The level of excitement that literally punched me in the chest at seeing this post *insert holy rays of light and choral song* Yessssss!~🎉 You definitely choose the first and easiest of the Souls games to play, so happy for you 😍👌🥳🥰😁👍 (target lock helps sometimes, click right toggle to lock on target, you'll miss less), there's no.pause and no save, "save" is returning to the nexus.

Back when I first played the PS3 original version, I loved the atmosphere but bounced off of the difficult gameplay. I had no idea what was going on with it. But then I went back to it some months later, and somehow it 'clicked' and I fell in love and it remains one of my GOAT games to this day. And I'm an old-head who's almost 50 now so I've been playing videogames for quite a while. To me DS is absolutely special, and From Software remains my favorite game developer of the modern era.
Why did DS suddenly click for me? I think I finally realized that its "rhythm of combat" is very different from other action RPGs, from Skyrim to The Witcher to Diablo. I'd played so many RPGs over the years I thought I would dominate Demon's Souls quickly, and... oh hell no! Souls/borne games are trying to get you to rethink everything you know about how action RPGs play. You can't pause in the menu to chug healing potions, can't just block forever, can't run in wildly swinging swords, dragon's breath won't just do some fire damage to you it will MESS YOU UP, etc...
In fact I would say the best treasure in this game isn't better weapons, armor or spells... it's knowledge! When you memorize where enemies are hiding in ambush, what attacks you can block vs which ones you need to roll through, how weapon upgrading works... that's when you become a proper demon hunter!

the game saves when you exit and rest at one of those campfires like the one at the start of the stage, but you have to kindle the fire. You'll find those periodically throughout the stages, and all you have to do is rest at them to recover health and autosave. Also click on the right stick for locking on to enemies, its a double edged sword but helps a lot when it doesn't hurt.

I never had the patience to play any of the Souls games for too long, BUT I find these infinitly more entertaining to watch :'D Great choice of game for your channel imo

Ok, you’re gonna get a lot of advice for the souls series. General principles are thus:
1. The game teaches you how to play it through the gameplay, through your mistakes you’ll learn and get better.
2. It’s not impossible. It’s designed to be beaten.
3. Your best will be good enough.
4. Never give up.
Also, lock on to enemies with R3. 🙏
i learned how to lock on during my practice and it makes it so much easier lol

My prayers have been answered 😂 Sim playing a game from my favorite company of all time, Fromsoftware. I havent even watched the video yet and i can give sime good advice as a 10 year vet. Its okay to die a lot, its a learning experience. There will be much frustration and rage but i know you can do it!
i died a lot 🥲 but afterwards i practiced fighting them a lot and i’m better now i think lol

Its crazy how much harder combat is without the lock on. I struggled through Elden ring until I learned how to use it.

This game is pretty difficult, of all the soulslike games the most new player friendly would be Elden Ring or Mortal Shell (still kinda difficult but gets easier once you understand how it works)

You have to read a lot of item descriptions to get a better understanding of the mechanics and the story. They basically throw you in the fire and tell you to figure it out, lol.
I never played demon souls, but I know fromsoft games... prepare to rage, lol.

@@Simerella23 Fromsoft is famous for being unforgiving, lol. But it's absolutely doable👍🏽 the more you play the more you'll master it, and before you know it you won't want to put it down. Either that or you'll rage so hard you'll never touch the game again.

Just some pointers after watching the vid. You did nothing wrong by saying Yes at the beginning of the game. If you wouldve said no, you wouldve skipped the entire tutorial. The boss that you died at, thats a staple of fromsoftware games, they usually start off their games by giving u a boss that youre more then likely going to die to, its beatable but many times it takes a lot of experience and playing the game prior to do ao. The random messages that you saw are messages left behind by other people who play online. Some of them are helpful and some of them are not. That also applies to ppl that look like phantoms, those are other ppl playing the game the same time as you online. The reason your health was at half is because you are in your soul form, your health is automatically reduced in this form. You can get your health back through doing a certain thing but i dojt want to spoil it for u. Your blue bar is magic and your green bar is your stamina. One important thing also is that, when you die, you drop your souls which is the currency of the game. If you want to be able to level up and purchase items from other NPCs. You get them back from picking them up near the spot youve died. Also, you had a question about ppl helping you like in the intro, that happens through summoning other players online to help you. This can be very helpful for newcomer to the game and especially for bosses. That could actually be somwthing you could do with the audience. If you ever find yourself stuck or struggling we can help you out. Ive beaten the game multiple times myself and im sure others that gollow the channel have as well. Ill stop here because theres alot more but i dont want to talk tooo much or overwhelm lol

@Simerella23 you cannot pause in ANY of the games. So if you're taking a break, make sure you're in a nice little safe corner somewhere or just exit out of the game
@Simerella23 oh, you asked about saving too. Sorry, I was on the job so I was answering quickly. There is no save option for the game. The game saves automatically on its own. It's constantly in a state of keeping up with your progress so even if u were to for example, exit out of the game wothout going to menu it usually keeps your progress and if not, it's usually very close to where u were originally at

Simerella you are incredibly talented. I think though maybe you should play games for kids that are 10 years younger than you, rather than play the games that the guys who are 20 years older than you.I think kids would love your style.
