I have listened to this particular album over a 1000 times and it never gets old, the only thing that gets old about it is my scratched up and torn album cover
When the Who outprogged prog. If Quadrophenia is the best thing they ever created (which it was), then this is the best single piece of music they ever created
This is about as good as a piece of music can be. An absolute joy to listen to. Quadrophenia for me is probably my favourite record of all time and my favourite by The Who. I've been listening to it for most of my adult life and I've yet to tire of it, as double albums go it's up there as one of the best ever recorded. A masterpiece.
Thank God that Roger and Pete are still with us. Having seen The Who in concert five times in my life, the last one in Toronto, I believe in 1982, I still love them as much as I did when I first heard them at the Monterey Pop Festival in 1967.
I’ve been a Who fan since the beginning and I waited 40 years to see them play this masterpiece live and it was so worth it. It was kind of an out of body experience reliving all those feelings it brought out in me as a teenager.
"Quadrophrenia" appeared during the fairly short-lived "quadrophonic" era of sound systems. It's one of the most under-rated double albums of all time.
Pete is the single most creative genius in the history of rock. All that out of one man's mind. And then to play that stuff while jumping all over the place! Never another one like him.
Also one of the most important albums in my life. I have such a love for this album and the explosiveness of each individual band members playing is simply put on fucking real
I had the limited edition.. id been to wigan casino and stopped off in chester on the sunday… bought it and a dark green parka [fishtail[ my sister borrowed it tomy cousin who scratched it badly.. to say I was pissed was understatement.. what would it be worth now..would I still have it...ive got rare northern vinyl worth a few quid ..but always miss this album..rip keith [loon was moon.bellboy[
QUDROPHINIA is probably one of my all-time favorite albums. I got to see them play it in its entirety in West Palm Beach 1997. My boyfriend surprized me that night with ticket's. I knew The Who were playing, but I didn't know they were doing Quadrophinia in its entirety. I went absolutely bonkers. It had always been a dream to see Quadrophinia, and they blew me away. It was a perfect night.
Yes looking back ii was lucky that my man knew how much it meant to me to see THE WHO PERFORM QUDROPHINIA. . For me it's probably they're best albums definitely one of my all-time favorite albums ever.. And that show OMFG. WAS AMAZING. It was everthing I hoped and expected it to be. Thankyou PETE,ROGER, JOHN,AND KIETH.
I saw them at the show about a week before in Liverpool. Just a brilliant gig, with an incredible atmosphere... A whole army of mods lined their scooters up along the Mersey outside the arena. The whole crowd seemed to be singing along with Quadrophenia. At the end Pete Townshend thanked the crowd for singing along saying: "You all sang beautifully, must be the Irish in you, or maybe that's the Welsh in you... Either way, you're all bastards!"
Oh. My. God. I am watching this for the first time. What a creation Pete has wrought. I'm almost in tears. Pete and Roger playing off each other in 5:15 is effing amazing! And the clip of The Ox killing it on bass - Wow! I've had the album since it was released and have been listening to it a lot lately. It is Pete's masterpiece. It is divine. The Who are my most loved, respected, and favorite band of all time. Pete is a living legend, a genius, the maestro! I have not seen them live in so many years and I pray I will get to see them before they retire! I'm getting my passport renewed - I will travel to England to see them if that's what it takes! (I wish I had gone to England when I was young and had stayed there!)
For some reason it was this album that turned me from a fan of the WHO into a fanatic. I still remember when it was released , putting in the record player and being transformed. I was fortunate enough to see the band when Keith was alive. The most powerful performance I have ever experienced
Great performance For me captures many different sensations in one piece of music that takes back yet will always be a part of me. Thank you again PT and the Who again
I won't tired to say that Quadrophenia is a masterpiece. I don't care what pretending "rock wise" people says about this long play, is my favourite record of rock.
This is my first viewing of this concert. It's beautiful. A passionate performance and terrific editing. A big thank you to whoever cut the shots together-the editor.
Quadrophenia live in London - The Who - audio con Bluray semplicemente straordinario , non oso immaginare se ci fossero stati sul palco anche Keith e John - mi auguro di rivederli presto in Italia !
some cheeky use of Beatles footage there, a thematic signal from "the might of our parents' struggles" to "the dwarfed quaintness of The Pop Scene." brilliant setting of the scene.
Listening to my sisters album, then seeing the movie in '79, I worked as a dishwasher till I could afford a Laker Air ticket in '80 to see Brighton for myself. It was a bank holiday, and I found myself in the middle of what I saw in the movie. The kids all were eager to hear about the USA as I was about them. Long Live Rock !
This band has been a part of me for 40 years even when I was a rocker At school and some of my mates were mods if I went round there house after school I had to listen to The who and they had to listen to maiden when they come to mine No Brighton fighting just mates Living a great life 😎😎
Keith died in 78.. RIP.. you can't have been watching much of the Who since then in that case if it still feels weird ? The current drummer Zak Starkey is probably the best drummer in the world right now, and he plays as good as Moon if not better. He may not get off his face on brandy etc. but he plays them drums better than anyone then or now.
I first knew The Who was in my early teens, the movie of Quadrophenia was aired on Japanese TV at midnight in 90s, and rushed to the CD shop next day. Since then I've listened to you. And I went to all the lives given in Japan. I'm a bit confused by how to interpret the nuclear bombing and signing scenes in this video but I believe those are not intended anyone to feel good or bad.
I love riding my bike while listening to this album in its entirety! But i gotta be carefull not to crash! 😂 Really a fun masterpiece by the greatest writer of all time....Pete Townsend.
I was arudn at this time but I never heard or saw Quadrophenia. And I cant say I know any songs from it. But I wil lwatch this. Its amazing how WWI and WWI influenced the Who and Roger Waters and Dire Straits. Makes one proud to be British
Quadrophenia is a masterpiece and the greatest opera rock in ever time The WHO Legend timeless
Yes a agree ! A timeless Album and Film !! It touches the soul 🎶🎶🎶♥️🇬🇧
I have listened to this particular album over a 1000 times and it never gets old, the only thing that gets old about it is my scratched up and torn album cover
Best album of the 70's Masterpiece of Mankind.
When the Who outprogged prog. If Quadrophenia is the best thing they ever created (which it was), then this is the best single piece of music they ever created
Bought this in '73 when I was 13 😌 The two album set (with storybook insert) is still at my mother's house 🙂
Same here hoss the book was cool😊
Die mannen vertellen iets super super
Alle weken speel ik dit af in mijn muziek kamer op hoog vollume metTannoys
The Who is the best real Rock n' Roll band ever !
Holy crap I teared up on that one! My favorite band of all time and a total Masterpiece of an LP.!
So touched to see Roger and Pete keeping on, as vital as ever. Two of my biggest influences...Quadrophenia is one of rock's masterpieces.
@@Adsgymtok yes, it's rock.

I am privileged to have heard this for the first time right now. It is exquisite.
I surely hope you've heard the complete albums 'Tommy' and 'Quadrophenia' Jennifer. Both are absolute masterpieces.
Check out their entire collection. Remember. Always play at maximum volume
2:16 was like visiting with a good old friend
Thank God that Roger and Pete are still with us. Having seen The Who in concert five times in my life, the last one in Toronto, I believe in 1982, I still love them as much as I did when I first heard them at the Monterey Pop Festival in 1967.
Heard the The Who on Q107 simulcast in Toronto in 82... brand new Marantz stereo.....what else can I say?
For Whom The Bell Tolls wow in 67 that’s so cool!
John Hebbes to bad Q107 love affair is a zeppelin affair . They hardly play THEWHO.
Beato a te!😮

My first time hearing it I was in high school. 66 now and still resonates. Great music stays with you
I was there. In awe. Theme tune to my youth being played right in front of me.
You are so lucky!!!
Hope, angst, dread, and reflection are emotions I hear in this amazing instrumental. Pete is a genius.
Unbeaten live performance of this amazing tune ever.
Soundtrack of my life.
Thanks Pete for this masterpiece.
"Quadrophrenia" appeared during the fairly short-lived "quadrophonic" era of sound systems.
It's one of the most under-rated double albums of all time.
Not underrated by m-m-my generation!
🎯✅✅✅💯
Vastly underrated. It represents The Who at their ultimate peak of songwriting & sonic bliss in full mastery!
>tfw i am listening to this in mono in 2023
This and Chicago at Carnegie Hall are the greatest four album sets in Rock history.
This is a masterpiece. Beautiful.,these guys are the best .true artists
beautiful song, played like gods. the Who are inmortals

Seen many bands, listened to a lot of music, The Who are so under appreciated and so good
When were the Who under appreciated?
The Who are certainly not under appreciated. They're up there with the Beatles, and Rolling Stones
gotta be one of the least spoken about groups for such a long time yet consisted of giants of music
I wish I could have been in London to see this. Quadrophenia is one of the most important rock albums of my life!
Same as me buddy! :)
Michael Gellman the greatest album ever. I saw the 1996? Quad tour. Blows you away
I was there and was speechless. All of a sudden the musical theme tune to my youth was being played for real. I was in a daze for days

Mine too...Bellboy is one of the most beautiful songs ever written and sung!! The Who are truly maximum R&B...
Back in the day, my dad was a Rocker. But he used to tell me that he loved The Who 🙌🏼
because the who were rockers in mod disguise,,hehe ,a band total and complete 100% mod : the great small faces
This entire concert is amazing. Caught it on TV and it's worth buying if you haven't seen it.

Absolutely dogs bollocks amazing band whose music will endure forever such fabulous talent
This is the greatest concept ever in rock music in light years ahead of The Beatles.
Love the way Pete swaps the red fender for the black one at 4:04 seamlessly
Great catch!
chills! a most beautiful powerful explosion of emotion!
96 Quadrophenia tour, Simon did all the electric work
Best song on the best album..light years ahead
Great performance For me captures many different sensations in one piece of music that takes back yet will always be a part of me. Thank you again PT and the Who again
My brother and I saw this performed in Glasgow as part of the quadrophenia 40th anniversary of the album tour. It was surreal. I fuckin loved it.
amazing song, performance, visual, production. It tells a story, stories, very emotional, almost brings tears to my eyes
After Quadrophenia everyone knew Pete Townsend was a genius.
After Tommy

After a Quick One

It is the most beautiful piece of music I know of.
Gets to me every time 😢
another great performance as always
I can feel the bombs dropping over London. I can feel the scared undercurrent. This is what music should do. The whole album is a masterpiece!
Bringing back memories of highschool and saw them perform this in 73'
I'd like to see the full movie again. Quadrophenia that is. Don't remember the last time I saw it from start to finish.
So timeless, moving - that historic reel in the background
Thumbs down? WHO could do such a thing. This was brilliant.
OMG. those images and the who live. It coudlnt get any better. What I would give to be there. EPIC
some cheeky use of Beatles footage there, a thematic signal from "the might of our parents' struggles" to "the dwarfed quaintness of The Pop Scene." brilliant setting of the scene.
Sencillamente magnífico.
Quadraphenia & Tommy are the best 2 rocks albums ever in my opinion and then WHO'S NEXT is 3rd
Pure magic.
I saw them do Quadrophenia at Wright-State university at Dayton, Ohio back in the 90's. Awesome! This is a chorus but it was a full rock opera

It feels so weird seeing The Who without John Entwistle or Keith Moon.
Daltrey and Townsend hated Moon and Entwistle. It was a very divided band.
They would have never still all be together if they were still alive
