Totally agree.
Yup, glad she/he is gone.
Lol a disgrace to the sport? Not even close. Everyone has a bad day on TV and that day was her turn. She is a tennis icon, legend, and 23 times major champion. Her and Venus worked and fought hard for women to receive equal prize money to men, and with her gone, women's tennis is beyond boring. Now it's just a bunch of random winners with no standout athletes.
How can anyone expect an umpire not to do what he is there for?

Most audacious is : threatening umpire for getting an apology.

insane, i am no psycholigist but this feeling of entitelment is typically cluster B material
It’s the truth. Men hit balls at spectators and say the worst things and don’t get defaulted. Tsitsipas is coached nearly every single game and isn’t defaulted. What’s disturbing is your inability to accept that men get away with so much more on court.
@@celestemaria5645 the thing is about consistency. The umpire Ramos has been known for being very strict and too strict to some extent. But he is fair to everyone because he gave violations warning as frequent in men match as in women match. In the same year, he has given warnings to male players who received coaching, throwing racquets, and verbal violation as well. So you can say he is not a lenient umpire, but he is fair and just.

She’s a great player but completely wrong in this situation. Her coach was using hand signals to give her guidance. That’s coaching from the sidelines and you can’t do that. I feel sorry for her opponent in this situation here.
Patrick Mouratoglou admitted he did and even more so he said all coaches have. Take a seat and stop acting like a spoilt brat. To be honest if she says it happens to her "every year"....maybe the problem is her not everyone else.
'This has happened to me so many times.' Even her coach admitted to coaching her. Nothing more needs stating..
Why the fuck these tennis players think they can talk like this to umpires. They are older, intelligent people, and deserve respect. Even if they disagree with the decision, they should still respect the person. She thinks the world revolves working her.
The issue is that claiming a tennis player of cheating is a serious offense. It’s not the same as giving a basketball player a tech. They both have to show respect.

@@mariegreen6163
It's merely the application of the rule.
The umpire has zero discretion in the penalty to be applied. First strike is a warning, second is a point, third is a game.
All three violations were manifest. If anything, Carlos Ramos was unusually lenient in waiting so long before calling the verbal abuse violation which cost her a game.

People argue with the umpires in baseball: "This is why I love baseball so much!" People argue with the umpires in Tennis: "Oh my goodness. This is very unfortunate."
Each sport has a different level of sportsmanship, for example, I come from watching cricket where players are calmer and contained their negative behavior because penalties for such things are severe but when I watch football that's on another level. The Player did things in football without any consequences the thing which may have led to the suspension of player for few matches.

Let kids know this was the exact time when Great Serena Williams became just an ordinary grandslam winner.
Was this a different match from when she threatened to kill an ump? If so, which incident came first?
There are SOME human beings who are able to STAY human beings and function accordingly .....like Federer. Calm and collected. He let the racquet and strategy do the talking. Then there are those people who, particularly when they get to the top of their game, think they are better than everyone else in every conceivable way. Serena is one of these people. Perhaps the epitome, ...the top of the list. Serena had no problem with telling anyone and everyone that they were wrong when any "controversial call ....in her eyes", was made.
The best outcome from a person like this was the "automation" ...."computerization" of line-calling .....removing the "human judgement" element out of the equation .....stopping these arrogant people from complaining about everything. The "net" serve was the first improvement. Now we don't have to listen and watch these "entitled" interruptions anymore.
NOW that the whole world has very clearly witnessed the "coaching" that occurred ...Serena has to live with this "character reveal" for the rest of her life.
ua-cam.com/video/BRAu7I_St9Q/v-deo.html ....and Venus is sitting right beside the coach!!!
ua-cam.com/video/1Lf6kA52H_Q/v-deo.html .......and then Mouratoglou now starts, very clearly, to start lying about what is he is doing ...even after he ADMITS to coaching. All sorts of "explanations" ....ALL LIES. ANYONE half intelligent can see and hear he is trying to conjure up all sorts of "explanations" ....ALL LIES.....watching his many "facial expressions" .....ultimately revealing the lying.
What I am really and truly disappointed in is the length of time this umpire took to shut Williams down. If he was trying to be "polite" ....THIS IS NO PLACE TO BE POLITE!!! If anything, if he had reacted more quickly, Williams would not have had the time to continually work herself up. "I have a daughter" ...."I am a woman" ......just made herself like the complete fool.
It also blows me away that some people repeat themselves so many times ....using the same words ....over and over and over......"this is not fair". How many times did she say that? Very much like HUMPTY TRUMPTY. He does exactly the same thing, repeating himself using the same words, over and over and over.
.
Serena had to be having a bad day here. The Ref is allowed to disagree. She deserved what she got and she needed to move on not play the gender card. That was absolutely unacceptable and ridiculous
Serena was great as a player. Venus was great as a player and as a sportsperson.
When you are a Sportsman you have to have a cold nerves and stay focused even if you fall down.
Just finished watching the Denis Shapovalov incident from the Davis Cup 2017 when he hit the chair umpire in the eye with a tennis ball (unintentionally) and was disqualified. His reaction was to apologize profusely to the ump! Williams thinks her shit don't stink! This is an outrageous reaction and should not be tolerated! What a toddler!!
This is not fair! It's not my fault that I got caught cheating! I did everything I couldn't get away with it. I tried to be as discreet as possible. Why are you doing this to me?
You know my character!!!!!! Omg she bullied the referee!
The umpire guy is non-American. She's used to dealing with American guys who are far more likely to fold to this type of behavior.
And at this moment, I stopped seeing Serena Williams as a role model.
If you’re hold people up to a pedestal of those delusional idea to be a role model, then it sounds like you have a problem.
Why don’t they let coaches come to the bench in between games? Like boxers with their cornermen
What does any of this have anything to do with her having a daughter? Way over explaining herself and just acting like a baby. It's sports ! Some calls go your way and some don't
I am not sure if you realised that Serena was the first woman in history to give birth.
Mouratoglou, Serena's coach, was clearly seen gesturing to her, but she didn't notice him. According to ITTF, players will be penalised for the conduct of their parties as well. But later, the coach conceded that he attempted coaching her three times during the match.
A rich, entitled, flashy, voluptuous narcissist at the end of a stunning career, behaving like a young brat. It is she who should apologize, to her fans, and quit whining about overcoming adversity.
Sad to see that she belittled the achievement of Osaka by making an issue in match she was struggling to win.
Serena is a terrible person.
you attack my character.... whilst at the same time she displays how its bad.
How far we have come from Chris Everett to this person.
Why can’t they ask the coach to step into the court and tell what happened. Issue would have been resolved.
the sexism in this comment section is fucking crazy. a woman can be passionate about a bad call in a sport she plays and she’s called crazy, a brat, annoying, but when men do it, it’s okay, they’re standing their ground. it has nothing to do with tennis or this game, men in other sports do the same thing and yell at ref’s for bad calls and every fan in the arena is also yelling at the ref’s, screaming “BOOOOO!” or exchanging curse words. but because a confident strong woman does it we have to knock her down for it. make it make sense ….
I will make it make sense for you. She is a brat with a condescending personality. The umpire, Carlos Ramos, handled her exactly as he should have. Exactly by the book, by the rules, no special treatment. She wants special treatment, she talked down to the guy because she has this inflated ego & thinks he is beneath her. It makes sense perfectly, she got exactly what she deserved. Entirely her own fault.
