Hi Sam, helpful video as always. I'm 16, currently unfit and interested in joining the Royal Marines having only recently embarked on a fitness journey of my own to get prepared. I've still got at least another 2 years to go because I want to get my A levels and potentially join as an officer if that's possible. What I want to know though is when doing bodyweight exercises would doing a low amount of reps in a higher amount of sets be good enough to build up my strength as well as endurance? or will doing a higher amount of reps in a shorter amount of sets be the way to go? if you've got any other tips for me they'd be very welcome, thanks!
I never worked in the British Army before I am not physically fit to work in British Army I haven't got no experience I am slim I am not bulid and I have no muscles you need to be strong to work in the Army. I am a Pakistani Muslim. this my religion affected me working in the British Army. But I still respect the British Army. I went to make new skills. I went to update my cv.
I'm in the raf cause the army didnt accept me, but i still watch your videos 😊 i watched your work out videos before coming in all the time. We have a booted run tomorrow and my leg is still hurting from the stretcher run 😭 but definitely wouldn't have been keeping up if not for your videos. Also i agree about the chit. I havent missed a session yet but loads do play on it and then their fitness drops.
This is all great advice. I was an RCMO in the Beloved Corps about 15 years ago, and suggested many of these top tips during Formal Career Reviews. A few years before, a Major TOT showed me how to use a timeline to set goals and from that short, medium and long term SMART objectives that led to tasks upon yourself, which I then used for myself and also when conducting Formal Career Reviews. You’re providing a great service which the CofC should also be tapping into and directing people towards. 👍
@MilitaryFitness Thanks 😊 and I need some information between Royal Navy and the British army. I mean, what's the difference between these two types of military forces.
Any idea if the army will open up commonwealth recruitment in the next few years? I'm still doing my engineering degree, and i'd like to join the army after as an officer afterward.
Hello mate, I'm having a question.. How long does it take to receive an invitation letter after the confirmation of understanding on values and standards of the army?
Great advice! Although it doesn’t always work out for some! I left after 15 years disheartened and disappointed with my career within the Royal Signals and how I was managed. To the point of a service complaint when I left but I was ignored. I would agree that extra curricular is important but it didn’t get me anywhere. After 7 years as a Cpl I decided to leave, I volunteered for sport, raised money for charity events, aided in local community engagement, I gained both military and civilian qualifications (a degree in ICT) which I used within the workplace. I was Recommend two ranks up and still never came off the board. After asking what more I needed to do to promote I just got told continue doing what you are doing, I didn’t think that was great feedback in all honesty but persisted and still never came off the board. I don’t agree with the sick and downgraded element, I was on exercise constantly ( I had more LSA days than all of my peers - although not the greatest of deployments and exercises) and felt forgotten about whilst I saw the sick and downgraded promote who never left camp but yet we’re gaining all the qualifications to aid them in their career and on their SJAR for promotion. I saw people promote who failed fitness tests and was told that the army could not discriminate against those who are sick and downgraded, not going to lie it was a kick in the balls! I certainly agree with money! based out in Germany for 7 years I saw lots and lots of people pay a sickening amount for tax free cars which they had to sell when they got back to the U.K.! Lots of people in debt with wonga loans and constantly drinking (which is a tri-service issue and one that the military is trying to resolve). It’s not all bad I left with four houses and a degree, it’s a shame I could no longer serve, I saw the basic values and standards broken which I will not discuss on their platform. Maybe it was me, maybe I was disliked or was just unlucky. All the best to those still serving. I was gutted when I left it can be a brilliant career depending on unit/ trade!
I wanted to ask I want to have a long army career and does having qualifications like A levels boost you up ranks faster? And I wanted to ask what rank you got to love the videos keep it up
Unrelated question but I’m trying to apply from commonwealth and on the website it says minimum age to apply is 15 and 7 months and I’m nearly 16 but on the application it won’t let me submit it saying u need to be 18 to submit application so i don’t know . What should I do ?
Well the uk age is 16 and 7 months so I would imagine it is 18 years for commonwealth as you could be leaving your family and be on your own for a while
@@MilitaryFitness yeah I might just contact them to make sure cause I can’t find any information anywhere saying it’s 18 so just wanna make sure it’s not an error
Here’s how. Don’t mess with the U.S. Army just like how the British army messed with the U.S. Army in the American war of independence. The British were forced to surrender. King George the third was mad
@@MilitaryFitness just shows he’s got nothing better to do. The aim of your videos are to help people and all he does is try to ruin them with his own insecurities and silly comments. Shame really. 😂
Sam. I can tell you’re a good guy. I actually really enjoy your videos. That’s why I watch and comment. I’m just trying to be funny. I respect you and the British army. The British army would defeat the U.S. Army in a practice battle scenario.
The British army does not offer a full and rewarding career in 2023. You want to join and get an apprenticeship.. take it from me.. as a full qualified Benchley mechanic.. I obtained my qualifications when the military issued BTECS and IEC accreditation.. joint up now they don’t offer even a foundation modern apprenticeship.. further trade training and progression also is not worth it you won’t be issued the civilian equivalent.. so saying this you can go to college.. get the hands on time at college and in a workshop. Minus all the military BS.. believe it from me a 24 year veteran.. this is also true for the majority of trades the army offers
@@MilitaryFitness I’m very well thank you.. I’m just stating real life situations which I have witnessed first hand with new soldiers coming thru phase 2 establishments.. if you don’t know what they getting given in respect to qualifications / civilian accredited qualifications.. I wouldn’t post content pertaining to it..
Please since after Covid 19 how many times has it been open for commonwealth citizens to apply into the army, was it just last this year or ?
It’s just taking an awful long time at the moment
I wanted to know which one between The guards and Royal armoured corps deploy the most in the army?
They would probably deploy about the same

Try and work your way up to ten sets of ten reps. But always keep the 10 sets, so you may be only able to do 3 reps per set to begin with

Sam did you ever find out if a Royal marine transfer to the Ranger Regiment?
You can but would have to do the selection etc.

You may have to wait until they re open the applications

Should be able to

Hiya Sam, can I join or part of the British army with leave to remain?
You will have to see a recruiter about that

It will take a while to apply and get called forward so you have plenty of time

I got to warrant officer. Having extra quals can help but a degree would be better as you can go officer then
