    19:05 Solstickan! I’ve always really liked the design of their match boxes. :)

    I think a fairly important thing about those berry beshes is that they were probably planted by your neighbors, which is why you should ask for permission before picking the berries. Allemansrätten mainly applies to wild berries. Also, you cannot pick nuts on someone elses property, interestingly. The reason is basically that wild berries used to be considered worthless because you can't live on them, but you can live on nuts.

      Oh interesting also about the nuts! I guess in the old days nuts were just so much more important. The neighbors were almost never there and the berries were never picked - that made it so hard for me, haha. But I think the birds got some at least.

      @@lisasomewhere88 If you are there to the next autumn just ask them if you can pick the berries. I would be very surprised if they said anything except yes as long as they do not pick them themselves.

    Good to see that you're settling in and enjoying the place - and that you got your bag. About Allemansrätten and berries, I guess you figured that one out. You're allowed to pick wild berries but not in close proximity to someone else's house. What's considered close proximity seems to be a matter of interpretation but it's usually considered to be within 20-40 meters from the house.
    And yeah, I eat while watching YT, too.😅

      Haha! And thanks for clarifying! I am so bad about guessing distances though - but I guess the neighbors are just a bit too close (even though they´re not here). I´ve seen birds eating their abandoned berries which makes me feel better. :)

      Yeah, those pesky birds have no sense of propriety.😄@@lisasomewhere88

    You cannot pick berries in peoples gardens, but you can pick them in the forest and other places.

    • @lisasomewhere88
      @lisasomewhere88  Рік тому +3

    Oh sweet summer child.... In Sweden you basically don't exist without a personal number. And the personal number is not easy to get without having a job (some kind of work permit) and a place to live. You can't even open a bank account without it. And as you have already discovered. Buy a car or get a sim card.
    The personal number is hard to get because it is what gives you access to all the things that we pay one of the worlds highest taxes for. Free healthcare and education. And things like unemployment benefit. Or just welfare in general.
    As in many other countries, it's easier to be a asylum seeker and get in that way than to actually try to move here and work.
    That's the main reason why you don't move to Sweden on a whim :)

    • @lisasomewhere88
      @lisasomewhere88  Рік тому +4

      Haha, yes, very very true. That realization just came after I was determined to move to Sweden rather quickly. But luckily there is also the Coordination Number and helpful people on the way.. :)
