  • Starlink for RV. How it works, Storage options, Set Up options, and more.
    Anyone can order Starlink for RV. The availability map does not apply to the RV service. When you order your Starlink will be delivered in about 2 weeks. Initial set up takes about 15-30 minutes.
    I store my Starlink in the Home Depot Husky 12 Gallon Tote. It fits perfect as long as you remember to put your Starlink in Stow mode first. I always forget. You can order the tote here: www.homedepot....
    You can get the Harbor Freight Telescopic Flagpole at any Harbor Freight store. To order online here is the link: www.harborfrei...
    The Flag Pole Buddy that lets you attach the flagpole to your ladder is located here: amzn.to/3YDcvD4
    The adapter to mount the square Starlink into the flagpole is available here: www.etsy.com/l...
    And finally the Modem holder is located here: amzn.to/3A1O2h1

    Nate, your the man!! I’ve literally watched a dozen UA-cam vids on this and you, by far, made a vid that is full of all the important points compacted in half the time others have (& was still left with questions); you answered all the questions I have and your visuals speak 1,000 words. Thanks for sharing your knowledge. I have subscribed! Regards

    How did you pull away the bottom sections of the pole? I’ve tried and tried! (4 min)

    What kind of speed are you getting and, does it vary depending on location and direction the transmitter?

    • @natewanders
      @natewanders  Рік тому +2

      I have never done a speed test so I’m not sure on speeds. It’s been more than fast enough for everything we do but we are medium to low usage. Starlink points NE so a somewhat clear view of the NE sky is needed.
      We had tree cover everywhere we stayed from Wisconsin to Missouri and it still worked with limited interruptions. Noticed the best service once we got to where trees were no longer an issue.

    Is the connection inside the storage area placed there by you or is it a part of trailer? I didn't know that Starlink had a connector for connecting the Starlink system to an RV. Also you appear to have something to hold the pole on the side of the RV near the top...what is this?

    • @natewanders
      @natewanders  Рік тому

      I feed the Starlink cable through where my water hose enters the RV. You can buy aftermarket connectors to attach the Starlink similar you do with the cable outlet but I do not have that.
      It’s the flagpole buddy that is attached to my ladder for holding the flagpole with Starlink. It comes with 2 pieces. The lower piece and the one higher up on ladder.

    What’s the trick to getting the bottom two sections off.

    • @natewanders
      @natewanders  Рік тому +3

      Loosen it and extend as far as it will go. Then just work it back and forth. There are two small nipples inside that keep it together. Little elbow grease and you can pull it out

    You get good service keeping the router in the under storage with the doors closed?

    • @natewanders
      @natewanders  Рік тому +1

      Yes. I’ve not had any issue with it underneath. I know a lot of people run the cable through the slide so they can have the box inside but honestly I don’t think it’s necessary for our 5th wheel. Maybe if we had a 43’ toy hauler and had the office in the garage I’d find a different option.
