Those kent engines were such easy engines to work on, durable and easily upgraded. I wish modern cars were still like this instead of the unnecessarily complex machinery and electronics around now.

When I did my x-flow I fitted the 1300 pistons in my 1600 "it bumps up the compression ratio but then when i fitted the DCOE's it would lock up on compression + fuel but when i tried 2 head gaskets "only for trial" it would fun nice with the dcoe's so I was back to single head gasket and the original 33/36 dtfm "it was a shame especially after putting the battery in the boot and running the 25mm, sq cable etc but i did have a bcf 3 cam and janspeed exhaust and manifold and a 2000E gearbox, It was very fast for a 1969 cortina mk2. 0-60 9 secs and about 118mph tops. Then I had a dustbin lorry cut across the front of me and wrote it off, I got £400 off the insurance (and kept the car) then sold the car to my brothering-law for another £400 (basically for the engine and exhaust and ancillaries) this was all about 30 years ago I was in my 20's

@@cianwoolley9073 Well from what I have seen you have just about everything in hand, But I will check over the other videos and see if there is anything I can suggest, There is one thing; Make sure you brace the DCOE's with a bracket from the engine as the webbers weight is too much for the inlet manifold to support, there was lots of stories of warped or broken inlet manifolds. Just incase you may be wondering I am a qualified vehicle engineer as well as a a auto electrician. anyway call me Paul and I live in North London.

My dad got to go the honours 😂 as is his motor 👍 but hopefully within the coming months the escort will be on its way and I might actually start recording it cause atm the cutting and that we hate so wouldn’t look good on camera 😂😂 but when that gets better I’ll start recording that but tomorrow we head down to a rolling road to get our carbs tuned so will hopefully film that 👍👍
