you solve. Good tone isn't a major world problem so they better get things into perspective. Hopefully china forces USA workers to get perspective.

So currently I have a Mesa throttle box OD but I think after watching this video, I might just have to replace it with the cloned out 33. If I have to, I might just go out and get the real thing. But thanks for this awesome review. Two 👍👍 up. 🤘
I had the throttle box and there are definitely better boosts. I sold that one and my TB EQ as well.
I have the GupTech Grindr and it's still less than half the price of the fortin. And better imo since it has 2 modes. But I love that Demonfx is making even more affordable stuff

I have bought a few demon fx pedals.I’ve bought the Freedman BE pedal.I mean Friedman🤣.I have the Demon pedal with the TS9 and 808 built in and I sold my Maxon 808 because of it and I also have the Horizon precision drive clone pedal and all I can say is wow!.
I know it sucks these companies are getting ripped off but this business is an expensive game and if I can cut corners by buying clone pedals to make the this expensive hobby cheaper then I’ll be doing it.
So here's a little twist, should these American companies consider lowering their prices to a degree, to help alleviate these inflated prices? Or should they remain the same, since having a Fortin 33 is a bit more prestigious than having a DemonFX 33 clone? In the end, we ultimately care about the sound we get, so should the brand really matter?
Also are these companies being ripped off though, as most are just copies of original circuits from the early pedal Innovators and the boom of the DIY scene, look how JHS and Wampler started etc....They are all just variations of the same electronic theme....Plus these pedals are great, especially for those who the original pedals are far out of reach financially, more choice for all I say.
They may have taken it of Alibaba but it’s still for sale all over Amazon and EBay!

I knew Ricky Rick was gonna pop up!! I’ll buy American all day long. The only imported thing on the board is the TU3. This pedal sounds pretty authentic, I think the low shelf is more pronounced though.

Where have you been, bro! And yes, it's a great pedal and oddly enough, I personally like it better but that's because it has to have more than the 22db the 33 puts out.

There’s one on reverb that’s a double boost with an ec boost with an effects loop as well. Waiting for one now. I’ve gotten a few demon fx pedals so far. Hey, with gas this high, I’ll rock the shit out them pedals.

For $30 bucks, it's really good. I'm fairly certain they used a much higher potentiometer on this guy.
I wish to have the budget to get the real deal but if i can get something really close to the 33 for a fraction of the price would be nice for my tone and my pocket

It's blocked in the EU, Japan, US, Canada and Mexico. I know a guitarist who bought two in the Philippines. Some countries don't care about the trademarks from other countries, China is like that too. :) Such a great pedal!
Demonfx makes some quality stuff. Got the dual boost with 33 and ep booster in one, since the 33 clone wasn't available anymore. The price of Fortin is too much, especially it's a clone of the tc preamp with some tweaks.

The demonfx 33 is discontinued cause the name , replaced by the demonfx 66
My buddy AK Ray from Skarhead got one of the 66 models the other week! Hahaha! I think it's funny how they changed things to go around trademark infringements. It's the company who make WANGS amplifiers.

Billy! I'm glad you ordered it! I did see that dual pedal, it should be really good! One of my knobs fell off and I had to replace one, so check yours when it arrives. :)
There's also a clone of the KSR Ceres called the Ly-Rock 3 channel preamp that's about $100 bucks as opposed to the $500 dollar Ceres, and it sounds exactly the same and even has the foot pedal jack and internal jumpers just like the real pedal. Funny thing about the overpriced American pedals is they actually get about 99% of their electronic components directly from China.
I actually bought two of them but never made a video out of respect for Kyle and the KSR family. Kyle is honestly a really great dude and I just couldn't put a video out with the LY-Rock. :) Sold them both after a while.

Its really an ethical dilemma with this Chinese cloning manufacturer because the persons doing these demonfx have families that they need to feed too.
Yes, that's the opposite end of that spectrum. It's definitely a personal preference to see which side to one should be on.

I have purchased a ridiculous number of Chinese clones of the Tech 21 character series. None of them sound like the originals and they all sound different from each other. The pedal you are reviewing says it’s clone, but it’s not, it has way more gain. I bet if you compared them with very critical listening they would not sound identical, so it’s more an homage than something that identically replaces the original

Louis, you ever think about reviewing speakers? No, not the V30 or the G12-75, etc. I'm talking about the hidden gems. Speakers make a bigger different in tone than woods, pickups, or even pedals. It could be fun and informative. Just a thought.
The issue with speakers is each one is over $125 and if you order ten, you're at $1,250 and if you decide to create a pair for each, you're now at $2,500 and officially have a room full of speakers. I hear what you're saying but it doesn't make financial sense when I'm only making about $250 a month from UA-cam. I'd rather buy a $2,500 guitar or two or three used heads that I can use. :)

They cloned *THE* TS9
and *THE* TS808. Not variants of them. That's why they don't have multiple versions of ts9/808 pedals. They have versions 1 and 2 of a single OD pedal.
That's it. No variants. Not even a single variant. They copied the actual ts9 and the actual ts808.

not going to support demonfx, but i wonder if you vpn out of the US/north america if it still show up available….
I checked using a few different European IP addresses and it didn't show but a buddy in the Filippines was able to buy one.

Nowhere. Because of trademark infringement, they have been removed and are no longer available by the manufacturer. Only five were sold.
They do a dual pedal that has a 33 in it too
