I remember when you debutted the Intersection Marking tool, and thinking "That's neat, seems like a lot of work, won't ever use that." Now I reckon I spend more time making my intersections look nice than building my city. So thanks for that....
I know what you mean! Now that fences and trees are included all my highways have fences, hedges and crash barriers as well as lines. It takes ages but looks great.
@@shaneintheuk2026 I spent so much time in old builds manually putting fences around train tracks etc, all the while having a tool that did that automatically!
I tell you what, even though the order is not really a normal Top Ten thing, Load Order Mod HAS to be #1 for the amount of time it saves me with different city mod packs and subscriptions etc. Love it :-)
Love watching your videos! As I struggle with incorporating video advice, workshop content and mods, this type of video is especially helpful for me. Really appreciate it.
To stop buses, trolley buses, and trams from all going out of the depot at once and clogging the route until they get separated there is a mod in the workshop, named Transit Vehicle Spawn Delay 1.2, that lets one set the delay between when vehicles leave the depot.
There is a more powerpul Mod, "Improved Public Transit 2", that t allows you to incrementally add vehicles, set a preferred delay between spawns, and a bunch else. It's _very_ powerful. So, forinstance, I believe a limit of 30 passengers on busses to be unrealistic, so I set each of my bus types to various amounts. I can choose bigger busses for high demand routes, smaller busses for lower demand routes but keep intefvals between vehicles down. It sets the weekly costs automatically higher if you change the capacity to a higher number. Other controls too. I particularly like being able to just say "Add 1 (or 2, or 10) vehicle".
You couldn't have timed this video more perfectly. I just got back into playing CS and was starting to wonder what mods are current so I greatly appreciate this video. Thank you for all you do for the community. Hope to watch you work on a city live stream some day.
I downloaded the UK XML list and then left my PC alone. My lovely partner thoughtfully added the following mods (that she made up) to Biffas list... - Trees'n'stuff - no squirrels - Weird frickin' lil houses - Crap cars and off road forklifts Lost a good hour wondering why I couldn't find them on the workshop...🤣
Strangely I decided to struggle with modded cities skylines for the first time only a few hours before you uploaded this video. The load order mod has helped so much, thank you Biffa.
This video is hugely helpful. I haven't been able to play CS for quite sometime, and I knew that so much has been added, removed, changed or in conflict, my first hours would be spent getting everything setup again. This video gives me a reference for making re-entry into the game much easier. Thanks very much!!
I love these vids! Sometimes when I've taken a break from cities, coming back and seeing all the mods you're using is quite daunting - I end up downloading your collection but kinda lost in what's what. This is such a helpful reset; if you don't already, one of these for each new city (probably most of the way through, since you add some throughout) would be amazing :D
Biffa, you helped me tremendously. I was looking at your list of mode on your Discord. I was having a problem with game crashes. I knew that we had a very simular list, so I used yours to get all the mods that you had working together and then I was able to add or remove one at a time to get my list. It is always great to see what you use and how you use them. Thank you sir.
Wow! Thanks Biffa, wish I'd seen this sooner! Turns out I was using the wrong prop anarchy mod and I had totally missed the add tab button in Find It. You're a legend mate, cheers!
Biffa!!!!! I've been playing multiple different simcity buildit games on Google play store and I believe some of these games have different types of roads, firehouse, omega building's, war against other players, etc!! And I watched your videos to giving my city inspiration to growth. Keep your videos going because I admire your enthusiasm and dedication to showing your uniqueness experience in your games, have you ever thought about being a mayor for your city in real life? Because you have inspiration in your city games and you show every single individual who is subscribed to your channel how to build it the proper way. Appreciate and much love and support ❤️ 🙏 💯
ooh. after the plazas update my mod list assembled slowly from your various maps caused crashes/completely inability to actualy do anything with the city once I got it to stop crashing. this'll help me get started again from a clean slate. thank you!
@@BiffaPlaysCitiesSkylines I’m using it instead of Roads United to replace road decals, and now I don’t have to reselect the theme every time I start up the game
Wow, that Load Order mod looks amazing. I haven't played CS for probably 6 months and so I guess it's come out since then. I pretty much gave up playing CS because managing the loading of assets was such a pain using Steam subscription lists. But having that tool looks like a godsend. I'm definitely going to have to check it out now!
I only started playing this year so this latest DLC is my first 'current' DLC (if that makes sense). I wanted to test it all out in a new city rather than add it to my relatively new-current city. I discovered the tool that comes with the Loading Order Mod and it is massively helpful. CO need to somehow put this sort of management into the game natively.
Wonderful guide for the mods. Also the quick helpful tips for using move it, like double clicking the options or using the picker. Didn't know that until now. Thank you!
Excellent video showing all these fantastic mods! Also, man, I love this little touches in your videos, like the "snap back" sound in section #8 about Move It. Pure bliss :D
Thank you for making this video. I've been meaning to take a deep dive into the mods you use and get my game set up with some of them, and this made it very easy. Loving how it's changed the quality-of-life for me.
Love it, can’t get forest brush to work anymore though. I’ve tried both and it worked after deleting an old config file. Lasted about 5 minutes lol hopefully they get some more of our favorites updated soon. The mod creators are amazing!
Perfect timing. Getting a new PC that can handle modded C:S and fractured my shoulder (electric scooters, aint they great?) so have the time off work to play. Thanks Biff, I'm gonna bing your videos this weekend, I miss watching your stuff. Stay awesome.
This really helps caause i've been wanting to use mod on my games but still very much confused on how to use them. This is the perfect timing since it is also my birthday lol. Thanks Biffa!!
Until this video, I never actually knew how to properly use the Load Order Mod Thank You for that (this might even be a good stand-alone video you could do as it is probably the most useful of all the mods to know how to use properly from the get-go)
Great video, as usual :D However, I think you should add a year to the title, because Yahtzee made a very good point in his "Games as a Service is Incompatible with Art" video, you're making a claim in just one point in time.
Hey Biffa, with the node controller you should also warn people, that they can "disconnect" paths and hence cause huge performance issues. Other than that it is a great compilation of mods
That is a great list of mods, I was already using quite a few of them and added the rest just to try them out and see what I wanted to use, but doing so crashed my game as it was loading the first time. I'm going to give it another shot, but my computer just might not be equipped to handle all of them.
Okay, take 2 worked, the game loaded up, but wow looks awful now, everything is really dark. I'm going to have to mess around with the visual mods a bit and then play around to see if everything works okay. There are also trees coming through all of my roads so I'll have to figure out what is up with that.
Colors have been adjusted somewhat, I still have work to do, but I figured out an easy way to fix the trees. I used the move it mod and selected the marquee select and filtered it to trees. Then went around and selected the tress and pressed page-up. This doesn't move any trees, but refreshed them all so that the ones that shouldn't show became hidden.
That was only a temporary fix, once I closed and opened the game again the tree problem was back. Unfortunately I might have to give up on tree anarchy.
This makes playing the game so much more enjoyable. One annoyance I have is the clunky way the vanilla game pans, zooms and moves around. Is there a mod that allows you to change the keys/mouse buttons to make it easier and more intuitive?
Thank you, good and needed video. I love the game when it works, (mods and assets issue most likely and i wont play without them). I do hope that paradox interactive would work more with content creators, so everything would work better. It's really content creator community who have made this game what it is today, so i really don't understand why some of the most popular and basic mods still aren't part of the game. Like roundabout builder, move it mod and more landscaping tools, seriously why? They don't even change any technical part of the game, you can do that all by yourself, those mods only make it easier.
Biffa, have you tried out the updated feature of Intersection Marking Tool which you can use to add fences/trees on/parallel to the road (apparently without using more nodes/network count).
The priority sign is actually pretty common outside of the Americas and the UK/Ireland. I can understand why they don't have it in the US (different priority rules and they already have diamond shaped warning signs). But why is it not used in the UK? Plus, we often have another sign below it to display the shape of the intersection and where the priority road is going, if it isn't going straight.
You didnt talk about the warehouse mod. Or I skimmed thru too quick. Althought not as useful as the other mods (and a bit buggy at times since the last major game update) it's a pretty usefull when you get in large industrial/commercial district or have lots of stuff from the industry mod. thanks for the tour, our builds are pretty close =)
